New DE Priestess or just a new price/package?

Normally on Alliance and especially with GW products the '-N' suffix indicates a new item when they share a code but there is no way to tell if it's "new new" or "repackaged new".

Is the Battle for Macragge hobby set different than the normal game?

Maybe the Chapter council is one each of Captain, Chaplain, and Librarian (just speculation).

I'm looking forward to the new scenery, and glad that I'll have a chance to buy 20 of the flagellants for a decent price.

EDIT: Just notice Airbrush set!  That's pretty cool, I wonder how good it'll be (and if overpriced compared to other brands).

It's most likely the 'Battle for Macragge' box with the 'Battle for Macragge' paint set thrown in.

The Marine Chapter Council is a new release for Apocalypse. I saw pics of the models a while back. It contains new models for the various leaders of a Marine Chapter like Master of the Fleet, Master of Arms, etc. The models are generic (i.e. not Ultra or anything) and look awesome. They will make amazing Marine Commanders in addition to their use in Apocalypse.

At least the Orks are getting something new.  I guess it's nice to throw Necron players a bone too; it's fun to have new stuff.

What is the Battle of Macragge Activity Set?  Does it come with crayons?

Take that, Ork fanz.

These models are different from the new Vets that have been seen online. The Chapter Council models are way better than the new Vets! (Though the Vets are nice, I think the Chapter Council guys are just awesome)

Don't worry, Orks are indeed coming out as many people have said at the end of the year. The long wait is almost over! I for one am really psyched to finally get around to painting up my Ork army!

Is GW still advertising through Alliance? They skipped the entire Dark Angels relaunch. Hard to order through my B&M when skimming through the catalog to place my preorders.

DE Sorceress seems to be a repackage. The rest are interesting..... Super shoota?

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Have there been pics of the space marine council around? Everybody seems to be thrilled...

And the best thing for me is the Necron Lord and the Bikmek. I always like it when there are releases between the codex (plural).

I always like it when there are releases between Codicies as well Like a nice surprise.

Jeff, I have SEEN the vets, not the Council (that's why I mentioned them). So the Vets are real to me, and the Council is merely "a possibility". Once I have SEEN the Council, I will get excited Hopefully, we'll get eyes on it in the next few weeks.

Oops, my bad. I didn't notice that the Vets were listed there as well. I thought they were still a ways off. That is why I brought up the difference between the two.

Sorry about that.

GW released and Enemies of the Imperium boxed set once upon a time, with the leaders of the enemy factions, Kharne, Abbadon, Eldrad, two Dark Elves and a Necron Lord.

I'm guessing the Cpace Marine Council will be: Dante, Azrael, Marneus Calgar, Lysander, Shrike (though he isn't a chapter master) and whoever the Black Templars guy is...

The Alliance catalog isn't really the place to look for new stuff. You're much better off taking a look at the GW website. The people typing in the catalog information don't know anything about the games, hence the differences in price, name, or description in the original Alliance information. It gets cleaned up later on, and is generally correct when it goes into print. I've lately been volunteering time to go back and clean up errors every few months, as they drive me crazy when looking through the catalog. Sometimes what I send get's used, sometimes not.

You might want to read Jeff's posts before you do any more guessing.

Really though, how awesome can any marine model be when you realise how ridiculously small they are? I really like the new vets, until I realised "Wait, they're stumpy little dwarf models no bigger than a guardsmen and I'll have to TScale them all, balls."

Possibly, but I'd rather have one source give me a heads up 2 months in advance.  It helps with the budgeting when looking at the entire spectrum of games I play.

Also, the Dark Angels new stuff weren't even posted on Alliance's website (no codes whatsoever) until after they hit the shelves.  You still can't get the current regular Battleforce $90 box set through them.  Again, this makes it harder to get everything/order everything you want through your local B&M stores that use Alliances for their distributers.

Maybe the IG are all out of scale and the marines are correct. Then you'd have to TScale all of your opponents guardsmen.

Most of the Dark Angel boxes are what is called a 'Splash Release', meaning that GW is releasing them once, and then they are gone. The Dark Angel Veterans, Master of the Ravenwing, and specail characters will remain in the line, most of the rest of the boxes will be gone soon, and some are already sold out. Like the Black Templars, there isn't a need to keep around boxes that duplicate existing product. With the sprues from the DAveterans box, and the vehicle sprue, and existing marine boxes, you can make all the other models in the Dark Angels boxes that were released as Splash product.

In general, Alliance and other secondary GW distributors don't get much of these, and may not get certain products at all. The limited edition White Dwarf coming out the 26th and 27th won't be available through Alliance. Since they don't have much, or any, of the product, they don't need to list it in their catalogs or on their websites.

Correct, and that's fine. But I don't think the $90 battalion box is a splash release.

Well, we now have confirmation that the Dark Elf Sorceress is the old models:

A little more info on the Chapter Council (shamefully borrowed from B&C member Masterseth via B&C):

It's the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 10th Company Captains from a non-specific Codex Chapter.

Each of these Captains have a special title:

Master of the Forges/Armoury
Master of the Fleet
Scout Master
(and a fourth I never remember...Bikes, maybe)

In Apocalypse, these will come with special rules (flank attack, infiltrated, orbital attack, etc).

masterseth mentioned seeing the models, but had no pictures to share (they are in the APOC Codex).

Not much news, but news nonetheless,
Chuck

It seems like overkill to put that many Captains in one force, doesn't it? Unless these are the lame Captains like Captain Steve, Master of Calendars, Captain Roger, Master of the Custodial Arts, and Captain Terry, Master of Waffles-For-Lunch Fridays.

Why don't you just do a combat drop with the Battle Barge and flatten everything on the table while they're at it?
