Off the shoulder of Orion

Well, here it is (it fell off the back of a Landraider) - looks like plastic possessed and Chaos termies are all true....and a big Woohoo! for Huron Blackheart....

September could be an expensive month - sadness though, no plastic Baneblade on the horizon....fingers crossed for October

So Chaos Marines will be recut to 5 per sprue? Hopefully with all weapon options.

And they really want to push the Possessed.

Excuse the idiocy of this question, but is GW redoing the Beserkers?  I don't remember hearing anything about them (which probably answers my question).

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

I like the 2 weeks of September with no releases, before the Chaos bomb hits

Thanks for the release list, I've been wondering when/what stuff is happening this summer. Looks like June is repacked Dwarfs and BlAngel characters, July is Empire, August is LOTR, Sept is Chaos. Some fantasy terrain thrown in for good measure.

Wait, there's going to be a plastic CSM terminator lord? So not only is Chaos getting their terminator HQ in plastic before the loyalists, they're getting their terminator HQ in plastic before they get their power armor HQ in plastic! Okay...

And is a plastic terminator lord even necessary? In the new codex lords in terminator armor are going to have what, 2 different weapon options?

I don't think the Beserkers are being redone...My bets it's the same old sprue or a re cut. too bad too because the Zerks look cubby. are those plastic possessed?  I hope we get plastic  kits for the 4 powers that would be some nice bitz.

Is the reason that there are in boxes of five because all new Chaos marine squads will have to be purchased like marine combat squads??

They're not listed as a re-release or a re-box, so we can hope.

Probably just being recut to 5 per sprue, though.

I had the same thought.

The current 8-man set is still reasonably modern and I like the contents (possessed sprue obviously the exception) and the idea of GW upping the number of models in a box is opposite to their favoured trend. I smell unit size standardisation just over the horizon.

"Bloodstorm! Ravenblade! Slayer of worlds! Felt the power throb in his weapon. He clutched it tightly in his hand and turned towards his foe letting it build in the twin energy spheres and then finally! RELEASE! The throbbing weapon ejaculated burning white fluid over them as Bloodstorm! Ravenblade! laughed manfully!" - From the epic novel, Bloodstorm! Ravenblade! Obliterates! the! Plastic Posessed, 5 CSM to a sprue, Huron Blackheart gets an entry and Iron warriors are getting nerfed. This looks disturbingly like all good news. If this codex follows in the style (rules wise) of the last couple then I think Jervis may have done the impossible and started to take 40k back on the straight and narrow. Roll on 5th edition, 40k may yet be saved

But the Great and Varied Forces of Chaos are neither straight nor narrow.  Set squad sizes and all that codex bs has no place amongst the followers of the Dark Gods ...

On the 5 CSM to a sprue, recall that the 8 CSM box is currently the only main line squad box that doesn't cost $35, so adding in a couple more models and boosting the price a bit is much preferred over 'adjusting' the price with no benefit content-wise!

With any luck the re-cut spues will have a few more options, such as extra BPs/CCWs along with special weapons like flamers and meltaguns, and the requisite Asp Champ upgrades. But as long as they don't mess with the CSM plastics as they stand.

The plastic CSMs are my fav kit. Must've bought... 8-10 boxes of them in the space of a year, two years. I had so much fun building them! More of them with more options just means less money for me, but that's fine. I love those models.

Evolution's already started hitting. I already have Morvahna and I need a Woldwyrd.

As for 5/10 CSM squads. I doubt it, fluff wise CSM legions are pre codex. later additions to the dark gods forces such as Astral claws will have combat squads though if their rules follow the fluff. I'm praying that they don't keep that shoddy black and red paint scheme from White Dwarf.

New rules for 4th ed 40k pass me by these days. I'm holding out for a great revival (5th edition rewrite) for 40k, 40k is almost dead to me

Fluff wise, I think the Astral Claws would abandon the codes Astartes when they went renegade. The Soul Drinkers did.

I can see Chaos having to take x number of marines before taking a heavy weapon though.

On one hand Im laughing my ass off, on the other I'm crying.

GW used to have a pretty good game, I wonder where it went all so very wrong?

If I have armies that are already painted, how much do you all think that they'd go for if I were to sell them?

Or could I get a better price selling them by the squad, or by the point range, sans equipment?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.
