... at the Bell of Lost Souls with a special treat for the Chaos players, the Brass Scorpion!

Definitely a conversion in my opinion, but cool nonetheless.

That thing's got one hell of an AP3 (and 2) payload!

Scorpion Cannon - S6, AP3 Heavy 10!

And it is a "super heavy walker" that assaults 12"!

Sheesh!

Apocalypse indeed!

He does a nice conversion like that and then ruins it by giving it stats like a 12-year old would.

Oh, and the stats seem pretty clearly to be a page from the Apocalypse book, so they are "Official" 12-year-old-style stats.

I think the point was more like.....

What's the point of even playing if everything is going to be SUPER UBER.  Why set up 6000 pts of troops if you'll be picking up 3000 of them in casualties every turn, why not just play epic.

Hopefully they will give easy to follow instructions for said conversion, and definetely requires two defiler kits...

Looks shooty beyond belief, but frontal armor of 13?  This won't be the most survivable thing out there, and most lists should have more than enough heavy weapons to deal with it at a distance.   I'm interested to see if this is an official apoc unit, and then how the Baneblade stacks up.

But damn, it looks sweeeeeeeeeet.

why not just play epic.
Because Epic miniatures don't look as good...

That's a big factor for a lot of gamers, and a large part of the reason for the popularity of 28mm gaming.

That is a very good point.

We're already rolling buckets of dice in 40K as it is.

Maybe that back pack we've seen is to carry all the extra dice we'll soon be needing?

And that Marine Company deal? Well, they won't be on the table for too long, if this keeps up!

Deathwing Terminator with Assault Cannon

BS3 tones down that Heavy 10 quite a bit, 5 hits, 3-5 dead Marines typically. At 400 points and AV13 I don't think it's too unreasonable.

With only 3 attacks it's also vulnerable to getting bogged down in close combat.

Official? Look at the picture again. It has a page number, and a reference - Datasheets. It's in the book.

A very cool model. The way Apocalypse is shaping up I just have to make a serious comeback to 40K.

How is this overpowered? It costs 400 points. As an example, you can get two Hive Tyrants (one with wings) with quad Devourers for atleast 50 points less, and they shoot 24 times BS4 S5 reroll hits and wounds, and are much more survivable.

In my opinion this Brass Scorpion is borderline underpowered because it costs as much as three daemonically possessed Predators (6 heavy bolters, 3 TL lascannons) but is way easier to kill.

Well, as Ed Maule once famously said: "Therion's from Finland, where comp does not exist. Where he's from the trash we're forced to field for a tournament would lose to a 12 year old." - bigchris1313

It all comes down to how structure points work in Apoc. If they work like they do now in 40K, then yeah, it's about 150 points more expensive than it should be, and will die in a single turn of concentrated fire. If super-heavies function like the way the rumours are saying, then killing it might not be so easy.

The Brass Scorpion is an excellent idea, even if the model is sub-par. They obviously reused several Defiler sprues, probably adding one extra special "Brass Scorpion sprue" in the mix to end up with the beast above.

Well, better than nothing.

I'm not surprised by the amount of firepower - in Apocalypse, super heavies will make the day. Troops, even Space Marines, are only ablative wounds for the squad's heavy weapon. The number of AP 3 weapons will remind this detail to all SM players around very quickly.
Note also the "primary weapon" thing. Apparently, there will be some extra rules for movement and firing in AP.

Oh I dont know, the lack of large scale support and push and the ability to buy the models ONLY in their online store AND the horrible update of epic 40K that they tried to improve on might also have  a better part of way its not popular anymore, rather than the models....

If you make it difficult to get and play.....you cant be suprised why its not more popular.....

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers...

If the Vortex grenade  is anything like the original was then it will not matter how many structure points something has.  I can already see the Eldar and Chaos players putting cheap characters on bikes as a VG delivery system.

It seems that killing such a superheavy will have dire consequences on the battlefield.

In the thread on warseer, a titan was taken out from behind, and rolled 6d6 to see the area of effect. it was also said that the radius turned out to be 26" in this instance, and took EVERYTHING WITHIN THIS RADIUS OUT OF THE GAME. (Caps lock, its the cruise control of the inet)

Everything completly obliterated.

So maybe structure points might be a bit tougher than we know of right now. Because the consequences of destroying such with penetrating hits are enormous.

I wanna see cool rules for fast, super-heavy skimmers being shot down. Sorta like an involuntary tank shock extending Xd6 inches straight ahead in the direction it last travelled, doing absolutely unspeakable things to anything in its way....

Muhahahaha.
