i dont understand the question we ARE the assassination warrants. people like me find paper to burn to easily and the ashes to not choke fast enough.
Oh boo hoo, I can kill someone with a paperclip, look how cool I am. My body is considered a lethal weapon in court of law.
Take that in for a minute. Chowderhead's fists, head, feet, knees, and all other points of contact are considered lethal. Now, do you really want to get me a paperclip?

Your body is lethal in the same way an unloaded gun is lethal.

Actually, anything else we can duct tape to your body will hamper your ability to murder, and therefore will be less lethal to the person you are bludgeoning to death.

American cartoons have alot of really talented and noted voice actors/actresses that frequently take on or reprise roles in sometimes completely different genres of cartoons.
Tara Charendoff-Strong does Twilight Sparkle for the show, and in turn was Bubbles from Powerpuff Girls, Timmy Turner for Fairy Odd Parents, Ben Tennyson in Ben Ten, Rikku FFX...and there is somewhere else she had done work but escapes me at the moment...
and then a bunch of people will constantly harass me for not liking it, no thank you
just because someone really likes something doesn't make it any good
I love the movie Robowar, but by most standards its an awful movie, but I think its fantastic
Bronies love MLP, but I think its awful, its all about opinion but people seem to think theirs is fact because they "really really" like it or whatever
Now, as many of you have noticed, lots of pony threads on OT before have failed thanks to a variety of reasons.
I'd like for this thread to not have the same fate. The topic of this thread is general MLP discussion. Anything about MLP is on topic. However, in order to ensure that this thread does not end up locked like the other ones, I'd like to make a few requests.
1) No pic spam. One pony reaction image or so is fine, but don't just spam dozens of pony pictures. THis thread is about discussing MLP, not throwing pictures at each other.
2) To those of you who either dislike the MLP:FiM show and its fandom, or are simply indifferent, please be respectful. If you find the pony fandom annoying, then no one is forcing you to visit a thread you KNOW will be filled with ponies. If you dislike the show, please at least be respectful to us. If you want to criticize, criticize. We bronies realize that not everyone will love MLP, and while we will encourage you to watch a show we love, we will respect our different opinions. However, do expect us to defend the show if we feel you're making an unfair criticism.
3) No trolling, please. We bronies will stay in our thread, and leave those of you who dislike the show alone. Please pay us the same courtesy. Bronies? If we are trolled, remember this: Bronies do it with love and tolerance.
So, as to the bronies who will be contributing to this thread, here's the starting question.
Who's your favourite pony?
Me? Well, my avatar shoud make it obvious.
Spoiler:
It's Fluttershy.
Not that I have any problems with ponies, but y'all are getting far from the discussion now, and I would hate for y'all to have your thread locked again.

The point of her Trollness is that she performs acts that would simply make lesser ponies made.
"Ancient evil escapes? Let the kids handle it."
"Say you're going to town and have them prepare everything. Don't go."
"Banish my sister to the moon."
"Say you'll spend your time at the party with your favorite student. Ignore her."
What I found funny about celestia is that in the beginning of the series she sends her sister to the moon because of what she did. Later on in one of the episodes where her pet pheonix ends up missing, and the two responsible confront her about it, they do so expecting a terrible punishment. They tell her this and she says "what makes you think I would do that?". The ones responsible agree that it was silly to think she would do something like that.
Oh wait she stuck her sister on the moon for a thousand years, we mustn't forget that.

Eh? She felt with good reason that she was unloved, and so in order to get the attention she had been denied she wanted the world to live in a perpetual midnight. I hardly see that as evil unless you're applying real world properties to this. She never wanted to kill everyone, she just wanted to be known.
Being the older sister, this could have been prevented but it was not. So, in order to just shove her under the rug, celestia stuck her on the moon, by herself, for a thousand years. A thousand more years of loneliness. So, to Luna, what she wanted was attention, and acting out the only way she knew how, she only got rejection and more loneliness.

Her jealousy and other negative emotions turned her into Nightmare Moon/made her evil. Basically she got corrupted by Chaos. NMM was obviously powerful enough to defeat Celestia, otherwise she wouldn't have had to fall back on the super-powerful Elements of Harmony, and she banished her to the Moon - where she couldn't bring about eternal night.
Eternal night would kill everyone. Ergo, NMM wanted to kill everyone. Surely she knew that eternal night would kill everything, right? But she didn't care, which is the 'evil' part. Also, it wasn't a 1000-year sentence: NMM escaped on her own.
If you have tyranids...why is you're profile picture the Chaos star?

More or less, the mods can consider this as pic spam. As a poster who remembers this years April Fools joke on the site I can say that was the blanket warning the OT Forum received towards all threads within this particular subforum. Once discussion stops and the thread reaches about a 50/50 threshold the thread will be considered a banal thread and one of the mods will arrive to lock the thread. Mods have already warned posters about this, there are, in fact, other forums you can post about My Little Pony, and they can and will lock the thread once discussion stops. Some of the posting is considered senseless posting in this thread IIRC, as warnings have already gone out, whether for content violations or other violations, but as the thread has been reported or viewed in a negative light by the mods before, so it is still within the mods respective sight picture, should they decide to throw the kill switch.
And to quote myself from that thread.

To be completely honest, I would PM a moderator about that, however I know that they would like a thread to be discussion rather than just endless linking.
Wouldn't say it is spamming pics if you made them yourself though? That is a bit like posting pics of your painted models, I think.
Watched sleepy hollow yesterday, and made this now. What do you think?
Saintspirit wrote:Wouldn't say it is spamming pics if you made them yourself though? That is a bit like posting pics of your painted models, I think.
It does not matter the origin of the pictures, it can be considered spam, unless the thread is of a topical nature that is supposed to support multiple pictures, like the P&M sections. It also means dakka cannot be the host for your pony images, as they are non-wargaming images. If this was an art thread related to the creation of pony images then it would not fall under pic spam, however prior to doing something like that I would talk with the moderators here, as I know it has been stated that there are other sites for the posting of ponies.

I think it's pretty safe to assume that if a child were told that the sun would never rise, the first thing they would think of is that everyone dies. Your also saying that a show aimed at children hints at mass genocide in the first few episodes.
It explains in the show that everyone slept at night and were only active in the day. Perpetual night in a children's show would simply mean it's dark all the time and there is no sun. So it might be hard to see or get work done, or simply people would miss looking at the sun.
And I never said there was no reason. I'm saying that what luna did followed a logical pattern. As her older sister, celestia should have done something more appropriate then throwing her on the moon. She became nightmare moon because she felt unloved, and so the only answer celestia could think of was reinforcing that.
So yes, going back to the original point, I found it funny that upon making a mistake the two characters thought celestia would send them to a prison, because that's what she does when you screw up.

Yes, it does. Kid shows can do that. What happens when Bad Guy X explodes the sun? Everyone dies. But no, it's okay, because Captain Saviour saves the world and nobody dies.
It's between "Nightmare Moon was the big bad who tried to kill everyone" or "Nightmare Moon was at best a minor inconvenience and no actual threat". Which is funny, because it'd make the cockatrice more of an actual villain (unlike "oh no it is dark", being turned to stone is fairly bad), along with the parasprites, etc.
I know some people just like to hate on Celestia for no reason, but really. >.>
@ LunaHound: Nothing to do with Dakka, although as the others have said, it actually is. I pointed it out because it looks bad. Take my last post, for example. It contained a whole bunch of images, and it was quoted. Most people don't bother to remove images from quotes, so even more image spam for no reason. Posting a single pic like that is fine, though. And it's cool. ;3
And while I've been arguing with Necroshea about the motives of a cartoon pony for, what, a page now... oh yes, Celestia is certainly a troll. But a minor troll. Not like Discord, who was going to troll the world so bad that life would literally become a living hell for everyone. Celestia does little pranks, and that doesn't make her a cruel vicious tyrant who sends her sister to the moon as punishment for being sad. She brings a bunch of crazy people to trash an extremely boring official party, for example.
She's an alicorn, and well over 1000 years old. The alicorns appear to be either a different species or just... different. Like Primarch ponies! O.O Hencewhy the only other character with her proportions is Nightmare Moon. :3
That is not settled, because "alicorn" is originally the matter the unicorns horn are made of. Faust just called her Winger Unicorn, if I recall correctly.
The other stuff was right, though. They are pretty much primarchs...
Because it's a pretty name? Also, "alicorn" in the context of, in FiM, "unicorn pegasus" is just a fanterm I've picked up, and probably in no way their official name. Although, it does refer to both the stuff uni-horns are made of, and winged unicorns, I think.
Also, the sun is a star. It's a heavenly body. It works. >.>
EDIT: And sorry guys, I really have to stop obsessing over the princesses! DX Although, Anyone who hasn't seen Egophiliac's amazing comics about them has not lived. >.>
So, what did everyone thing about the musical fare that the series offered? I rather enjoyed the musical sections, but I've seen a lot of hate for them, too.
Normally, in Disney movies for example, I absolutely despise the singing sections. Because they're usually so cheesy and stupid and pointless. But in FiM, I rather enjoy the songs. X3
Frozen Ocean wrote:Normally, in Disney movies for example, I absolutely despise the singing sections. Because they're usually so cheesy and stupid and pointless. But in FiM, I rather enjoy the songs. X3
Same here, bro.
Who else thinks that MW2 dubbed over ponies would be epic?
My favorite song is tied between Art of the Dress/Winter-Wrap up. Pinkie Pie's stuff is good, with a techno beat. The other two are excellent on their own.

Yeah, I noticed that too.
It wasn't just an emotional thing, either, because it was like that at the start of the episode.
Personally, I prefer Nightmare Moon being simply a result of Luna's jealously and spite, and really just Luna with more powers and a different name. Her being possessed by an outside force just takes out so much of the arc and of the character of Nightmare Moon/Luna, for me.
I mean, we have an understandable reason as to why she went darkside, so do we really need a "and she got possessed", to make it not Luna's fault?

again, either way it would be cool to have one of the mane 6 turn temporarily evil.
and TBO,i think she turned good to easily, but its a kid show,so ill let it slide.....
Also, I think it was more that she was zapped with some positive emotion. I mean, we haven't seen her since - does she still wish eternal night? Or has she become good?
What I think is, she's sorry for nearly killing everyone. But still wanting eternal night, just knowing that it'd be wrong to bring it about.

One thing I noticed in the episode is that they did a good job at making Big Mac look, well... big. He's not really in the rest of the show much, and when he is he doesn't stand next to other ponies, but man... he's huge! And looks like a... a...
I forgot what they're called. The huge horses with the fluff on their ankles.

its SO silly. at least were not those weirdos who play with little soldiers, painting them up all pretty like and spending vast amounts of money to get more.

From Spike's point of view, yes. ( the case of 1 sided love, or what he thought was )
But not Rarity's
But why would the element of generosity be so greedy?
She could give Spike love and hope, but she'll die first due to the long life span of dragons.
Whe she dies, it'll leave him with despair and sorrow for the rest of "his" life span.
Not saying either is right or wrong, but im sure thats how she felt.
Its the same thing with old couples. Usually when one dies, the other dies soon too :'<
Maybe its a blessing that humans are like that, im sure they'll find peace and happiness knowing they'll be together again soon
hence we always hear the saying " wait for me i'll soon be with you again"
But with different species its a cruel unavoidable fate.
Think of this guy as Spike but instead of waiting a few years, its decades...
Poor Spike. I wonder if his silly little crush will come up more in later episodes?
No crush is silly ;_; and it will! it has to xD
perhaps something dramatic will happen like she gains extra life span through magic ( unlikely )
Or spike gets mortally wounded while saving his (cutting her life span in half or something ) confesses and she accepts.
I don't think she actually told him in the comic there, just his picture, as they never really showed him as anything other than a baby in a photo next to the photo of her friends when they were younger too.

I found it odd too, that the picture was of the young Spike, whereas in reality it was the INCREDIBLE MANLY SPIKE.

Manly Spike, Mike for short.
That section of the Diamond Dogs episode was incredibly cheesy.
