Drake McBain

Some mercenaries fight for a lost home, for revenge, for adventure. Drake MacBain fights for coin. No mission too dangerous, no battlefield too bloody, he'll work for any of the warring nations of the Iron Kingdoms without moral qualm. Wow. McBain looks like poo. He looks like a refugee from a convention with "Homemade Warcaster Armor" as opposed to a consumate professional.

Arm is posed such that he is swinging his sword but the way his legs are planted implies he's not swinging.

Gun is posed such that he is getting ready to aim but the way his head is posed implies that he's not shooting.

His gut protector / codpiece thing makes his hips look wonky too.

Satixis Raider Captain

Raider captains are some of the most notorious pirates to sail the black waves of Meredius. Each of them commands a crew of Satyxis and other inhuman monsters kept in line only by barbaric punishments and the promise of pillage and bloodshed. Guided by whim and murderous inclination, their vessels are the Scourge of the Broken Coast. Once the inertia of violence has taken a Raider Captain, she becomes caught up in the slaughter, leaping from victim to victim as the floor runs slick with blood and the air grows heavy with the screams of the dying.

New models from NQ#29 also added.

First of the Hordes previews:

Razorworm
Dragged from beneath the hardened ground of the Bloodstone Marches, razor worms are frightening and voracious monsters. The worms are difficult to track as they burrow through solid rock or the tangled roots of dense terrain. Under the direction of skorne warlocks, the razor worms bore through the surface earth of the battlefield, erupting from the ground as a nightmare of hungry teeth and piercing spines. Those they attack are dragged below the earth and consumed whole, their screams cut short by the choking earth.

Dire Troll Bomber
The escalation of war has provided many windfalls for the kriels. Among these are certain dangerous and explosive chemicals, which though unsuitable for use as gunpowder have been put to other uses. The trollkin have begun arming some of the more cunning dire trolls with barrels of these chemicals to heave at the enemy. The explosions bother the resilient trolls little and wreak terrible damage upon their foes.

Runebearer Warlock Attachment

Some of the most learned trollkin runescribes choose to accompany their leaders into battle. Carrying the sacred tablets of their kriel, runebearers are capable of amplifying the Dhunian gifts of trollkin warlocks. The glyphs glow as the runebearer speaks them aloud, easing their warlock’s use of their fury-driven prayers and sorcery.

Titan Sentry, blagged from Jason Sole's blog (via PP forums)
Jason Soles wrote:A lot of the new models we are hard at work on reinforce or fill out themes existing in the various armies. While I have heard some players speculating about a possible Trollblood Fennblade unit attachment, no one so far has postulated on a Thornwood wilderness theme for the Trollbloods. Trollkin melee monster hunter anyone?

We also want to create new models that make players consider old models in a whole new light. Enter the Paingiver Task Master. This not so nice skorne enhances the performance of Minion models fighting with the Skorne army, generally by prodding them with a very sharp stick.

Cygnar Stormtower

The storm tower is one of the most potent applications of storm technology. When activated, the tower mechanikally aggravates the atmosphere above. Storm clouds coalesce instantly as lightning arcs downward, creating a circuit between the tower and the sky. With a blinding flash, the generator disgorges bolts of power that arc through the enemy ranks.

Titan Sentry

Through careful excruciation, training, and the administration of certain drugs, beast handlers craft these titans into the mighty sentries. Their skulls are hard as stone, weapons unto themselves. Armed with shield and halberd, the massive titan sentries can withstand punishing damage before retaliating in a flurry of crushing blows. Those who come too close find themselves quailing before the enormous creatures, barely able to move as the sentry brings its mighty weapons to bear.

Slavery is one of the most deeply embedded elements of skorne culture. The Paingiver caste takes great pleasure in subjugating new beasts and races, and recent battles have only served to open their minds to new possibilities. Paingiver Task Masters are sent to oversee Skorne Minions in battle, and they are quick to apply the lash to any who grow lax in their service.

In an empire known for discipline and precision, it is a rare man who can excel in spite of his unsavory appetites and predilections. Rasheth leads a house well known for its ability to train mighty titan warbeasts, and profits from the recent push for western expansion has allowed him to delve ever deeper into decadence. Too slothful to walk on his own, the Dominar is carried into battle by a team of Agonizers.

That's nothing. Have some mildly incomprehensible Legion spoilers.

Spoiler:
Grotesques:
Base statistics: Nyss Legionnaires. Modify from there.
Speed Same. MAT -1. RAT irrelevant. DEF +1. ARM -1. CMD -3.
PS: Weapon pow same. Same number of attacks.
They have no fear.
They attack like gang-members.
Wings: the rule you'd expect.
Cost: Legionnaires.
The Stats were Updated. What you see is what you get. It's a Legionnaire cost unit!

Bethayne, the Voice of Everblight:
Stats: Base Saeryn!
Speed: -1. DEF: Same. ARM -2(!). MAT: Same. CMD +1. Fury: Same. Damage boxes: Double her Fury. WB points: -2.
Spells: Carnivore, Gallows, Ashen Veil (Testament of Menoth), Blood Thorn, Eruption of Spines.
Weapons: 2* PS+2, minus all abilities save magical, burns the target like acid.
Blood Thorn: Cost and range Spiny Growth. Upkeep. Gives a target unit's melee weapons the thing that makes models that get by them lose 1 damage every turn if they don't get rid of it...
Feat: Like Rahn minus range. Also free animi to beasts.

Belphagor:
Stats: Compare to Carnivean.
Speed -1. STR -3 DEF +1, ARM +1. Health is mostly body, probably a lot less. Fury: Nephilim. Threshold: Same (as Carni).
Weapons: Two claws pow of unlucky number. They can be used to make power attacks.
Animus: Despoiler: Cost and range as Counterblast. Place the largest template on the model, which follows it around, if an enemy model triggers it (same rules as Saeryn's Blight Bringer), they get damaged for the least amount possible, untyped.
Abilities: Elemental damage? I am immune!
Can see without eyes! Bethayne made this dude, so he won’t attack her, and he isn’t very conscientious.. Doesn’t get to ignore the rough roads L
Bethayne can cast her spells through him.
Health: More than the Nephilim Protector, less than the Seraph, half in Body.

Melding will be covered at the bottom of the post.

Hex Hunters:
Base statistics: Nyss Swordsmen.
spd +1. mat same. def same. arm -1. cmd same.
Weapons: magic ability: sorceress -1. range: Tenacity. pow: pLylyth Bow+1. A model hit by this attack can't make *thingies (of either sort) for one round.
melee weapon is pow of swords -1, magical.
Abilities: Can find their ways through terrain.
You have a hard time shooting them (like Striders).
They kill and then shoot spells (Greylord Ternion ability gained from Koldun Lord.
cost: same

Bayal, the Hound of Everblight:
Hex Hunter Character UA (d'oh) Modify from Hex Hunters, except as stated otherwise, is identical.
Stats: MAT and Magic Ability same as Hex Hunters+1. CMD+1.
Has the same spray as the Nyss Sorceress on Hellion.
Has two weapons, with which he's very masterful. They pin people to shadows like Deneghra does.
Granted: his unit the ability to see through forests, like the Strider UA. Goes Away if he dies.
Tactical knowledge allows his unit to be deployed later and farther ahead.
Cost: the same as the Strider UA.

Anysaa Ryvaal, the Talon of Everblight:
Light Cavalry Solo
Stats: Begin with Raptors, +1 DEF, +1 CMD.
Weapons: Same mount, same bow, no sword.
Abilities: She ignores the same terrain as her Raptor buddies.
She can't be shot just like a Deathstalker, she also gets to kill someone else if she kills one person, like the Deathstalker (not what he gives to the other Striders).
She gets to hunt someone down, like the Totem Hunter/Nightmare.
You can't attack her when she passes near you(!)
She makes Raptors hit more stuff, like the Warmonger War Chief.
Damage boxes: Twice her cost.
Cost: One less than the fingers I have on one hand.

Blackfrost Shard:
Stats: Base Nyss Swordsmen.
speed: Same. mat: Same. def:Same. arm: -1. cmd+1.
Magic ability is same as nyss Sorceress on Hellion (and their MAT).
PS is 2 lower than Swordsmen, but they are all very good with their swords (like the Swordsmen), which can also hit ghosts.
Abilities shared by all:
Ice Cage (Greylord Ternion), Ice Bolt (Lanyssa). Immunity to the damage type they shoot. They are not stopped by rough roads.
Unique stuff:
Officer has Disbinding (Alexia, NOT what the Withershadow Combine has )
Another, can make the unit had to see, using Ayisla's Veil (Aiyana) (*action)
The last has Kiss of Lyliss (Aiyana!)
Cost: Same as minimum Swordsmen unit.

Melding:
The way Bethayne and Belphagor meld. There will NOT be an exact word posting of this rule. Be patient and do not try to argue about it in the rules forum till you have the book. Do not ask for clarifications, cause they will not be forthcoming. This is a spoiler, not rules-forum material. Deal with it.

Bethayne has the melding ability, needs to touch Belphagor to do it. Belphagor becomes a Warlock, and a Warrior model, takes control of the battlegroup. Belphagor will do nothing for the rest of the turn after the meld.
Belphagor gets Bethayne's CMD and FURY stats, loses animus. Loses Fury on himself and gains the fury on Bethayne (at time of meld). Can cast Bethayne's spells and use her feat. No longer a warbeast, can make power attacks without paying for them. Damage marked normally, but doesn't care about aspects. Still suffers from effects that deal more damage/control aspects taking damage/etc like Warbeasts.
They get to separate during maintenance phase. If Belphagor dies while melded, you lose the game as if a Warlock did. (He gets to transfer like she does).

I'd guess at the having the same mercenary options as the Ogrun Bokur, Cryx, Cygnar & Khador. That makes them compatible with Searforge, 4 Star and Highborn Covenant.

Looks like they'll have less armour (ARM) than the Bokur.

If they're plastic I think I may be tempted. If they're £50+ for a full unit then I won't be.

The concept art for the gun is remarkably similar to something from the IKRPG, an Ogrun Assault Cannon or something to that effect. Something like 6d10 damage ignoring damage reduction as serricsteel, although the ammunition was a pain in the ass to get...

Looks like the mystery of what an in-faction mercenary UA is solved:

http://privateerpress.com/warmachine/gallery/khador/units/koldun-kapitan-valachev

"Koldun Kapitan Valachev brings the iron strength of the Motherland to mercenary units fortunate enough to serve under his command. Skilled in the dark sorcery of the Greylords, he can chill enemies with icy blasts, propel his unit upfield on freezing winds, or remove debilitating magic afflicting his men. Those serving under him are truly part of Khadoran military machine."

So, these new merc UAs will make the units in-faction. Interesting.

The fact only one SKU is listed at this point for the OAC would indicate that they're either fixed unit size, or there's a max unit in the box. Given they'll be medium bases, I'd think this would suggest plastic, but then Trolls have had multiple metal medium based units over the years, so YMMV.

By the sound of it, they're probably a Horgenhold unit, which would explain the factions they work for. Kind of sad they won't work for my Khador though, can always use more artillery.

Dysartes wrote:The fact only one SKU is listed at this point for the OAC would indicate that they're either fixed unit size, or there's a max unit in the box. Given they'll be medium bases, I'd think this would suggest plastic, but then Trolls have had multiple metal medium based units over the years, so YMMV.
According to Malefic they're three to a box. So it's a three Orgun unit if there's no additional blisters. My money's on them being metal.

Next year will see two new anthology books releasing that pick up the climatic story lines of Wrath and Domination as unbound war rages across the Iron Kingdoms. As well as introducing new epic versions of iconic characters like Asphyxious and Lylyth, each anthology will be packed with a host of exciting new models that will herald the emerging face of warfare in Western Immoren.

Press Gangers get a newsletter that we can share. Your store owners
should be getting the same newsletter.

Khador Ally Kayazy Eliminator Unit (white metal) MSRP $13.99

The kayazy eliminators are assassins who practice their deadly trade
with the finesse of the finest artists. Working in pairs, the lithe
eliminators move with deft agility to conceal their silent presence. When
the time comes to perform their bloody services, they do so with a
grace that would seem like ease were anyone present to observe it.

The Kayazy Eliminator unit comes in a blister (PIP 33074). A player may
field up to two Kayazy Eliminator units for each warcaster in a Khador
army.

PIP 33074

Khador Battle Mechanik Officer- Battle Mechanik Unit Attachment (white metal) MSRP $TBD
33081

Battle mechanik officers are hardened combat veterans who specialize in the maintenance
and battle repairs of the vaunted Man-O-War armor. Trained in the use of steam-powered
armor, they rely on its protection to wade deep into the thick of battle to repair warjacks and
Man-O-War alike. The mechaniks’ presence ensures no soldier’s armor becomes disabled,
keeping Khador’s signature heavy infantry in the fight.

The Battle Mechanik Officer Unit attachment comes in a blister (PIP 33081). A player may field
up to two Battle Mechanik Officers for each warcaster in a Khador army.

Retribution of Scyrah Aspis Light Warjack (white metal) MSRP $20.99

A marvel of Iosan force mastery, the Aspis is capable of manipulating its
own protective force field. It can reshape and strengthen its shield in
response to incoming threats. This ability, coupled with its incredible
reaction time, allows it to intercept enemy fire directed at nearby allies,
literally catching bullets before they strike. A warcaster accompanied by this
myrmidon with its regenerating field can feel secure in taking risks that
might otherwise be reckless.

The Aspis warjack comes in a blister (PIP 35035). A player may field any
number of Aspis in a Retribution of Scyrah army.

PIP 35035

Trollblood War Wagon Cavalry Battle
Engine (resin and white metal)
MSRP $TBD
PIP 71065

The War Wagon roars across the
battlefield with the crashing
sound of hooves, iron, and wood.
Pulled by enormous bison, the
great wagon thunders forward,
crushing any foe foolish enough
to stand in its path. Once in
position, it brings its monstrous
main gun to bear and blasts apart
man and beast alike in a brutal
display of raw firepower. Even
the occasional miss results in
enormous destruction from the
staggering explosive blast.

The War Wagon cavalry battle
engine comes in a box (PIP
71065). A player may field up to
two War Wagons for each
warlock in a Trollblood army.

Circle Orboros Gallows Grove Solos (white metal)
PIP 72063

An ancient manifestation of the Devourer Wurm’s conscious
will, the gallows grove flourishes on soil soaked in the bloodof
sacrifice and violent massacres. Possessing an unsettling
approximation of sentience, these gnarled trees might vanish
only to reappear where the blood flows most freely. Powerful
druids of the Circle are able to feed their will into these
conduits of power and then unleash it upon those marked for
death. The very presence of these trees saps vitality from the
living as wounds gape wide to pour blood upon the thirsty
roots of their destroyers.

The Gallows Grove solos come two in a blister (PIP 72063).
A player may field four Gallows Groves for each warlock in a
Circle Orboros army.

MSRP $24.99

Legion of Everblight Carnivean/Ravagore/Scythean Heavy Dragonspawn Kit (plastic)
MSRP $34.99
PIP 73057

The warlocks that serve the dragon Everblight can call upon a myriad of
dragonspawn, each a perfect engine of draconic destruction. The carnivean, an
ancient and favored dragonspawn, shreds flesh, bone, and steel with its mighty
claws and a shark-like maw. The ravagore emulates it progenitor’s fearsome
breath by engulfing foes in gouts of blighted fire. Terrifying in its brutal
simplicity, the sickle-armed scythean is another ancient breed created to single-
mindedly destroy any who oppose its master’s will.

This box set contains three color stat cards and one multi-part heavy warbeast
plastic model (PIP 73057). Included are all the components to assemble one of
three heavy warbeast variants: Carnivean, Ravagore, or Scythean. A player
may field any number of these heavy warbeasts in a Legion of Everblight army.

SPECIAL NOTE: PIP 73057 contains the same Mk II stat cards as PIPs 73008,
73045 and 73046. The model in this box represents the same figures as PIPs
73008, 73045, or 73046 in the game. However, this model is plastic rather than
metal. The replaced PIPs will no longer be available from Privateer Press
beginning February 1, 2012.

Legion of Everblight Proteus Character Heavy Dragonspawn (white metal)
MSRP $14.99
PIP 73062

The dragonspawn Proteus is Absylonia’s greatest creation. With a
mass of thrashing tentacles projecting from its horrible visage,
Proteus is the dragon’s hunger given obscene form. This unnatural
abomination snares its victims with its tentacles and drags them
inexorably into the grasp of its waiting claws. Those ensnared die
horribly as Proteus strips flesh from bone, filling the air with a
bloody mist.

The Proteus character heavy dragonspawn upgrade kit comes in a
blister (PIP 73062). The Proteus character heavy dragonspawn
upgrade kit is NOT a complete model. Players will need a Legion
of Everblight Carnivean/Ravagore/Scythean Heavy Dragonspawn
kit (PIP 73057) in addition to this kit. A player may field one
Proteus in a Legion of Everblight army.

Skorne Archidon Heavy Warbeast (resin and white metal) MSRP $29.99

Archidons rule the skies over the Stormlands of the Bloodstone Desert with
preternatural viciousness. Hunters possessed of keen eyesight and
tremendous speed, the enormous winged reptiles are known to trail small
groups of nomads traveling across the wastes. Once an archidon has its
quarry, it soars upward to drop its hapless victim upon the jagged stones far
below before descending to feast upon the broken body. Skorne tyrants and
beast handlers appreciate the survival instincts and fighting prowess of
these savage beasts.

The Archidon heavy warbeast comes in a box (PIP 74062). A player may
field any number of Archidons in a Skorne army.

What is the theme of the upcoming book? Wrath was battle engines, Colossals, Well you know.
From the sound of it it is warcasters

How so? It has no more Casters in it than any other book release(1 per Faction), plus some solos that happen to share a couple rules with Casters(something that already existed). In that vein, the theme is "more cav" as the next book has new Cav units.

Also, why does it need a "theme"? The last two only had one because they needed to include the rules for new model types and finalized Unbound.
