Nice products, made a test order.

- Set of 5 Wire Wrapped Power Cables 375mm
- Set of 5 Flexible Resin Power Cables
- Large Bulkhead Door

Bugs:
"State/County required"
Not many countries have states/counties.
- I used "n/a" to get past this requirement.

Postage cost:
The info claims: "International Delivery (order value: £0.00 to £14.99) Cost: £2.00"
- I was only charged £1.50.

Regards/
Magnus, Sweden

Can i sugest stuff like coms/optics equipment for tanks/apc's stuff like that

as there are a lot of 3rd party sites offering infantry based stuff but i think parts catering to tanks/mechs/flyers would do well
it mite even be worth setting up a poll on here to see what demand is for stuff ?

one thing that i think would do well is some kind of resin generic bot/ small mech thats multi part and is basic so people can scuplt kit bash there own parts to it ?

oh and plasticard sheet and tubes and stuff like rivets and brass etch and greenstuff would be good i know theres sites that sell this but its allways nice to be able to get stuff in one go

Few questions.

Can the semi clear ammo belts be painted? They look kinda non stick so how well do they take paint?
Is it possible to order and of your kits in larger lengths?
Like if I wanted to make some ammo belts for a stompa or something, could I get 20cm worth of ammo belts or are you stuck with 5cm max?

How does the custom decal thing work and how much does it cost? Do I create an image and then you just print it on paper or do you create an image similar to something I describe or send a picture of?

Do you have any plans to add 28mm ammo backpacks to go with your ammo belts?

Id really like to add an ammo belt and backpack to this minigun from maxmini

Hi,

@ Madcowcrazy

All bits can be painted (see my meganob in the below link)
http://www.the-waaagh.com/forums/?showtopic=41457&st=20

Pretty much stuck with 5cm unless enough people demand larger sizes (making is no problem covering costs is another)

The vinyl decals are cut from 0.3mm vinyl not printed giving a relief image similar to GWs sheild designs - pics coming soon.

Price would depend on the quality of the item sent - i.e. decal from photo is expensive, decal from vector ar would be a lot cheaper prices to follow.

Back pack greens are done (its based on the minigun from predator film)

Cheers

Kit

My interest is piqued. The pictures are way, way too small for me to commit any money yet, though.

My advice:

1.) Take some much, much higher resolution pictures, even if you need to borrow someone's camera to do so. 1600x1200 should be the target.
2.) The backgrounds are too busy. Don't take pictures atop a paint spattered cutting mat. Use some white paper, instead.
3.) Some painted up examples on finished models for scale would really help.

The wrapped wire power cables are available free everywhere. just find your local music shop and ask for them to share the old wire guitar strings that they have. they just throw them out. tell em you use them for art. its what i did. i have about 30 ft of different sized cables now. save your cash when it comes to power couplings etc. just make em yourself.

@ouze - better pictures certainly - on models is tricky IP problems? Don't know - wouldn't want to find out the wrong way either.

Ideas greatly appreciated on this bit

@sennacherib - I used to use guitar wire but then I made these and they are so much better - Guitar wire is spingy and tough to cut, these go where you want them to within reason. They also have a thicker wrapping than equivalent thickness guitar strings meaning more visible detail that does'nt get filled in with even a thin few layers of paint.

Certainly, for the bits that are done in clear resin, you should at least spray them white or grey or something, as it's hard to tell what they actually look like, as is. I definitely could use some ammo belts for various projects and look forward to getting some from you, once I get a good feel for what they look like.

Have you used to be on Ebay? I'm sure I have seen these exact same sets and pictures on ebay.

"Wire inserts for posability."
Does this mean there is a hole in the ammo belts you insert brass wire or some soft metal wire into so you can lock them into a position?

The minigun backpack ammo thing from Predator is exactly what I have been hoping someone would make
Really looking forwards to this.

Hi,
Yes that was me on ebay - testing the water.

The flexible resin items are cast with a wire insert which helps the belt keep the shape you want.

NIce one! I think you can use it, I've seen other sites use GW figs but with a disclaimer something like - model not included and shown only for scale

But UK law might be different from US so it's always best to get a professional opinion.

YOu could also put up models from a less-aggressive or defunct company.

One of the greatest secrets of the Grey Knights is that they have an extra geneseed organ, which modifies the black carapace to allow... long story short, before each fight they all have to ingest 90 or so bolter rounds.

And Pedro Kantor is really Sly Marbo in power armor. Dorn's Arrow shoots bolter rounds because he says they do.

These look great - I wasn't able to see the pics on the first page but the subsequent pics have shown great promise. I won my Pedro Kantor in a tournament, but if I didn't the ammo belts would give me the excuse to convert my own. I just might pick some of these up for more Sternguard conversions. Great idea!

Resin bullets and cartridges would be cool, not sure how hard it would be to make though. I would really like to be able to sprinkle cartridges on some of my bases.

Do you have any plans to make lengths of chain? I know allot of people could find uses for it. Like 10cm lengths of resin chain in different dimensions, heat it up in some water and you could wrap it around things and create other cool torture racks and stuff.

Don't forget - free miscast samples with every order whilst stock lasts. (Admittedly not the best offer in town).

Damn, I wish I'd ordered the cables after you offered miscasts

I ordered the power cables on Wednesday and I've just got home from work to find they have arrived. Nice colours just perfect. Excellent service .

I'll be ordering some more cables when you put those guns up. The guns look fantastic and a gun runner I'm planning for Inquisitor wants to be armed with the 5th one from the left.

Brilliant. BTW I'm looking for a double barrelled shotgun...any plans?

Thanks

Some Orky six-shootas would be very useful. There's a distinct lack of revolvers for Orks, although the occasional model has one.

Ammo belts are awesome, and fill a niche.

I think you need to do matching caliber shell ejection streams for all your belts...

Cinematic muzzle bursts of mathing burst size would be cool too, but I know that another company already does those, but definitely the shell ejection streams would be cool.

Vinyl Decals - got my first commission on these so pics should be forthcoming.

These decals work in a similar way to the FW brass etch.

Except they are self adhesive and will easily conform to contours.

The result is raised detail that can be easily painted and highlighted.

Sounds cool, and I just got my package of miscasts in the post.
A bit of flash, but that's to be expected. Apart from a few bits (a propeller and two pistols), as far as I can tell there's very little in the way of miscasts. The propeller is slightly wonky, so is the door (fixed with some counter-bending to make it straight), and a few gun barrels wonky, it seems all good. I especially like the mauser, and I'm waiting for a truly special guardsman to come along for it. I put the large propeller on top of my Ursus rhino (see my blog for linky), the small propeller on my open-topped chimera (pics will be posted) and the medium propeller on my stompa. The door went on my converted "centaur".
Will try the pistols out when I get my guardsmen.
really sweet!

How detailed can you make the vinyl decals? I take it the more parts it has the more complicated it would be to add to a model. Isn't it just the same thing as cutting out a sticker and putting it on a model? or is it make from another material?

I have never used vinyl stickers and this does sound pretty cool.

Just ordered 1 of everything you have for sale that was in stock, will do a review on the stuff once I get it.

Hi Thanks for the order, I will chuck in some random miscasts for you to look at.

The vinyl decals are essentially stickers but unlike paper they conform to most 3D curves.

The Vinyly is thicker than paper and easy to paint.

Detail wise its trial and error if you have an idea send me the art work and I will let you know what I think.

Cheers

Kit

I suggest you need to offer both - some people will want a random mixture of all-different weapons (e.g. for a grot squad), but others will want bulk identical weapons (e.g. for marines).

I really like what you're doing here. The vinyl transfers sound quite intriguing, and ideal for chapter icons in various sizes. Obviously you can't copy GW icons for legal reasons, but there's nothing stopping you e.g. doing wolf heads that just happen to be the right size for a space wolf army.

Of course! I meant sci fi warrior wolf motifs and symbols!
And shielded microwave guns sounds awesome

For pistols, revolver's and clip fed automags tend to be the most common, but there are pretty distinctive styles like the 1911, Walther, and Luger. You could also go for a pseudo archaic pistol ala the pirate style.

Sci Fi *assault rifles*. MGs are bigger and usually have a loader and gunner! Generic arms (bare and sleeved), to hold them would be cool, too.

you, zinge, have a lot of work to do.
but then, you'll hve a lot of happy customers to buy more stuff.

and while searching for a 4-barreled pistol, I found this, which is just plain ridiculous.

mostly for IG...
but I can imagine flintlocks being used by rogue traders, inquisitors and officers...
and same with the revolvers...
MPL and PP-19 I really want for a few of my IG veterans...
luger is for sergeants and officers...
M1911 the others wanted...
and the laser gun is to tacky and stereotypical for my liking...

if i am not wrong then an automatic rifle^^ for vets should look like a FN FAL...

and the flintstock pistol could be probably easier get hold of from the fantsy line tho i would take my chances to get a better version from zinge too^^

Thanks for all the photos - some food for thought - a veritable feast.

So looking like the next 4 to make the set will be -

1. Pistol - Desert eagle/Glock/etc

2. Revolver - Magnumesque

3. Laser Pistol - Generic Sci-fi

4. Flintlock/archeotech - Firefly/rogue trader/steam punk

5. Snub nosed revolver

6. Luger

7. Walther mpl

8. Dart Pistol - toxic sniper weapon

9. Quad barrel pistol

10. Blade runner pistol

11. M3a1 grease gun

Anymore for anymore? and then I will do a poll

There is probably another set if these are popular

I think that if everyone lists off 5 guns in that list they prefer, then make the most popular sooner.
no. 1 gets 5 points, 2 get 4pts, 3 gets 3pts, ect., then tally them up. That's how I'd do it, anyway.

okey dokey.

-revolver. good for most GEQ armies and fun.
-Luger. See above.
-Desert eagle/Glock/M1911. See above.
-Flintlock. good to add character to a model, perfect for inquisitors and traders.
-dart pistol. With C:GK coming round the corner, needle pistols and such will be needed.
-Snub nosed revolver. good for most GEQ armies and fun.
-walther MPL. Good for GEQ veterans and to add character to a solo model/diorama.
-Quad barrel pistol. adds character to a model and fun.
-M3a1 grease gun. See MPL.
-Laser Pistol. I find that they're just more stereotypical laspistols.
-Blade runner pistol. Only for one race (IIRC), so limited use.

I wouldn't lump the Desert Eagle and the other pistols together. The size and shape difference is significant.

So a mini-minigun barrel on a pistol?
I like it, just not on a revolver. It'd fire 6 shots in 1/2 a second, then you'd have to reload.

If you could make just a few of these I am sure they would go fairly quickly, not only would they look very cool scattered throughout an army of troops, they would really add some personality to them.

Ammo belts are incredible btw! they would make excellent additions to my BA vets.

Fans - Greens redone - Making mold tonite - Set is now 1 Large 30mm, 1 Medium 20mm, 2 Small 15mm and 3 Tiny 10mm. Hoping for a price of about £3-£4 a set of 7

Grills - Greens done - Mold tonite - Set is now 1 large round, 2 small round, 1 large rectangle, 2 small rectangle. Price £2-£3 for a set of 6

If you're talking about aircraft-intake type fans, I think sets of the same size would be more useful than mixed. If I'm making an airplane-style model, I'll want two (or more) of the same for symmetrical engines, and not have much use for the others.

I am coming to the conclusion that anything I do must be available separately or in small sets of identical items.

To this end all items will be available in sets (i.e 4 large fans for £X, 5 pistols for £Y) - These sets will workout slightly more expensive than buying the original set due to faffage.

Thats pretty true, but people are picky, most people that do bits do things like "8 shoulders, and 2 specials houlders" in a set, rather than a bunch of misc ones
however selling focused items will let you be more focused on what your customers want (since those items will sell more), which will help you make more/better selling products in the future.

zinge wrote:I am coming to the conclusion that anything I do must be available separately or in small sets of identical items.

I think that is true of most things, but it depends on the item and its use. Like I said, if I'm making a 2-engine aircraft, I want two of the same turbofan. If you were making a bunch of scenic pieces to detail bases, I wouldn't - I'd want a varied set.

For pistols, it could be both. If I was making a gang/warband, I might want a mix of odd stuff to put a unique piece on each one. If I'm making an army regiment, chances are I want them all to have the same sidearm.

To this end all items will be available in sets (i.e 4 large fans for £X, 5 pistols for £Y) - These sets will workout slightly more expensive than buying the original set due to faffage.

Well, say I need two of your 30mm fans. Even if I pay £2 each, it's still cheaper than ordering two £5 packs, if I'm never going to use the other parts.

there's no such thing as normal...just something a teacher drilled into me once...
there's always something which marks you out as different to the norm.

people ask me- "why are you so different?"
I say- "If everyone was the same, how boring would it be?"
they then shut up and spend the next few days pondering it.

Actually, it's easier than it looks. There's a technique that you can do that allows most people to tear it down the middle. The technique essentially makes it so that you're tearing each page in turn and not all of them at once.

If I created a bit of some sort, door, square shields etc would you consider casting them? Resin is too expensive to get where I live so it's not really an option to me.

Either royalty free if you just make them for me or a small royalty if you deemed the part good enough that you would consider selling it to others?

Zinge - you really have some great stuff here and am very tempted by all of it.

One query though, would it be difficult/possible to make a larger calibre ammo belt for autocannons? I would like some for use on sentinals and IG Heavy weapons teams.

Sorry I'm at work at the moment so can't give you any measurements. Basically the same size as would fit into the ammo hooper from the autocannon on either the sentinal kit or the heavy weapons team.

I'll chech this latter and let you know.

Thanks for the quick response btw.

Hey Zinge

The fans/vents look good. I'll be ordering some shortly (read next month), along with some pistols and wire. A quick question about the pistols actually....

You sent be 7 miscasts of pistol and you only have 6 up...which of the heavy pistols did you retire? The large or small one?

The smaller one - I can still do it if people want it but its tricky.

I think you've got a good product so I was happy to do the review. I have a bunch of friends who do military modeling and when I told them I'd found bullet belts they came unglued. Most of the scale modeling community is unhappy with the way 1/35 ammo looks as a piece of photo etch and my friends were hoping the ammo belts would alleviate this problem.

I personally would love to see both sharper bullet details and a smaller version of the "Y" Segment belt. I know I would order a TON of both for my scale models as well as fixing those new plastic grey knights.

Looking really good. I especially like the possibility of using the fans for scratchbuilt counts-as Vendettas and Stormravens.

Could you make flexible tentacles, using the same technology as the ammo belts and cables?

Different-sized tentacles, with each size being available with one of three tips:

1) Tapered cephalopod tentacle.

2) Barbed-tipped tentacle that would be suitable for various tyranid creatures, demons, and maybe even some Dark Eldar.

3) Tentacle tipped with a bizarre and unknown alien organ of some kind.

I would buy several of all those I expect.

Very interesting, i had been considering purchasing from zinge for this exact purpose.

Couple questions: is that the entire length of one strip? IE, you buy 5xSA2, is that 1 entire SA2, or would 1 fit multiple guys?

Also, a stupid question: Im not understanding how we have flexible resin. Is it just a new product? I get that theres a wire inside, but in my head I see the wire being able to bend, and the resin around it just snapping. Do you have to heat to repose, or is this simply a flexible resin Im not familiar with?

Re:Zinge Industries - Bits Site - Modular Buggy Release and Salute 2015 Offer. @ 2011/04/05 17:01:54

@targetawg

That looks like most of a single belt which are approximately 50mm long.

The resin is flexible and has a shore hardness of around 60D (for those in the know) for aveage joes like me and you its a bit like Haribo (doesn't taste as good though) or cured green stuff.
