Praetorian RR, pretty cool!

Squid alien heads, why do I get the feeling this was inspired by wargames factory? Feel free to correct me

I know the WF head you are referring to but I actually did these before I saw it, mine were inspired by the Ood.

My fiance and I both went "OOOOOOODDD" the moment we saw those heads... as soon as you release the lasgun arms I'll order it all at once. My IG commandant needs an Oodish butler...

You could use your other thread for listing all your new stuff as all other companies except Privateer Press do. You just have to edit the headline by editing the first post.

That said, nice work as always.

1) Link in the post gives a 404, but your signature link works.

2) Are the VG Torsos available in 5 packs or singles? Trying to avoid buying more than I need/want.

3) Any plans for a saber arm set to match the rough riders?

Just sets of 3

and how long before the arms and lasguns are available

Being cast now, should be another week or so.

Any plans to introduce the Praetorian torsos without straps with the Mordian heads?

yes

Perhaps this has already been answered, but I don't seem to be able to locate that answer if it has been...but, what mounts are best used with the Rough Riders kit?
They're absolutely fantastic and I'd love to know which kits would be best suited/recommended as mounts?

I'd also like to know this!
I was kitbashing some Cadiam RRs and was stuck on the arm/leg combos i was going to use.
Once again you've created gold, vic!
Thanks!

Post by: vic

they are made to fit the current GW Pistolier horse. most will go straight on the horse. Depending on the pose a little bending, filing or filling may bee needed. This should not be too much hassle as my minis are made from metal that is slightly softer. Think Old school gw metal.
That said its probably easier to file the plastic horse.
They might fit some other mounts but i have not had the chance to try any yet.

Hello V.

I have been out of the hobby since 3rd Ed. and I had no idea you existed.
I have been looking all over the place for decent heads for my IG guys, I really don't like the look of too many guys with helmets on.

I keep buying things and being frustrated by the poor quality of the sculpting on the heads.

From the looks of it I have found my answer with your heads, the bald guys are brilliant.
Then I followed the link and found your Kilted legs, as a Scot I gave a little yelp of joy.
I then read through all your threads and your bagpipe guy is looking good.

Then I noticed you are making ANZAC heads, brilliant, I have tried making slouch hats out of green stuff but I am terrible, I look forward to their release.

Now for the demanding bit.
Female guard - My wife is very artistic and I would love to see her do some painting but she wants ladies.
Realistically, under the armour all but the most bathycolpian of soldiers could be built with a standard torso.
A specific female torso would be nice but what we really need (as a community) is a range of female heads that are sculpted to your high standards.
All the heads available at the moment look like Kryten or a inflatable woman who has been in an industrial accident.

Since I'm wishing my life away I'd love a nice big dog for my CO.
A mastiff or similar.

And arms with their sleeves rolled up (not space rambo sized).

Anyway, I'll be making an order soon, of a load of heads, some kilted legs, a set of rough rider legs and an inquisition.

*cough* I certainly wasn't expecting them.

I'm very happy I found your stuff.

Thank you.

Thanks for the comments and feedback;
Female heads etc. are on the list, but will take a while.
In the meantime here is another preview;
I couldn't resist having a go at Captain Caine to lead my recent pith helmet chaps. This mini is based on my first ever GD winning squad (Caine's Cannon Fodder 1999).
I spent way to long sculpting this mini, but at least had a lot fun doing it.
Cheers,
V

Thank you very much. That news will certainly please my better half.
That sculpt of Bromhead/Caine is extremely good but as a former Royal Engineer I have to ask if you are going to do one of (then) Lieutenant John R M Chard VC/Stanley Baker?

I'd fit him into my army even though they are (predominantly) Cadian based.

Heavys shouldn't be a problem since GW heavy arms don't have pauldrons on them.

Some of Vic's lovely crouching legs, one of her torsos, a head and GW arms will give you a lovely HW guy.

Specials will be more of a problem, you can buy sprues of melta or plasma and mod them on.

Got my order yesterday as I was leaving to go to work had to wait till 11.30pm to have a look (after the misses has gone to bed so I did not get moaned at) and have to say it was like being a kid on Christmas morning loads of great toys to play with. They all looked great the detail is even better in person especially the cavalry legs FANTASTIC WORK VIC you have made my Christmas thats for shaw I hope you get everything you want and have a very happy prosperous new year as you deserve it.

The heads are amazing so much character in them and the look you achieve is spot on as to what we asked for the problem is I keep wanting more and new ideas popping in my head all the time as what to use with what. I have to say I am so impressed with this order the arms look great and have a wide range of uses the squid heads are great (nice to have a new race ) and the Las-guns look traditional but with the sci-fi feel.

Will be back for more in the new year cant wait to see what happens next (maybe some French foreign legion style heads would be cool) could mix them in with this range nicely and so looking forward to the victorian legs sets and bagpipes.

Female heads etc. are on the list, but will take a while.

Going on the quality of work you have already produced, I have no doubt that my wallet will be in the corner with a pointy stick trying to stop me making a stream of continued orders as my Guard army returns back to its former glory before I stupidly sold it nearly seven years ago. I will seriously be buying a lot of female Guard stuff from you when it happens.

Really looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Also looking at the range you are devolping with the not-praetorians, that might well be the third 'Regiment' I will be adding to my Guard forces next year. Seems a good way to add some Rough Riders.

Good, female heads, and those laser gun arms with smaller hands, would make it very easy to do female Cadians that don't look like transvestites.

Then there would be the difficulty of painting their faces so they don't look like transvestites.

I'm holding out pretty well now, but the moment greatcoat legs appear in that store I have a feeling I will become severely poorer. I'm already wanting a few penal squads and a rough riders kit. The moment the greatcoat legs appear I literally not be able to hold out anymore haha.

Btw, have you thought of doing some officer heards? With various officer caps, berets, and the like? Maybe even some field caps as well a guy or two with a cigar? Kinda like the "overseer" cap for the Penal legion heads, but with more variation I guess. One or two of those types of kits would be able to go with almost any army, and would be really awesome. Although after looking at all your great work, it wouldn't surprise me to find out you already have them designed and are just waiting for them to be tooled up

Hi thanks for the positive feedback. We do our best to get orders out quickly, and replace lost ones.

Speaking of a Victorian Guard pack, how would you guys feel about some pre-assembled one piece figures that could make up a firing line.
eg, 5 guys standing firing + four guys kneeling + one officer with pistol and sword?
So the standing guys would look something like this but a one piece cast.

Any suggestions welcome.

Post by: Absolutionis

Not to be an irreverent naysayer, but one of the biggest appeal to me of your minis is the modular nature of your individual bits.

Having a complete model is cool and all, but it's limited to only being used as what it is. Give me a bunch of laser rifles with straps, and there are hundreds of possibilities for those bits.

You currently make bits for every part of the Victorian Guard aside from the legs. Why not just make kneeling and standing legs with the appropriately-positioned arms for a firing line?

Victoria Miniatures: Warhorse project-page 172 @ 2012/03/15 00:39:40

Post by: vic

Cheers, yes I still intend to release all the bits individually. But I was thinking some people might also want some squads that they can create quickly without the hassle of assembly.

Post by: Brother SRM

I'd love to see what kind of poses you could sculpt, beyond a simple firing line. Having some single piece infantry would be pretty cool though,

Victoria Miniatures: Warhorse project-page 172 @ 2012/03/15 01:29:49

Post by: Teeef

If one was building an army then pre-posed minis are a good idea, especially if the price was less than the combined bits (10 heads, 10 legs, etc.).

Save quite a bit of time on assembly and they don't fall apart. Plus if you were to mix 10 set pose with 10 posable you could still get the variety.

I have a Sisters army and even though they are all set poses they look pretty good on the table top. The Victorian Guard would look right with a high percentage of the troops in firing line poses too.

Victoria Miniatures: Warhorse project-page 172 @ 2012/03/15 03:41:14

Post by: kenshin620

If you're going to sell a set, I wouldnt include too many kneeling

One of the reasons I have not bought any of Warlord's British Zulu War soldiers is because roughly half of the troops are kneeling. Gets a bit boring

Victoria Miniatures: Warhorse project-page 172 @ 2012/03/15 11:18:06

Post by: lone dirty dog

Set pose would be cool for army builders quick and convenient, however my self would be more interested in the multi pose design for figure posing.

Although I think a diorama of firing lines could be cool

I think 2 piece sets might be better? One whole body, and then a head? So you can get a bit of variation, instead of the same guy over and over?

I'd sell your officers as separate pieces and just do two sets of five kneeling and five standing... then customers can come up with whatever ratio they want for their armies.

If you're going to sell single-cast pieces, though, I'd expect people would want them to be cheaper than the posable ones.

My opinion of the one piece trooper would be maybe leave it so you could swap heads, but I'd be inclined to get 2 sets of a "firing line" stance.
I would actually like the kneeling look mixed with the standing as well.

Great sculpts!
Bit OT here, but can i just say,I first saw your work, an ogre kingdoms army, in the first white dwarf i ever got (i was about 11 i think) And it was a inspiration. Then i saw your diorama that made slayer sword, the one with the ridiculously good lighting effects and the woman being saved by other women (wow, terrible description). That just blew me away. You should defiantly put these in the Dakka gallery!
Great to see you skills do not only lie in painting.

I really like those heads, but the skull icons look a tad rough to me. It could easily just be how large the photo is though.

Are you also going to produce a torso with shoulder epaulettes that may match these heads? (I had to Google the word epaulette, i've just always called them shoulder tassels... )

Kudos to you!

Fire and Ice is one of my favorite pieces ever. Wow that ebay auction was crazy.

Victoria, you are a true talent and an asset to the hobby. I am anxiously awaiting the next release before I place a nice hefty order.

Vic, awhile back you teased about upcoming ANZAC/Chindit-style heads - are those still in the pipeline?

And any chance of getting short-sleeve/rolled-up sleeve arms or short trouser legs?

Those rifles are awesome! I'm ordering about 10 of them and a bagpiper kit (because seriously, who doesn't want one of those??!??!) and I can't wait. I'm making some greatcoat style troopers, and combining Max Mini's legs and german heads with your awesome guns will make a perfect fit. I still haven't found a good choice for torsos though...

May use the victorian torsos, as I think they would make an interesting fit. Only problem is the large suspenders don't look very German... Oh well, I can always order em next time! I'll probably be ordering small amounts of guns off you a lot, so I'll have next time to get some!

Any idea on how long it is till your greatcoat legs are out? I'd love to have some variety with my guys and if your greatcoat legs are half as good as the rest of your stuff, they'll look amazing. Thanks for the awesome bitz and an actual sane price for them! I don't exactly have a ton of cash, but your stuff is really easy to afford and helps me tons.

I've been looking for a company that offers heads that have that kind of officer hat, and had a shockingly hard time finding any that didn't also have the Krieg style gas masks. I think the skulls look fine, but would probably prefer a blank option as it would work better with the project I have in mind.

Awesome work though, and I look forward to see what other stuff you come up with.

Someone needs to make this immediately! If I wasn't already commiting to a german styled army, I would do this in a heartbeat. It deffinitely helps that they sell bundles to do just that! Probably wouldn't be anymore than just buying standard GW guardsmen actually....

Crap, now I have to start saving up for a THIRD army of guardsmen

Hi, thanks for the great feedback. greatcoat legs (4 standing 2 kneeling ) are on the list after the Victorian legs.
Vic, awhile back you teased about upcoming ANZAC/Chindit-style heads - are those still in the pipeline?

Yes but a way down the list, so are rolled sleeves.
Also looking at doing some arms with shoulder boards (fringe). But I want to release some plain arms with different weapons first.

I am hoping that the next release (Victoria Legs etc). will be out around the end of the month.

I'm a little sad to hear that they won't be coming sooner, but considering that I'm trying to hold out until 6th Ed comes out to see how I want to configure my next army, I can definitely wait.

Thanks for your work on these. I look forward to seeing your designs for arms carrying "different weapons".

I can't wait either. It'll definitely make ordering stuff easier on me, as almost everything I order will just come from one place. Are you planning on doing greatcoat torsos too, or were you just going to use the victorian torsos with them?

The Victorian Torso will work with the greatcoat. There is also another torso coming out with the next release.
I am open to suggestions for torsos and heads to go with greatcoats. I was thinking Russian winter style heads would be a start?

You know one thing that has been oddly missing from various bits manufacturers are hooded heads. Whether useful for evil-cultist-types or Machine-cult-types, it would be rather interesting.

This is an interesting idea. I don't think I've ever seen a hooded head sprue, although there might be a reason for that. I'd imagine it'd be tough to do, but if anyone could pull it off, you can.

I always liked open faced helmets, since everyone does the WWII German helmet with gasmask these days. Heck, even plain helmets would stand out, but doing some with stuff like camo netting or battle damage would be awesome. I also like the idea of Russian winter heads, even if I wouldn't use them, as it'd give people the option to field a proper valhallan army once again. The problem with trenchcoats is you don't exactly see a lot of variety, it's either steel helmets, winter esque heads, or hoods. Not that they look bad, but I've only seen so much one can do with them.

Regardless, I'm sure whatever you pick will look great. Keep up the great work!

Funny you should ask, the masters went off to have the production mould made this week. It will depend how long it takes to get the next mould made, and assuming the results are good, at best I would have Caine and a few other new bits available by the end of next week, fingers crossed.

I really have to thank you Victoria, Brodie helmet heads in the right scale are surprisingly rare to find!

Certainly will place an order after the Victorian legs are out, if anything just to create a Command Squad.

What are people thinking of using the Bagpiper as? Did plan one for my IG army but as a standard bearer since in my head they're more likely to hear the pipes rather than turn round in the middle of combat to look at a flag.

Very nice kits. I'm tempted by the rough riders but would be more tempted if you packaged them like the penal troopers i.e available as a set of 10 legs/arms with 9 regular torsos/pith heads and an officer torso/officer head, as at the moment you end up with a couple of spare heads and torsos to make a unit of 10.

Dependant on whether or not you like/ use Facebook, Victoria is currently asking for input as to what people would like to see from a Highland Guard Command Squad, ie sculpted banner, plain banner, what headgear and so on. I assume as a regular visitor to this site she will accept comments here.

In a moment of weakness I've suggested a 28mm heroic scale Westie as a mascot..but that's just me!

I've thought about using him as an officer of the fleet for a laugh. I'll make up some story about how bad he is at bagpipes and how the commander has him play over the enemy radio frequencies to annoy them

Woul it be possible for vic to post poll questions like that on here?
I personally like the current set she has with unit mix-n-match.
Meaning make seperate Command/Sgt torsos and make seperate
Command/Sgt head swaps. That way noone is pigeon holed by buying
one set or the other, and not having an option with future releases.

I think a Bodyguard with a Claymore would be a great idea.
I think keeping it 'as is' would be nice. Having just a command
or sgt specific torso set and head set would be the way to go.
You could make the Bodyguard, Officer and Standard torso set.
And a 5-6 head sprue with various heads. Then make a set for
each of the different helm/hat styles you're currently doing for the
different head sets.

That said, I would still love to get a Cpt. Cain one piece!

Thanks for reposting this for us "Socially challenged"!

Forgot to throw this out: seperate officer torsos would be a great way to
get some (tasteful) female options! Well and female heads would be needed

Just got my order in, must say I'm really amazed at just how awesome these pieces are. Got about 10 laser rifles (could've sworn I ordered only about 7 or 8 but oh well my memory is terrible ) and a bagpiper kit. A couple got bent very slightly in the mail, but they were no problem at all to fix.

Simply put, they look awesome. The bagpiper especially, there wasn't a single piece of flash, and it's been bugging the heck out of me trying to figure out how you pulled that off. The arms are surprisingly flexible, literally and figuratively. A few were slightly to wide, but all I had to do was bend them in a bit and they worked great! I'll have some pics up of my kitbashed stormtroopers using them soon (in my gallery so I don't spam this thread of course )

Awesome product, I'm definitely going to have to order some more soon. Next up is some rough rider arms and those amazing penal legion kits...

As with anything I do, it takes forever!
RR are on the backburner, after the Penal Legion trrops.
The Penal torsos go on both the Cadian and Catachan legs quite well.
If you use the older Catachan legs be carefull. The torsos and the legs both
have "belts".

Thanks for the great feedback.

I'm thinking of making some guys riding tau gun drones into battle with the lances. Do they mount onto cadian torsos ok?

Yep, you'll just need some super glue.

Excellent. As soon as I get some more cash, this is next on my to do list. I just need to save up a bit more cash so I can order all the stuff I want at once.

If you'd like to see how the laser rifles work with greatcoat legs and a "german" style helmet, I've got some pics up of the stormtroopers in my gallery. Sorry they're not painted yet, I'm out of paint at the moment and am trying to get some as soon as possible. They work really well, and the way you made them, they'd probably fit in perfect with any kit that's not a plain old cadian styled armor.

Have you given any thought to making some similar weapons arms for officers with swords, pistols, binoculars, etc.? I think those would sell very well too. I know I was wishing I had some more when I was putting these guys together

I like the idea of an ogre body guard in this style hope that goes ahead, plus some optional arms with swords, pistols, binoculars any chance of an arm holding a water canister ?

Plus I think you should do some detailing sets pouches, water canisters, rucksacks different styles kited out differently, maybe you could some with bed roles spare boots sword strapped to the side ect.

Have you considered a medic or at least the arms and kit for one ? commissar version to fit into this style of preatorians and scottish kilts styles ?

I also like Commander Cain idea for a Marbo style character.

Victoria, do you have any plans to do other weapons as well as laser rifles? I play GKs rather than Guard, so have more of a need for bolters and storm bolters (or stuff that looks similar to those guns ).

* "Sergeant" arms, similar to Cpt Caine's arms, with sword/pistol.
* Arms with empty hands, pointing etc, useful for weapon crew etc.

Hi, I'm looking at making some more Highland Guard Kilt legs. I am considering making the with the bottom of the jacket out (like worn in WW1) or should I keep them as they are with the kilt fully visible all the way to the belt? Any other kilt wearing comments or suggestions welcome.

I am extremely interested in seeing this range evolve and would like to see new sculpts. Plus a jacket bottom version would go better with the Captain Caine I plan on cutting in half! For completeness sake, I would prefer the current legs to remain available so I could maintain continuity across my units.

Victoria Miniatures: Warhorse project-page 172 @ 2012/05/10 07:48:41

Post by: lone dirty dog

Expand the range indeed please, I think it would give an alternative look and some variation to units nicely, I would also like to see some alternative poses in the arms selections.

Arms holding and throwing grenades, pack carriers flamer with pack, some at ease arms as well maybe one lighting a cigarette with a Zippo would be cool two hands holding his Zippo to his cigarette in his mouth.

Hope this helps also a helmet sprue would be good like the one that came with Caine

Thanks for the replies. The legs with coats are narrowly winning at the moment. This project is quite a long way off, and I will not discontinue the original legs if people still want them.
Get your votes in as I will be making the decision very soon.
http://www.facebook.com/VictoriaMiniatures
Here is a rough sketch showing the two different styles I am talking about.

The arms mentioned above are on the way. I have bought in some very special guest sculptors to work on some of these projects, very exciting

Victoria Miniatures: Warhorse project-page 172 @ 2012/05/11 08:56:09

Post by: lone dirty dog

I like both idea's and as someone had mentioned on your Facebook page why not sculpt the one without first then use the same sculpt but add the jacket to it after.

I am glad to hear that the arms are on the way I see you have some guest sculptors on board, I hope they keep to your style so things match up still.

I got my order and all is great thanks for the heads I have ordered some more legs as for some reason I only ordered a set of each which was no way enough

The Caine mini was a nice sculpt and has a lot of character, however the blade got broken of in the post so you might want to package it slightly differently to protect future orders.

Overall great stuff (as all ways) looking forward to building these. Thank you

Must get back on facebook and vote.

From a converters perspective I'm inclined to think that lone dirty dogs right and having both options would be great, but that means more moulds and greater expense which may make it less viable financially. In that case to keep things simple I would think that just keeping them plain without the jacket would be the best option, that means they'll match the existing range expanding that, while if anyone does want a jacket bottom that should be a fairly easy item to add with only very little sculpting practice.

You could even do a tutorial on how to do so to help along those who needed it.

Thanks for agreeing with me but some people fear the GS and don't have the confidents to achieve the look they want, I understand the cost issue but I would be pretty sure that the turn around would cover the cost.

Also using the same pose but adding the jacket skirt after the first moulding would cut down on sculpting time, but doing this would give the customer an alternative look and greater options.

I was not to bothered about the kilt with jacket skirt at first I have to say, but after seeing the drawing I was sold straight away the reason for this I feel is the very different feel and look it provides.

The plain kilt has more a rustic feel easily used for gangers and soldiers alike, however once the jacket skirt is added it seems to give it a more dress uniformed look, but thats just MOI.

Thats why both would be a good option for me.

Thanks everyone who has put in suggestions about the new kilts, much appreciated.
Time to make a decision; It looks like I'll be doing both, starting with the plain ones.

Hi, I am currently working on a reboot of the modular Penal Guard. This is a work in progress pic of one of the new custodians to lead them.
As I am working on this project I would very much appreciate any suggestions for guards or prisoners you would like to see. The last penal squad I did had all the prisoners with bald heads, should I continue with this or throw in some variation?
Cheers,
V

Penal guard would be cool, I'd say variety is always best for hair/heads.

Victoria Miniatures: Warhorse project-page 172 @ 2012/07/01 11:50:36

Post by: Commander Cain

Now him I like! While I think that bald heads would suit the troopers better than hair, some with hair would help make them stand out as well.

As an idea for an officer/handler, you could have someone with one or two snarling dogs leashed to him, to keep the troops in shape right?

I think maybe one standard squad would be cool and then maybe another more rouge squad to either be used on its own or to spice up the regulars would work out well. Can`t wait to see more!

Love the custodian.
Hope to see more of those, as I would like to use them as local Enforcers in my Adeptus Arbites army. Perhaps doing some holding chains (dog leashes and chained criminals)?

As for Penal Troopers, I vote for more bald heads - perhaps with some injured/bandaged ones
Goggles and eye patches, deep scars?

A "human bomb" torso for the Penal Troopers would be nice, as would a torso without clothes - or in ragged/open chested clothes. A big brute, a fatty and a skinny one would be great to add variety - and obviously some female ones.

If you are willing to do arms-combos (as the Piper conversion) it would be great to see arms carrying tools, tow chains, baggage, bags, mines, ammunition crates and especially artillery shells.
Would be useful for all armies as crew and supply train personnel.

The new custodian looks FANTASTIC but don't expect anything less from you now, variation would be good in head styles.

Have to agree with every thing kendoka mentioned, especially the tool arms big wrenches hammers crow bars, also the human bomb would look great on the battle field (real old school rouge trader style).

I have to say the variation in fitness and body shapes would be a good call, I would like to see some older faced penal character heads, you always get the old guy who knows it all in the yard.

Can I ask for an extra add to this set ? That would be some legs in the design of a boiler suit ( good old convict clothing ) this may seem a little pointless but would help with the look.

Question Vic, will the old penal legion still be available as well as the new ones or are they getting replaced completely?

Also love the custodian.

That custodian is really cool, especially for a WIP! If you're doing more penal legion types, get some with mohawks, cropped hair with shaved areas for tattoo placement and so on. Some others with shaggy hair and shaggy beards who look like they've been in solitary (or just Sean Connery from The Rock) would be cool too.

Some ponytailed hair cuts as well, maybe some greasers to and goatee beards sorry had to say it, I know but you think penal legion and every bad prison film springs to mind.

If this is a reboot does that mean you are discontinuing the original range ?

If this is the case can we be informed of a period to order some before that happens please.

Damn! I've already started converting 2 custodians!
I like the mix bald/hair heads. The newer Penal troops
have shaved heads. I could imagine "vets" having longer
hair as they survive longer. I say variations of each.

Sure, I'm pushing the company through a bit of a transition at the moment, I will possibility discontinue some bits, but not yet. I'll announce it if its going to happen.
Cheers,

I wouldn't mind seeing a beanie/knit cap for a head. Other possibles are maybe a face toque that covers the neck and lower face (may have to be modeled with a torso) and maybe a scavenged helmet (possibly generic looking). If your wanting to try something different for a prisoner torso, you could try something like a hoodie with either the hood of the head attachable or a part of the torso itself.

For a guard head, I would love a riot helmet with either face visor or maybe the cage-style look which may appeal more to people for something different and more accustomed to 40k.

And I would love the arms with loads of different tools. Great conversion potential there. Love the Custodian - may have to figure out some place for him in my army.

Some more feminine heads would be nice. Not Sexy Bimbo heads, just something more suitable for female militia or penal troops.

And speaking of penal troops, bald heads are great (and even historically logical - gotta keep those lice away somehow) but another option is unkempt and bearded, which would also suit some militia and other troops.

Hmm, how about Borg-style bionic/cybernetic human heads? Not so much hi-tech 'marines with bionic eyes' style, more humble and battered and postapocalyptic.

As strange as it may sound, I rather prefer and enjoy VicMinis's niche in the historially-influenced 28mm SciFi miniatures.

Regardless, I don't see much wrong with the previous Penal Guard. They looked amazing, and they really were some of your best stuff (not that anything you have is 'bad').

If you want suggestions, I hope the next series will maintain the forced uniformity of their attire even if the faces and arms are different. Maybe some arms have torn/removed sleeves; maybe some have full sleeves. Maybe a torso or backpack with mining/labor equipment.

Seeing that I have 2 WIP squads of the penal legionaires, I also hope they don't change too much!
Although I could always start a 3rd....

What body options, aside from the cadians, and catachans are there for the penal legions? Are human bombs included in there for options, as well?

Edit for seeing the option for the platoon. I might just have to sacrifice a few small miniatures for the dark lords, and get in on some of this action.....

Is there an option to get triple orders of them?

Seeing the incoming new sets, I see some of my Chaos marauders going in for chaos troops, along with the zombie cadians for the dark lords. THESE heads might just fit the bill.

Are the rifle options out there with hands already attached. I'd look hard at sword/ close combat weapon and rifle options for the upcoming project...

Damn 40K, just when you think your getting out, they pull you back in.

That penal custodian looks amazing. Is there any chance the head can be separate from the body? I'd love to add a pith helmet head to that figure for my Praetorian force.

Have you considered releasing a set of Victorian arms that aren't holding weapons? It would make converting "sci-fi" troopers with various "special weapons" a lot easier.

I second the request for news of any upcoming discontinued pieces. I have a set of your current penal heads and torso and absolutely love them.

Keep up the good work. I am eagerly awaiting those shotguns you previewed a few weeks back!

I had a thought that might be of a little use to you vic.
I try to keep my models as close to 50% GW or more. Not
that I like it more, but some tournies will make such demands at times.
Not that I play alot in that arena, but if I every do, I'd like to be ready.
One of the things I love about your stuff is I can use a head and a torso,
and Presto! I have something unique and different, yet "legal". I feel it's
better to keep things modular like they currently are.
Just my $.02

I second or third the call for tool arms.

Or even just tool hands that can be easily glued to arms of our choice.
