You're welcome. A new template was found, it's not much just a CD base that accepts my modular plug
But you can stick this in the plug:
Or even the top floor of this when I finish the plans:
So it would fit like it does in my man made hill:

Some more pictures of the free .pdf templates to build your own foamcard terrain all available here.
I know you may be wondering why anyone would want to make a 'man made hill' but my reasoning [explained in the blog] is that not everyone can get access to pink/white/peach/blue foam to make your standard hills but foamcard can be accessed relatively easily via ebay and craft shops.
So if you can make a hill equivalent with foam card that's one problem solved. It may be slightly more expensive in the long run but it's an option open to all terrain hobbyists. Here's another manmade hill design with the Plasma Generator plugged into the modular socket on top.
A lookout post:
A single storey building that can be made into a ruin which I've decided is a caffeine plaza or market place.
All .pdfs available here.

The so called Free Radical Collective have managed to secure more plans for a Cathedral Tower. Please do not download the plans and create non-sanctioned, non-approved by the Mechanicum structures. The FRC are believed to be a heretical institution and the further dissemination of STC patterns is in direct contravention of Adeptus Mechanicus protocols. Use of these plans will result in Inquisitorial retribution.

5mm foamboard or foamcard, it's available from art supplies and ebay a strip of foam sandwiched between two pieces of card. Use a craft knife or scalpel to cut it, all my templates are currently based on this with cereal and mounting card detailing. All you need do is print out a template and stick it to the card and cut away.

angelofvengeance wrote:Sorry to be a pain but any chance you could add measurements to your drawings? Would be easier I think..
How do you mean? Just a strip with some cms on or actual measurements for each bit, length height etc. Is it just so you can get the right scale? I do them as .pdfs and at A4 [mostly] so if you just print at 100% they should be bob on, unlike a .jpg wher eif you print them some printer won't interpret the 300dpi correctly and you'll end up with a massive picture. It's certainly something I will look into if I can see the reason why it would be of benefit, currently it's tough enough getting them out without them but if you've got a good enough case I'll do it.

Post by: angelofvengeance
It's a building trade habit I think. I'm used to my drawings having measurements on lol. If it's on A4 though probably best to mention it on the drawings. The GW stuff is about A4 size I think.

Post by: Vineheart01
Dimensions is what he wants. Usually anything that is printed down and considered a blue-print shows how long edges are. Even if its to scale and you can just match the pieces up, usually people just measure it.
Tracing or eyeballing it can create a slightly off-shapen piece. Tracing usually makes a piece SLIGHTLY larger than the actual thing.

And the next FREE Print and Play building template is available, it's the same style 2 storey building but wider. This way you can make a larger square building, once again they're designed to fit on A4 paper. The easy way to make them is print them out onto an A4 Sticky label, attach to foamboard, cut out and glue together. You can choose whether to keep or remove the windows or indeed hack at it to make your own ruins instead of [shock horror] an actual free standing undamaged building in the 40k universe!

I'm not sure what to do on this one, it is quite weird but I don't quite know how to illustrate it so it's easier and I'm an Information Designer! That's kind of why I chickened out and just let the Free Radical Collective release it. I'll have a look, maybe some component labels might make it a little clearer, meanwhile...
Finally got round to completing the last of the black building templates, the great thing about this one is you can combine it with the first building to get a wide square building or a narrow rectangular one [good lord I actually forgot the word 'rectangle' then, it took me two minutes to dig it out of my brain, how does something like that happen? Maybe my Dad's Alzheimers legacy is kicking in! still moving on...]

Took a crack at your Plasma Generator Plans. They work as is, it just took me cut and pasting them around to figure out what part went where.
At some point I just started adding other stuff, but it should illustrate that the plans are good.

That's the fella, I love the additions. Mine is down to about two thirds of it's plasma juice, somehow the hand wash I put in the pen cases has slowly evaporated. I love it when people take the design and make it their own, adding and remixing the template.

I did indeed, thought it'd be handy and quick way to cover up the exposed foam ends, so they didn't melt when sprayed. Actually zip ties aren't always straight so it's a bit of a pain to cut out the foam to rebate the ties and get the to stay true when the ties are usually warped. Still, it doe make a nice effect, more detail is always nice. Although you can do it with or without as many sets of stair cases as you wish, to make it as easy or hard to make as you want. Also, the coupling socket also fits with the towers I've made and the Honoured Imperium statue sits on top of it neatly too. It's a handy piece of terrain, I use that one a lot in my games
Excuse the 'stool of doom' proxying for my Bastion [that I'd left at home] in the last pic

With the festive season coming to a close Father Christmas found one forgotten present in his sack - a new set of Print & Play tower block templates that will match the very first skins I produced. There are at least 15 buildings that can be created from my current selection and that’s not including the additional 14 templates of more detailed, complex untextured buildings.
So if you would like the new templates this holiday season they’re available here:
http://40kaddict.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/terrain-is-everything-hail-omnissiah.html
And all the legacy templates are available here
http://40kaddict.blogspot.co.uk/2011/02/terrain-is-everything-standard-template.html
Should you also feel inclined are also a variety of free downloads including wound, objective, psychic power markers and not to mention a free terrain mat template should one have access to a large scale printer and you like Red Planet battlefields.
http://40kaddict.blogspot.co.uk/p/free-downloads.html
Anyway, hope it’s of use. All the best for the new year

It's been a really long time since I posted any updates here, apologies I should not have forgotten my login details.
