Sweet mother of mercy, that is just brilliant!!! It is quite impossible to pick a fav, because they are ALL awsum.
I have to say tho, i do not quite like Krull as a model. He looks like a Blood Demon with too small a pair of wings and with the head of the Star Wars Episode 2 Arena Beast... this one: http://www.vegatransports.com.au/2002/ep2beastreek2.jpg
But the one guy with the freehands on his armguards, i just forgot his name.....man. i love something like that. i will never be able to do this with my shaky hands. props to you.
The 40k dudes are legendary, its a cool pose photo and ranks high for me :>

Scar Scath is my favorite. I prefer the painter that uses darker tones - the super high light technique looks good on a few models, like the eldar, but looks out of place on everything else.

I am very impressed by the painting, maybe a little more than the minis.
Everytime I see a mini with a cloacked/covered face I can't stop the nagging feeling that the sculptor couldn't be asked to do the face. Obviously not always the case (rarely) but it takes away some 0.001 point for me.
I chose Bloodmaw as my favourite.

Have to agree with others that you have awesome skills of the highest quality. The precision and subtleness of some of the color blends on tiny details is just breath-taking.
As to the sculpts: I am not too much of a fan of Mierce Miniatures human minis. I guess I just don't dig the whole heavy metal muscle mutant theme...
On the other hand, I really like Alan, Benoit & Daniel's monsters, and if I wasn't so angry about the Maelstrom Games/Mierce Minatures #*..!?# still , I would buy them all.
I think the troll would be my personal favorite choice from your collection. Great sculpt, nice varied textures, and a freeky paintjob!

I am loving these minis, and the paint jobs are great. Very painterly on the last ones, which i happen to like a great deal. It would be impossible to pick one miniature though to rate as the best. The warriors are grim and dark, while the monsters are quite disturbing. Thanks for sharing.

for the big guys in poland it seems to be reversed. as far as i can tell they stay fairly busy and they dont bother doing table top junk.
and for the OP, i think bohun is one of the best or thee best in the world. the skill it takes to paint textures like that is mind boggling.

Holy s**t... the painting is awesome! The first thing I tbough (other then the first part of this comment) was skyrim, the human warriors remind me of the nords.
Still can't get my head around the quality of the painting!

I like the bloodmaw for painting wise. Its so simplistic in looks, very natural exactly like you would think something like that looks. But anyone who knows anything about painting knows to get it to look that natural, it was anything but simplistic to paint.
I would put that model next to any golden demon winner type entry and it would stand a good chance.

Post by: GiraffeX
Some really outstanding miniatures and painting.
The only ones I'm not keen on are the ones by the painter who did the Tarvax Warrior's and some of the others as I find the way they paint rather cold while the other painters are more life like and have a warmer more natural feel but thats just my opinion as the painter still has a ton of skill which I could never get near in a million years.

Favorite Paintings:
Jotuun, Vortun, Bloodmaw
2nd favorite painting: Krull
Why?
The realistic nature of the flesh (and wings on Krull) is astounding.
MOST ESPECIALLY the Maori-African tribal-type scarring that Jotuun has going on. To go over each and every scar.....a true labor of love!
Favorite Sculpt:
Definitely Jotuun....with a hearty "nod" to Krull.

This is some insanely good stuff, truly inspiring. Literally the best painted miniatures I've ever seen. Those archers are missing bowstrings, but that's literally the only (constructive) criticism I could give. The paintjobs are technical perfection without peer.
I'd love to see some pics of your display cabinets!

Awesome collection. I agree with most, the Jotun is my favorite of these wonderful lot.
Some of the models are just not sculpted to the level deserving for the skills of the minipainters, for one some have heads that are too small or faceless; which for me is were my eyes are initially drawn to look at.
Would it be possible to post the name of the artist together with the mini?

Screw you and your minis and all those who painted them! They look too good, and I thought I could paint.
But on the other hand, my commissions are hundreds of minis at once, so no comparing with that. But a question, how long does it take from you sending them miniatures to painter, to receiving them back? Just curious how long does it take for them to paint those beautiful works. Or you could ask how long does it take to paint those.

Sometimes I'm surprised by what I see on dakka, but I never expect to be amazed or... tbh I've been sitting here for 5 mins trying to think what to say which kind of speaks for itself. First and foremost I am in the gaming aspect of the miniatures world, but lately have been getting more involved with the painting and modelling aspect. From these, I can see why you do it. You dont even need to use them in a game or anything really to get enjoyment out of them. There is truth in your threads title.
Whilst I know that Ill never have anything painted that level, on the flip side I know of the Meirce Miniature range now. Had never heard of them previously but they've got some really interesting things on there. So cheers.

Here's a closeup of one of the banner holder on top of the castle ramparts. I like this pic because it shows the beautiful freehand on the banner.
Here are a few closeup pics of the undead horde amassing in the crypt to assault the party of adventurers.

I am a huge fan of Tabletop world and have most of their buildings. I also have the Mierce miniatures. The only thing I don't have is the Castle. Where did it come from and who is the manufacture? Two other things I don't have is the paint skills and the imagination to put together a game table of such epic scale. I am truly humbled. I'm going up to my game room right now and start working on my humble and now totally inadequate game table. Thank you for the inspiration.

I've been around models painting for over 20 years, defiantly the best I've seen. Agree with all the earlier posts, the blending is amazing. Most painters are modest individuals because to quote a phrase 'there's always somebody better out there'. In this case I'd like to see a better collection?

You guys are awesome. Thanks for the generous and kind words. Not everyone appreciates miniatures and dioramas. It is wonderful to be among kindred souls that get excited about the same stuff I get excited about. There is something about these very well painted minis and dioramas that captures the imagination and frees the mind... My wife and many of my friends/relatives do not understand this. But you guys do, and that is fantastic!
Here are some more Bohun Otherworld Henchmen. Every good adventuring group needs a torch bearer and a pack mule, not to mention a henchman female warrior (albeit a homely one) with a crossbow!

Whelp, after spending twenty minutes picking up my teeth after my jaw hit the desk, I only have this to say:
The pure aesthetic value of that amazing diorama/campaign/quest makes it a work of art on it's own, nevermind the amazing quality of the miniatures in it.
This truly is one of my favorite threads of all time.

I thought I would share with you some pictures of the new 5th Edition D&D campaign my friend, Jericho, is DMing.
The First Adventure - Kobolds and Cultists Invade the Town!
A few pics from the first adventure-
Attack on the road - Two cultists, four kobolds against the intrepid party of adventurers. A crypt is seen in the background but goes undetected by the party.
Approaching the town around the nearby castle ...the party sees 6 kobolds attacking two villagers.
The elf ranger engages first to save the villagers ...
The female paladin joins the fray...
Being victorious, the party escorts the villagers deeper into the town and is ambushed by a cultist leader on the bridge with three cultists jumping the party from behind...
After defeating the three cultists, the party engages the leader.
While not shown in the pictures, we were victorious. In the next adventure, we will continue to clear the town and, hopefully, get an audience with the king in the castle...

I agree the models on their site at one stage were really well painted, I'm guessing they must have changed painters as the quality seems to have gone downhill.

Post by: Sorn
The next adventure happened yesterday.
The party:
Sorn, the Barbarian
Lady Emerys, the Paladin of Tyr (figure subject to change in future)
Rasec, the High Elf Wizard
Bludrac, the Drow Ranger (figure subject to change in future)
Jericho has put up a nice adventure blog at:
https://sites.google.com/site/theeventidechronicle/dark-skies-campaign
He does a much better job at describing the adventure. But here's the gist of it-
Having defeated the cultists on the bridge while escorting the townsfolk to the castle, the party presses on to the castle. Traversing the bridge, the party spots another group of kobolds attacking townsfolk and heroically engages them-
After making short work of the kobolds, the party enters the castle and meets with the captain of the guard. The captain sends the party on a mission to protect the mill of the town from the incursion.
The party travels to the mill through the town and then the forest...
And gets ambushed by three incredibly large, dire, war dogs of the cultists. A fierce battle ensues with the ranger falling to the large grey dog.
After emerging victorious and reviving the ranger, the party climbs up the hill to the mill, which is next to a recently abandoned guard tower. Group of 6 cultists make their way up to the mill. The party fails their stealth checks (with miserably bad rolls), resulting in the party's carefully orchestrated ambush preparations being for naught. A fierce combat ensues...
The party was again victorious, successfully protecting the town's mill. The party returns to the castle only to find it being stormed by more cultists. Many dead townspeople and guards are strewn about the main gate. Unfortunately, the tide of battle is turning against the town protectors as evidenced by the attackers having managed to pry the main gate open. The party puts up a strong defense on the drawbridge, facing a heavy assault by 4 kobolds, 2 cultists and a mercenary.
Guards position themselves to protect the citizens within the castle walls
The fighting is fierce but the party turns the tide back around.
The party is victorious and is able to knock the mercenary unconscious, bringing him into the castle for a less-than-gentle interrogation by the party and the captain of the guard.
The interrogation bears fruit. The mercenary informs the party and the captain of an evil presence that has made its home in the graveyard near the town. The party agrees to investigate.
Appearing to sense the presence of the party, something emerges from the catacombs entrance - a formidable undead warrior, a wight! The party bravely attacks, with the barbarian and the ranger's melee attacks being largely ineffectual.
Fortunately, the wight's defenses fail to protect it from the paladin's righteous fury, and she skewers the wight with multiple mighty blows, bolstered by radiant damage.
The paladin's efforts secure her the MVP slot of the game. And the adventure ends with the party having advanced from first to second level. Stay tuned for the next adventure when our intrepid adventurers will explore the catacombs...

@Alpharius and @GiraffeX Glad you guys like the models!
Now some Otherworld Miniatures undead painted by the supremely talented Bohun!
I absolutely love these old-school wights! When I played D&D way back in 1981, wights scared the crap out of me -that loss of an experience level each time they hit you was ridiculously scary! And these minis do justice to that fear! They are among my new select favorites in my whole collection!
And check out these fantastically painted skeletons!
And finally, a skeleton knight and some rare demihuman undead - an undead dwarf, an undead Halfling and an undead elf
39666
Post by: GiraffeX
Those wights fit Bohun's painting style perfectly. The skeletons are amazing, they are the best skeletons I've ever seen painted to be honest.
It's also quite exciting to see you with a Horus Heresy rulebook

In the 1E AD&D campaign I run, Wights are still a serious cause for concern!
Awesome stuff here, as always!

@GiraffeX I am glad you like the skeletons. Bohun will be painting more of them for me this month. I will post them once they are completed. Since you like Horus Heresy, here's Angron, the Primarch of the World Eaters Legion painted by Bohun for me:
Here's an action shot with him and a team of chaos terminators fighting some Eldar. I posted this previously, but I think it is hard to find pics in this large thread at this point.
Ana painted the large chaos engine. Bohun painted the chaos terminators, and Luksaz of MicroArtsStudios painted the elder.
@Alpharius As always, your enthusiasm for the pics keeps me posting more.
With that in mind, here are some old school (and anatomically correct) ghouls!
