Stretch Goals
Spoiler:
"Level-ups", or things that are unlocked by means other than money (tweets, comments, likes, etc)
Here is a big load of info Modiphius posted on the official forum:
Hi guys just wanted to say we have an amazing welcome at Interplanetary. Two local GM's were hosting a lot of people trying the Infinity RPG and I ran about 8 short 2 hour sessions to give as many people as possible a taste for what is to come. In fact we had 8 players in one game - now that was crazy! The highlight for me was running a game for Carlos, Alberto, Gutier and Fernando, some of the founders of Corvus Belli!
A few facts then to help out!
- Originally we were doing a pre-order and then a Kickstarter, but with the delay to spend more time on development we decided to just do one kickstarter and keep it simple
- The Kickstarter will be in english, but we will aim to have translations of the main text of the Kickstarter page and rewards in Spanish, German and French if possible.
- Later on we hope to work with partners to produce German, French and Spanish versions of the books. We're in discussions about these but most likely they will happen in 2016 and will announce more info when we can.
- The Kickstarter will launch at the beginning of September and run for about a month (so until the beginning of October)
- If you want to hear about it first sign up at www.modiphius.com/infinity
- There will be a core book, then supplements for each of the factions, campaigns, an aliens supplement, floor tiles to use with miniatures (if you want, you don't need to use minis), custom dice, card decks, and more....
- There will be miniatures which will be semi exclusive to the kickstarter. You will be able to get them later on but with different poses. Bostria has been showing some of them off.
- There will be a couple of major campaigns - one starts on a ship of Ariadne recruits (and other faction crew) bound for Paradiso and the unfolding invasion. You'll learn the rules on the journey, discover a plot and end up at the centre of a major story. This is based on one of the the Corvus Belli's team's early Infinity RPG adventures. There will be stand alone adventures and one of them starts on the space station during the meeting of factions when the first Combined Army attack destroys the station - you'll be running & gunning as you try to escape and protect the VIP's.
- What about character creation? You'll be using three systems (total point buy to get exactly what you want, total random to start with a unique character or guided lifepath where you spend a few points to guide the random lifepath creation) to generate a character that will be affected by Birth Faction, random life events, Social Status, Environment you were brought up in (colony, farm, space station, ship, big city etc), Education, then you go through from 2-4 Primary Careers to add to your skills, talents, gear etc. Yes you will be able to make exactly the character you want matching the favourite Infinity miniature!
- There will be all new artwork in the books, plus lots of new content on the Factions and Combined Army. We will of course include some existing information for people who don't have the Infinity rulebooks.
- We're expecting the core book to be printed for Christmas, along with other accessories, the first adventure and campaign will be available in PDF, then the other unlocked books will be ready during 2016. Dates to be confirmed.
- What can you expect of the Kickstarter? ....
------ There will be a £40 PDF Master pledge which gets you everything unlocked in PDF (in the last kickstarter we did people got 17 books in PDF for this price and about 3000 pages so it was a great deal).
----- There will be a £60 Print Master pledge which gets you the core book in beautiful full colour hardback, plus everything unlocked in PDF. If you order this pledge you'll get an exclusive PDF adventure (which will later be available as part of a big campaign book) that is based on the Corvus Belli's team's early RPG adventures.
----- There will be a £100 PDF Subscription - getting all the RPG PDF's for the next 2 years
----- There will be something like ... a 'Bostria Master' Pledge ;-) which gets you drawn in to the core book as a character with your own stats and a short piece of story. You can join the Infinity story!
----- There will be a pledge for all the books in print (once they're unlocked)
---- There will be some other pledges once we organise things and you'll find out more soon
----- Our shipping is usually pretty good value and we work hard to get it as low as possible. We also offer the chance to pick up at events in London (Dragonmeet or the Modiphius office), UK Games Expo, Gen Con, or Essen once the books are printed.
----- We'll be doing a survey in the next week or so to check which books you'd like to see first in the stretch goals - what's more important, campaigns, or supplements about the factions, floor tiles or accessories etc?
There's a lot more to tell you but this should be enough for now!
Modiphius posted on the CB forum earlier today that the Kickstarter would be launched most likely between Tuesday and Thursday next week (September 8-10).
If it works the same as in MC (it might not, I haven't been following the playtest), when rolling you check the following:
- Your Attribute (6-12 for most player characters)
- Your Expertise level in that skill (usually 1-5)
- Your Focus level in that skill (usually 0-3)
- The Difficulty of the test (usually 1 to 3)
You roll 2d20, and every roll with a result equal or lower your (Attribute+Skill Expertise level) counts as a success. Every dice result equal or lower to your Skill Focus level counts as 2 successes. If you get as many succeses as the Difficulty of the test or more, you succeed. Successes generated in a roll above the Difficulty level become Momentum (probably named differently in Infinity), that you can use for additional effects.
With all of the SF miniatures and games coming out and already on the market, is there any company making 3D 28mm spaceships? I'm not talking about just corridors, but where a player could have access to an entire ship. Such as living ,medical, engine rooms, command centers, etc. It seems to me there would be a large market for this.
Hi there after all this time we're just days from the launch of the Infinity RPG Kickstarter. Thanks to everyone who completed the survey's we went through all the comments and answers and listened to you all. If you've been sent an Infinity RPG BETA survey please remember to complete it as it will help us finalise the core rules.
Here's some more info on the Kickstarter which launches THIS WEEK!
I just finished the draft edit of the Kickstarter video at 4am this morning, featuring a stunning soundtrack by two writers who create some of the biggest movie tunes! It's now gone to the editing team in Belgium to add some cool effects and it will then go to Corvus Belli on Tuesday for approval.
When do we launch? We're currently designing all the graphics for the Kickstarter page and building it - we're hoping to go live either Wednesday or Thursday THIS WEEK around MIDDAY UK time, depending on when everything is ready. As soon as we know we'll send out a mail giving you a heads up so you're ready.
Please tell all your friends in the Infinity community about this so we can get as many people on board as possible - we'll be creating lots of cool avatars and signature banners you can use but in the meantime please share the www.modiphius.com/infinity page and get people to sign up so we can email them when the Kickstarter goes live.
When does the Kickstarter finish? We'll be finishing at 8pm UK time on Sunday 4th October so make sure you can get online that weekend so you can join the live chat (we'll advertise the chat service link on the Kickstarter page) or Kickstarter comments and be part of the final weekend's crazy events!
The first few stretch goals are designed to make the pledges even better value for money - more on that in our next update but I think you're going to like what we're planning ;-)
In the meantime this is what a lot of you asked for and we're looking at incorporating in to the line
A Technology of the Human Sphere book - lots of gear!
War Market: The Mercenaries Sourcebook (including how to run mercenary companies)
A Tactical Assault Gears book with details on running campaigns with just TAG pilots,
The Combined Army book containing info on creating defected Morat or Shasvastii characters
Ships of the Human Sphere covering faction ships, ship based campaigns and deck plans
The 0-12 Files with info on conspiracies, rogue AI's and loads of adventures
The Contested Worlds Planet covering characters from the Human Edge and Svalarheima
There's lots more but we'll unveil it over the coming weeks through the Kickstarter in the meantime if you have questions we have a Q&A going on in our forum here.
Our first goal will be to fund the main books that you voted on which include the faction books and campaigns.
One piece of cool news, we are going to produce a boxed Collectors set - it looks like this will include the core book, players guide, a full set of the 6 RPG figures and GM screen or Gamesmasters Guide and something else extra. It's .... stunning.
We're starting work on some awesome ruined Paradiso geomorphic tiles by Henning Ludvigsen who drew the tiles for Imperial Assault, Descent and Mountains of Madness. They're first on the list to use in your adventures and we also have more based on your preferences.
That's all for today, we'll send one more update when we know when we're launching!
I think I might be grabbing that collectors set. That sounds fantastic, and just what I wanted. Bonus if it's got the faux-leather Core book. I'd prefer it if it had the PDFs, but if it doesn't, I'm sure I could add them.
Yeah I'm tempted for a physical copy of the main book and pdfs of the others, plus models of course!
Also as to the organisation of this thread, at the moment I have everything in spoilers, do we feel that's the best way to go, or leave some of the models unspoiled?
I asked Modiphius about the £100 "all Infinity RPG pdfs for 2 years" level to see if there was any more news. There isn't a final count of what they plan to release yet as a lot will be determined by how well the campaign goes first. I would imagine year one will mostly be the unlocked books with a few supplementals to tie in with CB's campaigns or new models, but year 2 is apparently rammed full. Hopefully there will be more information later this week. They are getting better at hitting deadlines. They have historically been fairly close with their KS timings, with a few books delayed when the hired writers had personal issues to combat, but in each case, they have increased the size or quality of the books as an apology. Some have increased by up to 80 pages and gone from b&w to full colour... so you actually win if things are late
It is important to note that the main rulebook is in final testing at the moment, with the plan to have the pdf version released before Christmas and the print version just after, with each additional PDF/book released once a month. If the process follows the Achtung! Cthulhu progress they will most likely be sending out the pdf versions to allow people to proof read them and ask for clarifications on bits before anything goes to print, which has worked very well so far.
For anyone that has backed one of their other campaigns, they are working on some stretch goals for this KS (and future ones) that will benefit those backers as well as anyone that backs this one. They havn't said exactly what yet, but there was talk of additional small pdfs. This may also tie into the improved community site that they are building

For me unspoiled all the way, nothing to hide!
I can only recommend Modiphius! I pledged for Achtung Chthulhu, Mutant Chronicles and Thunderbirds.
Very good communication and everything more or less on time!
Have they suggested timing for the miniatures? I've been considering ordering an extra set as a Christmas present for someone, but for that they need to arrive before Christmas...
Not yet. Hopefully they will have more information on the dates when the campaign starts.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Looking through the description of what is coming for this campaign, it occurred to me that these seem to map neatly onto the same sort of levels as the Mutant Chronicles campaign they ran last year:

Why would I want ruined Paradiso tiles in an RPG? Even in the war-game I want a pristine environment, where I do the ruining!
Whoa, this is really interesting! Thanks for giving it its own thread, I can't find anything in that huge Infinity one and would've missed this completely.
I was thinking that the RPG would be a "buy sometime for the fluff" thing, but after reading the detail that's going to be included in the books, I'm thinking that I'm going have to get backing this one!

Just checked out the pledges and good gawd I can't wait for the Infinity Kickstarter to start. I'll probably go all out in this one to get both physical, digital, and get drawn as a character. Plus maybe get a mini made of me if there is that option.
The update from today is that it took longer to create all the KS assets than they thought, so CB will be checking them all over the weekend with the aim to launch the campaign on Tuesday
Mort wrote: Looks like it will be Wednesday the 16th now, instead of tomorrow. "One more last-second film edit approval".
That said, they say they've already got their pledge manager alive and kicking, so that's a good thing. That should go live in November.
Odds of Wednesday being pushed back? 50/50!
Ah they actually said pledge calculator, which is not the pledge manager. They use Backerkit though, so it should be fairly quick to set up though.
Shipping will not be included in the pledge totals, much like most campaigns now, and will be added on in the pledge manager.
They have also announced that the second stretch goal is one of the figures free with any pledge level that includes a printed rulebook. They have two of the models painted already and hope to have the rest finished in the very near future.
They are pretty good. The delivery date mentioned on the kickstarter will most likely be for the main book and add-ons like the bag and figures. The extra books unlocked will take time and be released over a longer period.
Each campaign has had less and less slippage vs the estimations given. They are good at communicating when there are delays and in every case where there has been, it has been down to the writers having personal issues, or them deciding that what had been written wasn't up to scratch and sent back. Each delay has increased the size or print quality of the books... so it sort of pays off for them to overrun slightly on one. One book in the A!C campaign increased by 80 pages and went form b&w to full colour
The way Modiphius tends to handle the books is that prior to printing, draft versions of the books are sent to backers to review. Once feedback has been given, the book goes off to print and sent out to everyone. Turnaround once the print has started is normally very quick.
Soubds good. I was expecting this to release in waves, so that's no surprise. Glad to hear that their turnaround time is generally very quick. Can't wait until tomorrow.
Barzam wrote: Soubds good. I was expecting this to release in waves, so that's no surprise. Glad to hear that their turnaround time is generally very quick. Can't wait until tomorrow.
They have said that the PDF of the main book is expected before Christmas, with the print run going out just after. I would imagine figures and some of the other items will also go out about the same time.
So I don't get paid til the 15th next month, so am I right in thinking I can pledge a small amount now but change my pledge level in the pledge manager later?
Looks like they made a good call on an Infinity license. Lets just hope that they can keep the momentum going throughout the campaign and blitz through past rpg campaigns.
Achtung! Cthulhu ended up at £177,557
Mutant Chronicles ended up at £151,072
motyak wrote: I think I'll go for the collector's. And just pray either the pound takes a hit or the Aus dollar rallies ha.
They are putting the final touches on a Collector's box with even more goodies in it. Really interested to see what is in that
Automatically Appended Next Post: Ok, so more information on the player's guide. This is reformatted information from the full book, rather than a specific player guide with new information. At the moment.
The aim of this book is for the GMs to have something the players can read through without seeing GM material
Automatically Appended Next Post: Aaaaaand funded in an hour.
I don't know if there will be a minis only level. Currently it looks like you need a minimum of the £20 level with a print book (which will get you one free mini) and access to the add-ons section.
Question: Is this pen & paper or a tile based RPG?
The campaign is worded to suggest it's pen and paper but then they're offering miniatures.
As for the miniatures, I was under the impression they won't be separate for the KS but will be released for Infinity proper with alternate arms later on (barring an exclusive stretch goal minis).
ImAGeek wrote: So I don't get paid til the 15th next month, so am I right in thinking I can pledge a small amount now but change my pledge level in the pledge manager later?
Yes just pledge what you can, you can upgrade your pledge and add more during the pledge manager through november

It's pen and paper but we're producing cool tiles because....well because they'll look amazing with all our favourite Infinity minis :-) Actually the system will support tiles nicely if you want them
Necros wrote:Maybe I missed it, but there's no minis only pledge? or do all the minis need to get unlocked first?
Minimum pledge will be the Core Book PDF plus 6 minis
With the player's guide we're planning to add more bonus content later on for players, as with the collectors book that will also get some bonus content
Hopefully whoever proof-reads the book isn't the person who proof-read that Kickstarter page; "add on's"? :(
I might be tempted by the core book for the background, to fill in the gaps in the wargame book.
What's the scope of the game? Is everyone expected to play some sort of official or semi-official agent? Or can we do "Lock, Sotck and Two Smoking Barrels" in downtown Shanghai, dodging Celestial Guard and the like?
Mr.Church13 wrote:So I get one mini at the big pledge level?
Unfortunately that's all I was here for, I'm out.
*edit
Never mind found the add ons in this mess.
The big pledge is the hand numbered limited edition deluxe core book which will get some upgrades of bonus intent. There will be a big box set including all 6 minis plus lots more stuff.
Yeah I'm not interested in the book at all. Nothing against CB or MōD, but I just don't have an RPG group.
Not sure why with their audience they couldn't put at least one just minis and dice pledge level.
Honestly though trust issues won't let me piggyback with an Internet stranger. Hate to miss the exclusives, but it is what it is, not gonna pay 30 for something I don't want just to pay more for what I do want.
I was curious about what the difference between the collector's edition of the rulebook and the regular one was. So it's more than just being hardback?

Thanks! Do I have to pledge a certain amount now to avoid missing out on anything later? Sorry, I've never really done Kickstarter before.

We kept the minis price as low as we could for backers but as a result had to link it to at least the core book pdf.
Barzam wrote:I was curious about what the difference between the collector's edition of the rulebook and the regular one was. So it's more than just being hardback?
it's limited edition, hand numbered, with black edged pages, deluxe finish and we will be unlocking extra content for the book
Alpharius wrote:Have they announced prices for the miniatures and the 'faction books' yet?
Minis are £6.50 each and faction books will be £12 each - in shops they'll be £16-£18 each. We've keep the price right down for everyone

Oh yes, I'm a sucker for slightly fancier than usual books
I'm interested but like all Modiphius rpg kickstarters the amount of additional books spirals quickly and then so do costs. I'm going to have to wait and see I think. I enjoy the high quality of their products, especially the fate Cthulhu rules, but I'm a bit of a completionist, and the need for Core book, players book, gm book, campaign book and then a bunch of faction books reminds me of the crazy days of TSR.

We've actually managed to keep the supplement print book costs really low - each one will be £12 at 112 pages, then £14 or £16 if they're bigger. . and there will be a print deal with all the book with a big saving. We may roll in some later supplements in to content upgrades for the earlier books
The main book is hardback, with the player one being (currently) paperback. I can see a potential future stretch that makes it full colour and hardback (fingers crossed!).
Zond wrote: It's a low cost for a supplement, but I gather there will be one per faction?
Given the £100k goal, I would say yes to one per faction. The list in the questionnaire is a good guide of what they are aiming for: http://www.modiphius.com/surveys.html

Alpharius wrote: Don't know if we'll unlock all 8 (?) sourcebooks at that pace!
So far there seems to be about £15k between source books, so if it keeps up the same gaps and there aren't any other books in the lineup, we'd need to reach £205,000. With £67k in 9 hours, we're looking pretty good.
Achtung! Cthulhu took about 23 days of the campaign to reach this level.
Mutant Chronicles took 16 days... so I think we're going to do pretty well with this one, especially once we start getting some of the faction books and the special ltd boxes unlocked. We're also supposed to get more Bostria levels for each source book, so those will give us nice boosts
Automatically Appended Next Post: I missed the social goals unlocked too.
We now have conversion rules for porting your rpg character onto the tabletop and some pregenerated characters that are based upon the 4 original CB characters.

The email the other day said they wouldn't be charging shipping. But then in the pledge manager area it says you can organise to pay for shipping.
Confused - is shipping a standard thing and Modiphius are just paying it for each backer, or did they change their mind?
The pledge I was looking at (Core book in print, all PDFs, all miniatures) comes to roughly $200au. Which I might be able to justify to the missus. But if I'm paying expensive shipping on top of that, definitely not.
edit - shipping is 15 pounds to Australia for the book and minis. That's not too bad. Looking further at the minis, I only really want the Haqqislam and Yu Jing models. Not a fan of the others, and I only actually play Haqqislam. And I don't think we'd use miniatures to play the RPG anyway. That brings it to $175au inscluding shipping, which isn't too bad.
I would assume so. The second stretch goal was to add that to any pledge with a core book, which the Print and PDF master has.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Any idea what psywar is? Infowar is hacking and anything hacker related, but I don't recall anything resembling psywar.
Does the PDF master count as having a core? Or do you need to spring for a printed core book?
Automatically Appended Next Post: Question about character design:
A lot of noise has been made about the (admittedly fantastic) RPG miniatures. However, does character creation lend itself towards the current military units in the game?
If for example, I wanted to run a campaign where my players were a Hassassin team working their way through some areas of Bourak infiltrated by Nomad military forces trying to steal Silk, would the character creation tools cover what's available for Infinity, or would we have to put together 'best fits' of what's there?

They didn't change their mind. The email said they wouldn't be charging shipping *during the campaign*, but would be doing so afterwards. This is becoming a standard Kickstarter thing for 2 reasons. 1) It means that they can accurately charge you what the parcel will cost based on what you pick in the pledge manager, so you are not paying £30 postage for one figure and a dice and 2) It means that kickstarter doesn't try to take a large chunk of the postage and packing costs

Yes you will. When it gets unlocked it will appear in the pledge calculator so you can see the costs and work it into your pledge amount.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, the Shadow Affairs campaign is now unlocked thanks to the overnight excitement with more Bostria levels and some geomorphic tiles have been added as the £115k level.
The tiles are of a devastated Paradiso and are being created by Hennig Ludvigsen, who did the A!C tiles, Descent, Imperial Assault and Mansions of Madness; so we know they will be very pretty! IF this is anything like the A!C campaign, these will be in the pdf pledge and as an add-on.

Fair enough, this will be my first kickstarter, so I'm not familiar with the intricacies of shipping and ever changing packages rewards cause.

The PDF Master does unlock the minis add ons, you don't need a printed core book. Yes absolutely you can build exactly what you want - I'd suggest getting the supplement for what you want as it will contain most of the forces specialist info, but even with the core book you'll be able to stat them up easily.
Alpharius wrote:Hell of a first day - congrats!
And so, I take this back:
Alpharius wrote: Don't know if we'll unlock all 8 (?) sourcebooks at that pace!
We should see all 8 and then some unlocked!
Yes lots to come yet :-0)
Dentry wrote:Will we be able to upgrade or add-on print copies of specific faction books?
I went in for a print core book and all PDFs but I might want to grab a print Nomad book also.
Yes as we unlock each one, just add the print cost (we update the Add Ons and send in an update) to include it in your pledge, or choose one of the ALL THE BOOKS pledges coming soon
Vain wrote:I am assuming so, but until they are unlocked and get put into the pledge calculator it looks like we will have to wait and see.
We'll get them added to the calculator today!
AndrewGPaul wrote:Depending on whether the tiles use a grid, and how obtrusive it is, they might be good for use in the wargame, too.
Apologies if this is answered in the Kickstarter page; what sort of background info will be in the core book and in the supplements? I'm really interested in the day-to-day details of Yu Jing (since that's the army I have for the wargame), and the sort of thing I'm after is the daily life of their citizens - architecture, government, culture, etc. Is that ort of thing likely to be in the core book, or should I look to the "nation" books (if that's the way you're organising things)?
Secondary to that would be details on the military - how many troops are there in a Celestial Guard, Zanshi or Zúyong squad, what sort of special weapons to they carry, are hackers, doctors, etc embedded at squad level or are they higher-level assets? How many squads to a platoon, platoons to a company, etc? What to the various military units do in peacetime (would civilians be used to seeing HI troops on city streets, for example?)

I'm also kind of tempted by the faction dice, but I don't know what they'll look like.
No clue to the first one I'm afraid.
WRT the second, just a guess, but I'd be surprised if the dice deviate much from what's been released already (PanO, Nomad and Ariadna), that is faction coloured with a faction symbol in place of the 1.
It'd be nice to get a little more variety, like the sectorial symbols too.
It looks like the £130k goal has been stuck into the graphic now. It is a Paradiso gazetteer, covering Paradiso and the star system around it as well as mass space battle rules.
The social goals have also unlocked another one: 8 pages of an original adventure played by the CB team. This will be expanded with future social goals

There is supposed to be a primer pdf going up in the next week or two that shows the system off. You could also look up some reviews of the Mutant Chronicles RPG 3rd Edition as this uses the same 2D20 mechanics, or ask on their forum: http://www.modiphius.com/forum.html#/
Earlier on today in the comments Chris mentioned that some Dire Foes packs may be unlocked during the campaign as add-ons. He didn't say if these were existing or new ones though. I guess we will find out when we get there
£100k is now breached and the Nomads book is unlocked!
So at this point, if I want actual print books (rather than the PDFs) I'm better off going for the basic £20 or £40 'print book' levels (depending on what bonus add-ons I want) and then selecting the other books as add-ons?
Pacific wrote: So at this point, if I want actual print books (rather than the PDFs) I'm better off going for the basic £20 or £40 'print book' levels (depending on what bonus add-ons I want) and then selecting the other books as add-ons?
At this point, yes. If you only want PDFs of the books you buy, go for the cheaper level. If you want pdfs of everything as well as any print books you add on, then o for the higher.
The £100k has added 8 pages of additional character options to the Player book (and should also have unlocked an A!C adventure. The £140k level has been added to the image too. When we get up there, a free printed Player's book comes with every hard copy core rulebook. We are supposed to be getting a new, bigger, pledge level tonight. I'm not sure if it is the box set or the Master Print (all print books) at the moment, but either way it should give the campaign a nice boost.
I wish I'd gone for the master print level in the A!C campaign as the books are soooo pretty.
OK thanks Endtransmission, will go for the £40 for now (just to do my little bit! ) and see how it develops.
Must say I'm impressed by how quickly this has got up to this total. I know it will level off in the coming week but it's definitely a promising start.

Yes it's more cultural, secret organisations, planet info, plots etc. Not so much the military units that you already have lots of info on. The nation or Faction books massively expand on that along with dedicated character generation and new rules, planets and much more. It's not a military sourcebook though, the purpose of these books is to give you lots of storyline on the universe, and reveal stuff - ships, vehicles, planets, plots etc

I'm also kind of tempted by the faction dice, but I don't know what they'll look like.
We're hopefully showing off samples later tomorrow. You don't need hit location dice - the character sheets will have the d20 roll and there's optional rules to simplify and do without hit locations

I would suspect significantly more at the rate we're going
Mutant Chronicles "all in" book pledge was £400 for 18 books, including the ltd edition core book (plus all the A!C books in pdf, a pdf art book and a Savage Worlds conversion guide for MC)
I also missed that as part of the £100k goal, the Player's guide and character sheet is going to be translated in to Spanish. Future goals will hopefully expand this out to the core rulebook as well.

- Collectors edition core
-GM Guide
-Shadow Affairs campaign
-Paradiso Planet guide
-Nomad guide
-Ariadna guide
-PanO guide
-Aleph guide
-Yu Jing guide
-Haqq guide
-Tohaa guide
-Combined Army guide
-Technology of the Human Sphere
-Ships of the Human Sphere
-Tactical Armoured gears
-The O-12 files
-War Market Mercs sourcebook
-Acheron Cascade campaign
-Adventures in the Human Sphere collection
-Nebula of Mirrors campaign
-Hypercorps
-Player's Guide
*phew* That is a long list. There is a note that some of these may be combined, but there will be at least 112 pages *per title* listed above, so that is a minimum of ((112 x 21)+368) = 2720 pages of goodness in print.. plus all 6 models *and* all the pdfs. You will get all those, even if they are not unlocked during the campaign as they are going to be produced too. I think I can easily wave goodbye to The Others for that
I like the other new pledge level too.
Now for Faction Fanatics (tabletop Infinity Players) - you can now get the £18 FACTION FANATIC pledge which gets you a Printed Faction book of your choice (for example Nomad, or PanOceania) to fill you in on your favourite group, an RPG miniature of your choice plus the Player's Guide in PDF which is now going to include the conversion rules to take your RPG characters on to the tabletop! So create a hero with the Player's Guide, then convert them to a tabletop character to fight in your next game! In addition you will also be able to purchase extra Add On's of Miniatures for £6.50 each (along with any other Add-On's you want).
Oh. Floor tiles are now unlocked as well. Onwards to the Paradiso book to go with them. These are a £20 add-on. Given Hennig's past work, these will be gorgeous... and absolutely perfect for Imperial Assault as well as any sci-fi game
PsychoticStorm wrote: Do you plan on making a get everything add on for non book items?
I love completionist simply add this options.
They have confirmed that there will be a "get everything" level later on when there are more add-ons that are not book related. Look at the Mutant Chronicles KS as an example of this.

Most things will be yes. I think the only things that won't are the limited core book and the 6 figures at the moment.
The Ariadna faction book is now on the future goals list at £155k.
It seems the all-in book level is pretty popular with 50 takers already

Yes mostly - the collectors book is limited edition, but most stuff will be from our site, at slightly higher prices of course. You will also have time to add them as a backer before we ship so you can spread out the costs

I believe they are scenarios to allow you to recreate their original adventures. I'd suspect that the 4 characters unlocked earlier also go with the scenarios.

This sourcebook releases their full potential with specialized TAG Warfare Rules, a TAG Equipment Guide, and guidelines for running campaigns starring TAG pilots and their incredible war machines.
112-page colour softback sourcebook with specialized TAG Warfare Rules, an extensive equipment guide (including dozens of TAGs and dronbots), and detailed guidelines for running TAG-focused campaigns.
I might not ever get to play this game IRL, but if someone wants to GM it online, I'd happily play a JOTUM pilot!
I have never used kickstarter (and to be honest I lack any understanding why I should chuck out 300 quid on something I have no idea what soever if it will be good anyway). Are all the items going to be available in regular shops as well, apart from the minis? When are they going to be released then?
as to when they'd get to stores take the estimated KS release date and add6-9 months at least, and that would be for the main book and maybe one or two of the others,
expect the rest to trickle out piecemeal after that as I would not expect a stores to want to order a huge pile of new books for a brand new game at once
tommse wrote: I have never used kickstarter (and to be honest I lack any understanding why I should chuck out 300 quid on something I have no idea what soever if it will be good anyway). Are all the items going to be available in regular shops as well, apart from the minis? The point of kickstarter is to supply designers/creators with money to get their projects off the ground. To take them from concept stage to finished product. It's a little like Dragons' Den, if you want to "back" a project, you can do, at different levels depending on what "reward" you want from the project. IIRC you can never get stock etc. through KS, the rewards are all products, some KS exclusive to entice you to back them. Naturally, KS takes a % of any money paid to the creator (they have to be funded somehow).
Some companies use KS as a pre-order platform to fund tooling up new ideas, essentially eliminating the risk of developing a new product. While not strictly what KS was set up for, these big fish tend to be massive (I'm looking at you Zombicide) and supply the money to KS so that the smaller products/ideas can also be hosted. So they are largely tolerated.
Most of the items will eventually be available in stores, as a KS backer you will nearly always get your items first, before they ship to stores. Where something is KS Exclusive, you can only get it by backing the project and choosing (or just getting) it as a reward.
BIG DISCLAIMER
There is an element of risk involved, some projects fail.
While you won't be charged any money if the project doesn't reach its total, if the project is successfully funded but something else happens, you could end up out of pocket or receiving something of lesser quality than the designer promised.
Speaking personally, I've had no projects outright fail on me, but almost all have run late (2-3 months) and I've had two take over a year to fulfil their promises (still waiting on one now).
I did back this KS initially but the buy in was too high. KS is a gamble, which often pays out and sometimes crash and burns. In this case I don't see an incentive to take on the risk so I'll wait and judge at retail. I'd be dissapointed pledging to later find out I could have got it cheaper and quicker on Amazon. My experience with Prodos has really put me off backing other projects.

I don't think there's a lot of 'risk' here. Modiphius has already run quite a few successful Kickstarters after all.
Now, whether or not there's enough 'value' is, of course, a subjective thing!

The Kickstarted books are discounted from what they will be in retail so you're saving about £190 on final retail value - or getting around 10 books for free, and £88 saving on what you'd pay in the Kickstarter. That's only a good deal if you see yourself getting them regardless. The really good deal is always the PDF Master - £40/$60 for every PDF unlocked in the Kickstarter. The last two kickstarters we ran had those pledgers getting about £200 of PDF's so they came off well.
Timewise we're MUCH better prepared this time, much like Thunderbirds is only delivering 30 days later, the core book is all written and going in to editing, so we will be shipping in February (unless we opt for seafreight to bring down the USA/Canada and Australian shipping prices in which case add 4 week). The rest of the books are listed for shipping waves in July and October and we'll be planning the schedule as we go. Feb will likely be the core book, players guide, Shadow Affairs Campaign and a couple of supplements.
I always say don't spend the money if you're not sure - just go for one of the basic deals - you'll get all the PDF's for £40, or the core book and all the pdf's for £60 and see what you think, you can always pick up the books in retail later on (a £12 Faction Book will be around £16-18 in retail).
£140k has now been unlocked, thanks to some more Art pledges being unlocked this afternoon. This gives a free printed player's Guide with every core rulebook ordered (assuming you want it as it does increase postage costs).
So for those of us with the All-In Print level, that is 2 copies we now get.

Actually it might not be far off as far as the faction books go :-)
Having never used kickstarter before - I assume you do add-ons when the kickstarter is finished? I went to manage my pledge and couldn't find a way to include add-ons anywhere.
For add-on's that you want, you basically just up your pledge amount by the cost of whatever you want to add.
Then, when the pledge survey and/or manager comes around, you match up your pledged funds with the particular items that you wanted to add on.
Plus, their pledge manager will allow you to add funds after the KS for add-ons also. This is normally not the case, as a lot of KS projects only allow your funds pledged by the close of the campaign.
And yes.. I'm an Ariadna guy
I will certainly be happy seeing more items unlocked and added to my current pledge (Print book+ unlocked PDF's).
Hey -Loki-, the general rule for these is to increase your total pledge to the amount of all the stuff you want.
Say you want 87 pounds of loot, starting with a 60 pound pledge level. Then pick the 60 pound pledge level and put your total pledge to 87 pounds.
They have a nifty calculator to let you know what the total amount is. This means all the extra stuff people want goes towards the total and helps unlock more things.
"Hey guys we've been listening to you and decided to boost the value of the ALL THE BOOKS in Print & PDF Pledge.
Whilst it only includes PHYSICAL books (and their PDFS) plus the 6 miniatures, we will also include the following:
•PDFS of all Geo-morphic Tiles sets listed as Stretch Goals in the Kickstarter (whether unlocked or not)
•PDF's of all Card Decks unveiled as Add On's in the Kickstarter
•PDF of the GM Screen and all contents.
This boosts the value of the £300 pledge by a considerable amount and is thanks for those of you who've gone the extra mile to support us - we really appreciate it."

CE initial pledge
7 additional miniatures (full set for me, Haqq and Yu Jing for my brother)
2 sets of faction dice (one for me, one for my brother)
1 set each of location and action dice
$430au. fething ouch. At least my brothers stuff drops $70 off that, but still, wow. The Australian dollar is worth dogshit these days.
If I was a really big fan of the art or background of one faction, but didn't play them/didn't intend to play the game, then yeah I'd say that's a decent pick.
The Yu Jing book opens up at £200,000; after that the £18 Faction Fanatic pledge level will allow you to get the Yu Jing faction book and model plus the player's guide as a PDF. The campaign is currently at £161,922.
If you already have a pledge, you can just add on the book minus mini for £12; depending on if you're already getting the mini as a free add on elsewhere.
At the "Pledge Manager" point (after the campaign closes) you can ADD money, and pick what you want, but you cannot get money back, unless the creator chooses to offer you a refund.
Today we're unlocking some cool Add Ons - the Dire Foes Miniatures & RPG Adventure, which also unlock a bonus PDF and Print book for those with all the PDF's or all the books in their pledges!
Check out the new Contents graphic to see what you actually get in each pledge. This will be getting better with each passing day and hopefully makes somethings clearer - for example that the Dire Foes & All The Books Pledges get all the benefits of the PDF Subscription. The PDF Subscription includes all pdf's such as GM Screen, Card Decks and Geomorphic Tiles.
Those of you who play the tabletop Infinity game will know of the Dire Foes Mission Packs. These 3 figure packs offer you extra choices for RPG miniatures and each box comes with artwork cards, miniatures background and a downloadable miniatures game scenario. Check out the 5 packs further down this update.
We're now offering these along with a printed book : The Dire Foes Adventures. This 40 page colour softback adventure offers all 15 characters from the 5 packs as playable characters or villains plus 5 short adventures based on their stories. You can pick up one set and the printed book for £30 or all five sets along with the book for £110
For those who already have one or more of the Dire Foes miniatures packs, you can get just the Dire Foes Adventure Book for £10
Have a look at what you get in each of the Dire Foes Mission Packs below. Note that references to the Mission Dossier are for the miniatures game use and miniatures are unpainted and unassembled.
We've got an announcement coming for a bonus printed Adventure Book for those with the Printed Core Book in their Pledge when we hit 2000 backers which is going to boost the value yet again and tomorrow we'll also be posting more about the 2d20 system for you.
Enjoy!
Chris, Modiphius
It doesn't look like the Dire Foes packs or books is included with the "All the Books" Pledge so these appear to be separate add-ons.
The Dire Foes book is included in the "All the print" level or all the PDF levels. The figure sets and the CB pdfs that go with them, however, are not as those do not belong to Modiphius and are not part of the rpg.
I'm really happy that the Print level also gets the pdf subscription too.

PDF Subscription gets every PDF, ALL The Books gets every book announced - there's nothing in the kickstarter you won't get so that's easy :-)
Question for you helpful souls who've had experience with modiphus' kickstarters in the past, how is this tracking as far as progress goes? Is it in line with previous kickstarters, has the Infinity brand helped push it ahead, basically how are we going!
Don't forget that Modiphius are also taking paypal orders for the kickstarter that are not currently visible. At the end of the campaign they will be adding that total onto the overall KS total and unlocking any extra stretches based upon the overall total... so we have mystery boost at the end from that too.
While the Infinity one may feel slow, even the slowest days so far have exceeded some of the higher days in the MC and A!C campaigns. I was kind of surprised we didn't see a large jump with the Dire Foes boxes being added though. It looks like people either aren't interested, or already have them all.
I think we will see quite a few of the 126 $1 backers up to either the £40 all pdf or higher near the end. I would also expect a few people to jump up to the "EVERYTHING!!" level when that gets unlocked nearer the end.
A really fantastic update, everything I learn gets me more and more excited for it! This seems like a really interesting way to do character creation, and depending on the GM you'll be able to pick more or less of it and it'll just be so good!
Update 22
Here's a walkthrough creating a character with the Infinity Lifepath. This is the final section of the rules getting tweaked by the background team so it's full of Infinity flavour but we've got enough to generate a cool character - so here goes!
The Infinity Lifepath has been designed to let you create the characters you want through spending points or letting the whims of fate decide their role in this epic story.
All characters receive five Life Points to help them navigate the tumultuous nature of their personal histories. Each Life Point has a specific effect dependant on the table they are rolling on. The lifepath is broken into player Decisions. At each Decision point, a player must decide how many Life Points they will invest or simply let the dice decide!
Lifepath Decisions. Right so let's get started. I'm going full random on this just so you can see how it works! I always create a character in my RPG's called Brandon Carter. He was my first D&D character aged 9 and since then he's kind of stuck with me.
Decision One – Select Starting Attributes. Lower attributes to raise others. Option to spend one to five Life Points to raise one to five Attributes.
A character begins with a score of 7 in each attribute: Agility, Awareness, Co-ordination, Intelligence, Willpower, Personality, Physique, and Strength. I want Brandon to be better prepared for ranged combat and piloting so I'm going to drop his Willpower by 1 and increase Co-ordination by 1. I figure he's a little reckless to explain the drop in his Willpower. That'll do for now.
Decision Two – Determine Birth Faction. Gain Skills, Talent, Languages & Faction Event. Option to spend one Life Point to pick result.
I roll a 6 and get Nomads! I get Shipboard Patois and any one other language. I think he had a girlfriend from Neoterra once. It didn't last long but he learnt English as a result - she'd teach him at the most annoying times but it worked. I get the Hacking and Vacuum skills at Expertise rank 1. I can pick one to be my Signature skill (which means it can have Expertise and Focus up to 5 instead of 3). My gut feeling says he'll need to be good at Hacking so I gain 1 Focus in Hacking as well (I now critically succeed on a 1 on my skill rolls). I also gain the first Hacking Talent (we'll cover those another time). Looks like Brandon messed around with computers when he was a kid, probably got in a bit of trouble now and again. Growing up a Nomad everyone needs to know Vacuum in case of emergencies so it was one of the first things he learned.
Decision Three – Determine Home World. Gain Attribute Bonus, Skills, Earnings Rating, Items of Interest, Apparel & Lodging. Option to spend one Life Point to pick the result.
I roll a 16 and discover Brandon grew up in the Human Edge, he gains a point in Willpower (now back to 7) and Personality (now 8) and Tech skill rank 1. Brandon's Assets will be equal to his final Personality score. (8 now but we use the final level at the end of Character Generation). Earnings Rating is 0 at the moment as he doesn't have a job.
Decision Four – Determine Social Environment. Gain Attribute Bonus, Skills, Equipment, or Resource. Option to spend one Life Point to pick the result.
I roll a 3 and find out he grew up in a Poor Neighbourhood - figures coming from the Human Edge. Brandon gains a point in Brawn or Willpower - I go for Brawn (now 8) and he get's Expertise rank 1 in the Resistance skill. I then find out a youth event - rolling a 15 I get 'Gained an extended family' under Poor Neighbourhood. So I'm thinking Brandon got adopted by someone from one of the Nomad ships during a trading visit to the Human Edge. Why though?...
Decision Five – Determine Education. Gain Attribute Bonuses, Skills, Talents, Free Career Picks, and Equipment. Option to spend One Life Point to pick the result. Roll for Adolescent Event. Option to spend one Life Point to re-roll or, with GM approval, pick the result.
Rolling a 6, Brandon received military training from an early age with Nomad. He gains two points to Brawn (now 9), 1 to Agility (now 10) and 1 to Intelligence (now 8). He also gains an Expertise rank in two out of Education, Tech and Command. I'm going with a second rank in Tech bringing it to 2, then Education so he knows stuff. I then gain five Mandatory skills: 1 Expertise Rank each in Ranged Weapons, Close Combat, Observation, Acrobatics & Athletics. I also choose one of these skills to become another Signature Skill. Let's go with Ranged Weapons, I improve that by a further rank to 2 and gain the first Ranged Weapons talent. All that time practising on the firing range trying to forget about her...
For Brandon's military training he gains a military dress uniform (Armour 1), a Dress Pistol (a basic Nomad pistol) and a combat knife.
Next I check for an Adolescent event. Rolling a 16 I find out Brandon had a terrible childhood accident - now that's why he left the Human Edge. I'm thinking he lost his parents in the accident and someone from one of the Nomad ships took him in. The accident has left him partially disabled. Movement related skill tests are one difficulty harder but all Willpower tests are one difficulty lower (minimum 1). He's come through the fire...
Decision Six – Determine Primary Career. You must begin with a Primary Career, and you may take no more than three career phases in total, including Iconic Careers (see Decision Seven, below). Gain Attribute Bonuses (first Career only), Skills, Signature Skill, Talent, and Equipment. Update Earnings Rating. Spend one or two Life Points to pick the result. Mark Age as 16 and increase by 1d6+1 years for each Career phase. Option to be unemployed and regain up to two Life Points. Roll for Career Event after each Career phase. Option to spend one Life Point to re-roll or, with GM approval, pick the result.
Brandon begins the career's decision phase at aged 16 and gains 5 years for his first career choice (roll 4+1). The first Primary Career roll is a 5 - Technical (repairman) - I think in the military. Brandon gains 2 points in Agility, 2 points in Awareness, 1 point in Co-Ordination, 2 points in Intelligence, 0 points in Willpower, 1 point in Personality and 2 points in Brawn. He picks ups skill ranks in Tech, Pilot and Thievery for his Mandatory skills. Then for his Elective skill he chooses two from Observation, Resistance or Discipline. I reckon Observation and Resistance will come in handy. He get's an Earnings Rating of 1 and a Basic tool Kit or Breaking & Entering kit. I think the Tool kit is more useful at the moment. So he's gotta prove himself first so Nomad assign him to tech duties - helping out on hacking and tech projects keeping their teams well looked after. He comes through though and gains valuable skills.
Before we move on we roll for a Career Event. Brandon knows someone who's a criminal and he can't turn them in. Ah! The girl from NeoTerra of course. He gains the trait Blackmailed but I figure he's just can't face turning her in. Maybe she was on the other side on a job and he let her go because of their past together. What happens if command find out? I think there's a deeper story here and would discuss it with the GM as he can use it as a plot seed for my character.
Decision Seven – Iconic Career. Check prerequisites for entry. May spend one to three Life Points to reduce cost of entry. Gain Skills, Signature Skill, Talent, and Equipment.
For the next career phase his age increases again. This adds another 1d6+1 years to Brandon's age for a total of 6 so he's now 27 years old. I roll on the Iconic careers for Nomad and get a 1 for Military (Special Forces)! Brandon must roll a Skill check to enter the Special Forces with a difficulty of 2. He chooses to test against Ranged Weapons and scores two successes on his shooting test. BAM! He's on the team!
Brandon is back in training and gains 2 points in Agility, 2 points in Awareness, 2 point in Co-Ordination, 1 point in Intelligence, 1 point in Willpower, 0 point in Personality and 2 points in Brawn. He picks ups skill ranks in Survival, Resistance and Ranged Weapons for his Mandatory skills. Then for his Elective skills he chooses two from Close Combat, Hacking or Discipline. Close Combat and Hacking are right for Brandon he's turning in to a right tough Hacker type! Nomad quickly saw his value as a fighter with a strong instinct for data and sensitive equipment.
His pay grade went up as he get's an Earnings Rating of 2 and an armoured paramilitary uniform with supplemental armour plating, a standard model Combi Rifle with 2 reloads and Chameleonic Clothing. Now he's ready!
Let's check the Career event for this phase. 17 - Marooned in space! Brandon is one of the only survivors of a disaster aboard a ship. It took time to recover afterwards, possibly recovering from sickness or wounds. We add a year to his career so he's now 28 and he's gained the trait Space Sickness. If he play's this up during gameplay it's a way to gain Infinity Points that he can use to do awesome things.
Decision Eight – Final Customisation. Gain 2 Infinity points. May convert up to two Life Points for two extra Infinity points. Further Life Points maybe converted to Assets or new Skills. Gain two Attribute bonuses, two Skill increases and one Talent. Determine Derived Stats: Bonus Ranged and melee Damage and Influence. Determine Starting Vigor and Resolve. List character traits and, optionally, determine relationship to other characters in the group.
I decide to stop there, I could go on for up to another career but this feels right. Here's where Brandon is now:
Agility 11 (Acrobatics 1, Close Combat 2)
Brawn 14 (Athletics 1, Resistance 3)
Co-Ordination 11 (Pilot 1, Ranged Weapons 3)
Awareness 11 (Observation 2, Survival 1, Thievery 1, Vacuum 1)
Intelligence 11 (Education 1, Hacking 2/1, Tech 3)
Personality 8
Willpower 8
So I still have my 5 Life Points. I get 2 Infinity Points and may convert up to two Life Points to Infinity Points which I think is a great idea. That leaves me with 3. I'm going to use the remaining 3 Infinity points to add some Focus to my skills. I add Focus 1 to Ranged Weapons, add 1 to Hacking (making it 2) and 1 to Tech.
I can now add two extra points to my Attributes - I think I'll boost Personality to 9 (which increases my Assets to 9) and increase Co-Ordination to 12.
I can increase two skills from Focus 0 to Focus 1 or Expertise 0 to Expertise 1. I think Brandon is going to need some help with Close Combat so I add 1 rank in Focus and I choose to add Medicine Expertise 1 just in case...
Then I can choose one final Talent - he goes for the first Tech Talent.
Agility 11 (Acrobatics 1, Close Combat 2/1)
Brawn 14 (Athletics 1, Resistance 3)
Co-Ordination 12 (Pilot 1, Ranged Weapons 3/1)
Awareness 11 (Observation 2, Survival 1, Thievery 1, Vacuum 1)
Intelligence 11 (Medicine 1, Education 1, Hacking 2/2, Tech 3/1)
Personality 9
Willpower 8
You'll notice I'm showing Expertise/Focus above. On the character sheet it's nice and clear of course. You'll add Expertise to your attribute - in my case a Ranged Combat skill check will be Co-Ordination 12 + 3 Ranged Weapon Expertise = 15 or less. If I score my Focus - a 1 - I get a critical which counts as two successes instead of 1.
Then we have:
Earnings Rating 2 - my on-going access to funds
Assets 9 - based on Personality - my saved funds
Traits: Blackmailed, Space Sickness, Disability (+1 Movement difficulty / -1 Willpower difficulty)
Gear: Dress uniform, Pistol, Knife, Armoured paramilitary uniform with supplemental armour plating, a standard model Combi Rifle with 2 reloads and Chameleonic Clothing, basic Tool Kit.
Talents: Ranged Weapons 1, Hacking 1, Tech 1
Finally Brandon get's some bonuses.
Ranged Weapon Damage: 2 Combat Dice (added to any weapons combat dice)
Close Combat Damage: 4 Combat Dice (added to any weapons combat dice)
Influence Bonus: 1 Combat Dice
Resolve: 8 (Willpower plus Discipline Expertise) He's had a rough time of things so it's one of his weaker Attributes, but his determination should see him through (see his Disability).
Vigor: 17 (Brawn plus Resistance Expertise) He's one tough nut!
How does Brandon know you guys? I roll and check: Well we were betrayed on a previous contract and we lost mutual friends. Now someone is going to pay!
So that's an example character. The story leaps off the page as you go, they'll be a lot more faction flavour in there shortly and it's pretty quick. If you know what you want it's super fast to fill in. Otherwise roll and enjoy and let your imagination unfold a new hero!
Enjoy!
Chris, Modiphius
Someone remind me - IF everything announced isn't unlocked in this campaign anyone pledging for any of the "Get it all" pledges still....gets it all, correct?
And does this include everything on that rather large list, like the book on T.A.G.s?

Yes in the Pledge it does state the following:
If not unlocked you'll receive books as they are produced
INCLUDES:
Collectors Edition Core Book
Gamemasters Guide
Shadow Affairs Campaign
Paradiso Planet Book
All Factions Books (Nomad, Ariadna, PacOceania, Aleph, Yu Jing, Haqqislam, Tohaa, Combined Army)
Technology of the Human Sphere
Ships of the Human Sphere
Tactical Armoured Gears
The 0-12 Files
War Market Mercenaries Sourcebook
Acheron Cascade Campaign
Adventures in the Human Sphere Collection
Nebula of Mirrors Campaign
Hypercorps
The Players Guide
*Please note some titles may be combined but page counts will be minimum 112 pages per listed title.
i'm confused...
it looks like i can get the Player's Guide, and the six minis, but not the Core book and the six minis, unless i go all in...
why would i want the Player's Guide, but not the Core book???
it also looks like anyone who has pledged for the books can't double up on the minis, thus preventing me from piggybacking just for the minis...
am i missing something???
i really just want the minis, and more specifically, the Ariadna guy (with Yu-Jing and Aleph being a close second), but i would be happy with the Core book and the minis...
jah-joshua wrote: it looks like i can get the Player's Guide, and the six minis, but not the Core book and the six minis, unless i go all in...

The "Miniatures Master" pledge is basically targeted to Infinity skirmish players, not the RPG players, who only want access to the miniatures. The Player's Guide is a PDF book of fluff along with intro rules to character creation which could be used to 'hook' players into playing the RPG as well.
jah-joshua wrote: it also looks like anyone who has pledged for the books can't double up on the minis, thus preventing me from piggybacking just for the minis...
I'm not sure I understand. There is no reason to double up on the pledge. Now in the pledge manager they might allow the pledge to be added to another pledge but I don't see why anyone would want too. If you only want the miniatures, it would be better to piggyback with someone else anyways. The miniatures are only £39 (£6.50 x 6) and the base pledge for miniatures only is £49 (6 miniatures for £39 + Players PDF for £10).
Now to get the Core Book + Miniatures, that is a different story. I would probably say go RPG Core Book PDF which gets you the Core Book and Players Guide in PDF format for £20, then add the 6 miniatures as Add-ons for £39 for a total of £59. If you want print then you'd have to go RPG Core Book Print and PDF for £40 + £39 for the miniatures for a total of £79.
when i said double up, i meant that it looked like someone who had already pledged could only get six minis, not twelve...
i assume most people pledging would want the minis, too, so if i piggyback, they would have to double up on the minis...
if there is an option for extra minis as add-ons, then everything is cool...
Pretty sure they'd let you double up on minis at the pledge manager at the end. At least, I hope so, since my brother is piggy backing off me to get the Haqqislam and Yu Jing models, which I also want.

There is no minimum or maximum number of miniatures that you can order. Per their FAQ in the Kickstarter it does say at the bottom:
How many minis can i order with my pledge? As long as you are at the Faction Fanatic (£18) pledge or higher, you can order as many minis as you like.
You are good to order as many as you want, doubles and triples of the same one even.

thanks, guys...
good to know...
my old iPad doesn't like loading Kickstarter pages, with all the images, so i didn't see the FAQ...
a couple of these minis are "must paints" for me...
i never knew there was a Kickstarter App, since i have never gone in on a Kickstarter before...
i might have to check that out...
sadly, i'm using a 1st Gen iPad, and it is even starting to get cranky with image heavy, or video heavy, pages here on Dakka:(...
you know a page has a bunch of good stuff on it when it won't load, too!!!
anyway, thanks again guys...
i'll be getting in for a few minis, at the very least...
When they talked about adding Dire Avengers boxes, I was hoping it was NEW sets. Are there any plans for a few more new minis? I think i need that to tip me over the edge and get me to pledge.

If there were new Dire Foes sets, they would not be getting released via a kickstarter. Dire Foes are regular Infinity releases.

At the moment the minis we have is all that's available for the Kickstarter - CB are extremely busy so it was great of them to make time for these 6 RPG Minis to support the project.
Yes! Best news since the Ariadna book got unlocked!
CHEAPER SHIPPING! We are going to be announcing cheaper shipping rates for at least the USA, Canada, Australia & New Zealand in the last week of the Kickstarter (which is only a week away yikes!). This will involve sea freight of the stock to the USA and a 4 week delay on delivery for each wave in order to get it to a local fulfilment house. We will likely offer an option to forego this and go with the current airmail pricing if you want the package sooner. It will just depend on the ensuring we don't make it too complex for the logistics team.
I'm so happy about that, 30 on the top for shipping had me wincing. Even if it only drops a bit I'll love it
Books are heavy - 'media mail' helps with those costs in the USA, but even if there's a single little thing in the package that isn't a book, magazine, etc. (like 1 metal miniature!), you can't use it.
Alpharius wrote: Books are heavy - 'media mail' helps with those costs in the USA, but even if there's a single little thing in the package that isn't a book, magazine, etc. (like 1 metal miniature!), you can't use it.
Wait, really? So if I want the figures I have to eat the air shipping? God damn it.
I work in that industry. Beleive me, for something bulky with decent packaging, postage is not going to be cheap if you're including books. Maybe cheaper, but not cheap.

Well just using normal shipping, not media mail in the USA from a local shipping company will be a bit cheaper - we actually ate a big chunk of the 2-30kg price ourselves for those spending a lot so it won't be a massive reduction but you'll see differences between basic core book pledges and massive 'everything' pledges
And as for your precious TAGs, remember there is always the hidden backers someone mentioned before, paypal I think it was? So if we have it as the next unlock by the time this finishes up that bump could push it over

I have faith in you!
And I forgot about the 'hidden' PayPal crew - good point!
migooo wrote:I really hope the Haqq book gets unlocked. ill get the Adriana and other bits as addons later
I think we'll get all the 'faction' books unlocked by the end, but not sure about how much more will make it.
I'm trying to scrape together the funds for an 'all in print' pledge, but that will probably have to wait until post-campaign in the PM for me.
Yeah. If the pound drops below 1:2 I don't think I'll be able to resist the 300 quid pledge as opposed to the hundred I'm on now. Just too in love with infinity haha. There's an idea, how about a freebie 300 quid pledge for me for running the thread (and I guess alph as well for updating it for me half the time) :p
Kidding, kidding of course. I'll just bank on the pound dipping/the aussie dollar growing a pair.
As the Modiphius team are now setting up at Essen and we're only a couple of hundred away from the next goal (Yu Jing), they have just updated the graphics with the next addition.
The £200 goal also unlocks 8 pages of extra content (GM plot generators) for the Ltd core book and 8 extra pages for the player book. Not sure what these extra pages are yet, I guess we will find out when Chris has the chance to do an official update.
As a big surprise to no-one, the Tohaa book will be unlocked at £245k.
I think Chris has a number of other things lined up before that
Apart from the books listed in "All Print" we know there are also goals for a character creation/conversion tool, more pages for the ltd book and more pages for the player book.
There has also been talk of more card decks, a bag, more maps and the limited boxed version of the main book.
There will also be the "get it all" pledge level towards the end once a few more add-ons are revealed apparently.
I'm currently in for All The Books, and probably everything else in the end. The idea of printed Infinity goodness arriving periodically over the next year or two is just great.
Just upped my pledge to include 2 sets of 5 of those lovely Q-workshop dice. One for my Haqqisma and one for my Tohaa. I have plenty of D20's already, but those are fantastic.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Haqqislam updated, next book added. TAGs! And geeez, 1122 pages worth of TAGs! Unless that's a typo from 112.

Yeah, Chris confirmed that it is a typo. Many people cried. As they were all at Essen over the weekend they havn't had a chance to update the graphic yet.
They have also confirmed that the ltd Box version of the rulebook should be announced on Tuesday when they are back in the office
I was running from the recendly divergent list in the pledges:
INCLUDES: Collectors Edition Core Book, Gamesmasters Guide, Shadow Affairs Campaign, Paradiso Planet Book, All Faction Books (Nomad, Ariadna, Panoceania, Aleph, Yu Jing, Haqqislam, Tohaa, Combined Army), Technology Of The Human Sphere, Ships Of The Human Sphere, Tactical Armoured Gears, The 0-12 Files, War Market Mercenaries Sourcebook, Acheron Cascade Campaign, Adventures In The Human Sphere Collection, Nebula Of Mirrors Campaign, Hypercorps
I got excited when I saw that Haww jumped over the two alien books. No one has officially said there was a specific order, this was just my assumption.
It looks like we've got an accidental preview of the non KS version of the Ariadna character. The KS version is the one shown in this image
but this one came out on the KS page yesterday and Chris confirmed that this was the wrong image. Note the pistol behind the back of the KS version and the cane on the other version.
It looks like a pretty good set, but would have been nice to have some dice in there as well to make it a complete starter kit. I will be sticking to the print level I think. The box will also be coming with the 0-12 (all-in) level that is due tomorrow with some additional add-ons.
The character and npc pads can be added on at £8 each, though there doesn't appear to be anything about this in the add-ons section of the homepage yet
We're also working on a version of All The Books that does not include the PDF Subscription, Collectors Edition or 6 Miniatures (just the free one) for those that don't want to upgrade for the full package but still want all the supplements.
Hi we've unlocked another bonus. At 2500 backers we added a bonus 8 pages to the Collector's Edition and 8 pages to the Player's Guide! Both books now have a bonus 16 pages of content.
Tonight we can unveil two more of the Card Decks! The first builds on the Wilderness of Mirrors system to give you some instant subterfuge for your game. Each card will feature a list of Agenda's for each faction giving lots of variety! PDF's of these are included in the PDF Subscription & All The Books in Print Pledges or Add Ons otherwise they're £8 as a print Add On.
The Gamesmasters Plot Deck let's you quickly build a plot by drawing a few cards. Each card features a short list of Plots, Twists, Obstacles, Enemies, Locations, Adversaries etc within the Infinity universe. Draw them to create quick scenes, elaborate adventures or inspire whole campaigns! Combine them with the Agenda's in the Wilderness of Mirror's Deck to get awesome stories. PDF's of these are included in the PDF Subscription & All The Books in Print Pledges or Add Ons otherwise they're £8 as a print Add On.
Tomorrow night we'll have the GM and Player Dice Sets and I hope to report on the latest reductions for shipping as we prepare for the final weekend plus the big O-12 Master Pledge which will get you one of everything in the Kickstarter!
We're also working on a version of All The Books that does not include the PDF Subscription, Collectors Edition or 6 Miniatures (just the free one) for those that don't want to upgrade for the full package but still want all the supplements.

That sounds delightful. Any word on how much it may cost?

@Alpharius - tonight!
If it is priced how I hope it will be, that pledge total should shoot up significantly!
Yeah, I'm still (im)patiently waiting for this one to get answered/revealed:
"We're also working on a version of All The Books that does not include the PDF Subscription, Collectors Edition or 6 Miniatures (just the free one) for those that don't want to upgrade for the full package but still want all the supplements."
This is what Alph posted about a few posts up right?
I think so?
Update #37
Oct 15 2015 O-12 Master Pledge & Upgrade, All The Books Upgrade & Dice Sets 9 Comments 5 likes
Right it's time to unveil the really big pledges. I've been holding back on these working the numbers to try to give those who want to upgrade the best value possible.
ALL THE BOOKS UPGRADE. The difference is this does not include the Collectors Edition, the Miniatures or the PDF Subscription.
O-12 MASTER! Next we have the O-12 Master Pledge. This is basically everything! It also has some great unlocks! Not only do you get everything listed in the graphic, but you also get all the unlocked Geo-morphic Floor Tiles, and all the unlocked Card Decks. This pledge saves you at least £157 on the Kickstarter prices.
Now we've also created an Add On version the O-12 Master Upgrade which is the same set but without the Collector's Edition and Core Book so if you have an existing Pledge you can simply add this. It saves you at least £117 on the items.
You'll see it includes the GM Dice Set. This set includes ten of the new O-12 d20's - please note this is a rough mockup to be replaced tomorrow! You also get 16 of the Combat Dice and a couple of Hit Location dice - enough for a GM to provide a gaming table with plenty of dice. OH! I've just noticed the GM Dice set should say Approx (€54 / $60) we'll fix that tomorrow.
Player's aren't left out. They get the Player's Dice Set with five d20's of your faction choice, a hit location dice and 8 Combat dice.
Phew.... that was quite a mission! Now we're set for the last few days. We're going to focus on more Stretch Goals being unlocked for you, more unlocks of value for the things like the Player's Guide, the GM Screen, posting a combat scene example and other smaller Add On's and art reveals. Massive thanks to our designer Gary who's been burning the midnight oil.. and some, to keep all these great graphics coming for us.
Enjoy!
Chris, Modiphius
Now I just need to make sure that you still need to buy a 'core book' level and that this is an add on.
Making the REAL price for an 'all the books in print (except for the collector's edition)" pledge £240?
I'd be happier if the "ALL THE BOOKS" level meant ALL THE BOOKS for £200 though!
Decided I had to drop my pledge a bit for the add ons that I wanted :( Sad day for motyak. Had to drop the collector's edition to be able to get the map etc. But worth it, because I'll have a pretty map. Right?
And by drop my pledge I mean it ended up at 32 pounds more, so really I dropped by pledge by 40 then added 72 in add ons ha.
T.A.G.s are in before the 48 hour notice went out, so hopefully we'll blow through the Acheron Cascade book and the Ships book at the very least. £300k would be nice to unlock the extra pages in the Ltd and Player book
I want to say it was January/February for first wave, next Summer for second wave, and following October/November for last books scheduled.
Yeah, it's on the Campaign goals page, about 3/4 way down.
"There will be three main shipments of physical products. Books will be sent out in to PDF to backers as they are completed. You will be able to choose one, two even three shipments in the pledge manager.
Wave 1: The Core Book, Player's Guide PLUS other books to be unlocked PLUS The RPG Minis & Dice (Feb 2016 Print, PDF's sending from Dec 2015). North America & Australia March)
Wave 2: Books to be unlocked (July 2016, North America & Australia/New Zealand August)
Wave 3: Books and Items to be unlocked (October 2016, North America & Australia/New Zealand November) "
My gaming group seriously loved Thunderbirds when we played yesterday, there are 2 copies in the group and we had 2 games simultaneously running. Even the Star Wars fans came over (and called spots for next week) after they'd finished IA and X-Wing.
I'm looking forward to the TAG and aMerc books. I hope we'll get some art on the aerial TAGs . The Merc book I hope will have lots of art for and new mercenary companies.
I just had a play with the Mutant Chronicles character generator linked to in the update and it seems pretty comprehensive. Should be a fantastic addition to the rpg. The only addition that would be great is the ability to come back and update your character later.
motyak wrote: I may drop to my 60 basic pledge then add more afterwards, because KS don't take their money from the pledge manager do they?
More for Modiphius, less for Kickstarter, but fewer stretchgoals unlocked - maybe.
Many campaigns DO allow PM funds to unlock stretch goals.
I am curious to see how much the "PayPal" side of things is adding here...
Chris did mention the other day that the PM should also unlock goals. It is kind of tempting to drop the pledge through KS and just send it via paypal to give Modiphius more funds, but it would also be nice for them to become the highest funded new rpg on KS for bragging/advertising rights, so it is a tricky choice...
Thing is, it looks like there's way too much stuff for someone with only a casual interest in the world / universe.
I guess the kinda thing I'm looking for is the 'Yu Jing' mini, plus whichever main book or books would give me a bunch of background fluff to read through.

No, they do not! More for Modiphius, less for Kickstarter, but fewer stretchgoals unlocked - maybe. Many campaigns DO allow PM funds to unlock stretch goals. I am curious to see how much the "PayPal" side of things is adding here...
We'll definitely unlock more stretch goals from the pledge manager total less shipping paid. It should still be about 10-20%

Thing is, it looks like there's way too much stuff for someone with only a casual interest in the world / universe.

Either go with the core book Pdf to get you the main fluff and a mini add on, or the faction fanatic pledge which gets you the Yu Jing or whatever faction book you want and a mini Both also give you the player's guide in pdf with rules to create heroes and convert them to the tabletop
The 'players guide book' (which you get as a PDF) will probably have a fair amount of general background too, as will the 'core book' (which isn't included here).

I've gone with the £60 pledge that gets you the core book in print plus the mini and all the unlocked books in pdf, including the faction books.
Plenty to read for me, plus I can pick out the books I want as physical copies and get them at my local game store as they appear, so they are not losing out.
