Manorhouse Workshop launching a fantastic new project dedicated to creating Modular terrain for Wargames and skirmish.
In this new project, the material used is innovative, lightweight and indestructible. So, perfect use for which it is targeted.
Have you had a small example with a variant used to create our stone effect sheets.
In this new project we went further. In fact MHW: has devised, designed and built of the basis 30×30 cm. three-dimensional. Reproducing buildings in ruins ready to be put on the table from play. (no need of any assembly) We present the first Master.
Now we present the first result obtained with the new material.
Fantastic is not real? But, we give a closer look at the product.
As you can see: the base is hollow inside, therefore very light.
Completely flexible. You can bend without fear of ruining or break the piece
Resistant to weight. We used a weight of 900 grams in wood. The terrace is not squashed or deformed from weight.
Personally I find this amazing material both in copying perfectly the master, both in its robustness while remaining very flexible.
more news soon about the project.
All the best. Lorenzo
judgedoug wrote: This looks amazing, and if all the pieces are 30x30cm then you can make modular tiles as well.
Any idea on price?
Hi judgedoug.
thanks for your comment.
premise: this project will be financed through Kickstarter.
This is only the presentation of the project.
but, above all of the material that will be used for the production.
yes, all the bases will be: 30x30 cm.
soon, I will present you the work in progress of an abbey with cloister in ruins formed by 6 bases 30x30 cm.
the price will be very interesting.
but at the moment we are still calculating all the costs of production ..
Thank you for the info! I am very very excited about this. I assume it's a vacuum-formed plastic? It looks much, much better than the products from Amera.
30cm x 30cm is excellent. Lightweight, modular terrain, at a cheap price, is the holy grail of terrain design. Do you have a way to clip them together to keep them from shifting during gameplay?

the material is not plastic. It is polyurethane.
and it is not made in vacuum-formed.
the piece is light, but has a higher weight of the plastic.
then once on the table is difficult that moves combined with other pieces.
However later, when we will have enough pieces to create an interesting terrain, we will do of video while we play, to show the stability of the terrain.
Definitely can't wait to see videos and other pics of the setups.
as written, we are just the beginning of the project. This first piece is a test to see how it behaves the material and having a first tangible result of the product.
by the weekend more images and information about the project.
Nephilim wrote: Look really good, I don't do fantasy only Sci Fi and Batman, do a range that fits something urban and ruined and I'll be all over that !
Hi Nephilim. thanks for your comment.
the project will also include urban sections with roads and sidewalks and houses destroyed completely, river with little harbor and etc... adapted from the Middle Ages, to the Second World War, to the present day.
the ruin that I have presented, and soon the same abbey with cloister can be used in a period from the Middle Ages at today...
willb2064 wrote: Excited to see this, will back this as I did the MUP. Test piece looks fantastic!
Thanks Willb2064.
among other things, this new project is perfectly integrated with the underground.
it can be simply placed over and cover the dungeon.
this new project it is formed from bases 30x30cm. this therefore allows you to discover only a small part of the dungeon.
After testing the material to fully understand the possibilities of work. We present you on the first set of bases dedicated to the abbey with cloister and convent in ruins.
Hereinafter you can see the work in progress of the first 4 bases of 30×30 6 that compose it.
We are working on the body of the abbey and at the cloister.
Particular: the altar it hides a secret passage.
We are still far from the end of the work, but already you can see the vast complex that will be at the end.
All the best. Lorenzo
Hope to see some stone effect sheet packs available in the KS. I'd just like to throw them onto the table and toss some terrain on it as a "battle map". The terrain table sets I've seen are way out of my budget.

Hi ced1106
there will be even they.
and also the basis 3D will be ideal to your budget, tranquil.
Hi overtyrant
the project MUP, is only been postponed to solve technical situations and improve it.
The link above leads to the new update on how painting quickly in only four passages the first basic three-dimensional .
below, you can see the final result.
But, it still lacks a particular to make it more realistic. The addition of the grass to give life to everything. All this we will see in the next update.
Hello everyone.
Completed the master of the apse of the abbey. This section is the most complex of the six bases that will make up the abbey with cloister in ruin.
I have to create minimum still 10-12 basis for think at the launching the KS.
it will take approximately 2-3 months.
the 3rd base is almost completed.
The six bases series of that compose the abbey with the cloister, are certainly the most complex. are also the "package" more palatable.
then, I'll create the modular standard bases. like: rivers, roads, stone pavement, fields...
Of course, there will be other attractive packages, like: cemetery in ruins and destroyed village... but we'll talk in its time.
bubber wrote: Would love to have a whole board that's the inside of a massive cathedral.
Hi @Bubber. tthanks for your comment. make the inside of a large cathedral would be great. but it is too complex and also with the dimensions in scale 28mm. they would be awesome and uneconomical.
Hi @Gallahad. thanks. I will keep you informed of the progress of the project and the timing for the launch of KS.
Hello everyone.
Begins to take shape even the cloister of the abbey or at least what’s left. The ruins of the cloister will be subdivided over four different bases that will also include the crumbling walls of the monastery...
plastictrees wrote: Exciting stuff.
Any sense of a timeline for release/funding?
HI plastictrees.
thanks.
there are still at least a dozen bases from create, before that we are able to launch the Kickstarter.
we believe not earlier than January-February.
to be informed in real time of the progress of the project, subscribe to our blog:
We are increasing our commitment to the completion of the 3D Bases project, and this will continue for the next weeks up to its completion.
Here is the 5th base, completed and painted.
Do you have info on material, possible product or project launch date, and what you see these being used for? They almost seem aimed at a bit of a dungeon crawl, but are less modular than some other options... but if the price is good that could be fine. However, they look like they'll be expensive to produce and ship!

Hi @RiTides. below you can find the link to the first post dedicated to the project and to the material and how to work and finish the piece.
these bases are ideal for skirmish, RPG, board games with miniatures in 28 mm.
but we will make still rivers, roads, open terrain to create great battlegrounds for battle systems.
in the next article that we will publish on our blog, we will give more information about the prices of the bases during the KS.
Hi everybody,
Here we are showing you the first “simple” base (cobblestones) and also the 6th base of the abbey (still in work in progress), which will complete the overall structure of the cloister and convent.
Now let’s speak more in details about the project, about the KS and how it will be organized!
All the items will be divided into 3 different price ranges...
How thick are the basees? They need to be connected somehow to each other tile or they will move apart at a slight knock of the table, whats your plan for this?
Hi to everyone.
We finally completed the Abbey with the ruined cloister.
The full planimetry of the building is composed of 6 tridimensional Bases, each one measuring 30×30 cm and with a maximum height of 7-8 cm...
Great stuff, I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on these, though I'll need 9. Will you be doing some sort of connection for each tile as I can see these being knocked constantly.
overtyrant wrote: Great stuff, I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on these, though I'll need 9. Will you be doing some sort of connection for each tile as I can see these being knocked constantly.
Thanks for your comment.
Yes, the bases are side by side each other without any special junctions.
soon we will see the videos that explain how to use the bases to improve their use while you play and their eventual storage.
Cool stuff, but how do 50 & 60mm bases fit on the denser tiles?
sorry, but my english is not perfect. I did not understand your question.
Update #14 – The Abbey of the Living Dead.
Hi everyone!
Today we are showing the potentialities of our 3D Bases with Zombicide!
Zombicide is a game with predefined scenarios and maps, but it’s always possible to create new ones, following your creativity.
We thus prepared the 6 bases of the Abbey, and divided them into zone areas, for a personalized scenario of Zombicide.
To demarcate the areas, we used some simples colored pieces of paper, but any other method of your liking can be used.
Here is the full game area...
Hi everyone.
Today it’s time to dust off one of the most known RPG of the whole gaming universe: D&D. In the long life of this fantastic game, players went from playing with simple paper sheets to complete tridimensional terrain, passing through some artistic play mats.
With our 3D Bases we want to show you how awesome playing on a tridimensional terrain can be.
With the help of our dear friend and contributor David Destefanis, who brought the amazing miniatures (some of the brands: Reaper, Dark Sword, Avatar of Wars) that you will see in those pictures, we are showing us a short game report...

It sounds like you're on a phone.
Are you on a phone?
iPad, unfortunately.
Good for casual web checking, bad for this type of stuff...
Hi everyone,
Today we have to show the results of a ungrateful job.
We need to test the resistance of the 3D Bases. Brrr…. We shudder just thinking about it.
Let’s start with throwing the base on the ground and step on it repeatedly with some strong working (and quite dirty) shoes…
… then, after stepping on it for a while, you realize you just need a wet cloth to clean the base and bring it back to its former glory.
Amazing. Try to do the same with any other material. 1 to 0 for the 3D Bases.
In the second video we want to get more brutal with the our bases.
The first test is “crumple and rub” with my “delicate” hands…
Hi everyone,
On some of the forums people are asking : “but do the bases have a fixation system between one another ?”
The answer is: they don’t fix to each other. The material they’re made of is not too light and the other side of the base is glossy.
This allows a natural adherence on all surfaces (like a table, or on a tablecloth).
The first video will allow you to understand fully what we mean.
We did throw 2 bases on our table. One flat (Cobblestones base) and one tridimensional (Column Ruins base). The result ? When they land on the table they land firmly in place and do not glide over...
Hi everyone!
We have important news about our 3D Bases Kickstarter for you!
We are completing our Kickstarter page as we speak, where you will be able to subscribe and comment, before the official launch (which will be in April). In the meantime, here is a sneak peak: the launch video of our Kickstarter!
Created by Fabio Paulotto.
Our 3D Bases Kickstarter will produce a series of different tiles (each 30×30 cm), which will allow you to create an infinite variation of battlegrounds for your favorite miniature game!...
Uriels_Flame wrote: Still no price point yet? 6x4 would be 24 tiles for my gaming board. Typical 3x3 for skirmish games.
Kick it off and let's check it out.
soon will be ready the test page to Kickstarter. we will be published the link to soon.
together with the test page. will be published all pledges, add-ons e prices.
the material is not hard plastic.
It can be painted and finished.
I hope you've worked out shopping cost estimates, as that seems like it will be the real hurdle (for non-EU folks, at least). Looking forward to checking it out!
Necros wrote: Looking forward to it
For those ruins, it looks like they have some narrow corridors.. how wide are they? Will they fit a model on a 30mm or 40mm round base?
the most narrow corridor may contain a basis of the maximum diameter of 4 cm.
the shipping costs are always the biggest obstacle.
but, our 3D Bases are relatively light. and we are looking for couriers at low cost.
certain that America, Australia and Canada ... the distance you hear, especially in shipping.

@RiTides. we have a "little" setback... we have a partner in the hospital from 2 weeks. therefore we are late on the work process of the bases.
but for next week certainly everything should be back in full swing.
so at this time for us, fix a definite launch date it is difficult.
for now enjoy you the test page, that we'll publish by tomorrow.

Wow, love the video! It looks like it is vacuum formed, rather than cast in solid resin, which makes it WAY lighter and easier to transport - I'm much more interested now!
Do you know what shipping is on say the 16 rough terrain tile set?
Very excited for this but I noticed the difference in the size of some of the tiles, the Abbey is 60x60cm and all other tiles are 90x90cm. Also could we get a picture with some of the other tiles joined onto the complete Abbey set so we can see what it looks like if we want to expand on it. Thanks.

I hope that's a mistake and all tiles are in fact the same overall size!
I think it's just wording - every tile looks to be 30cm x 30cm, and then in some graphics they show the total area multiple tiles would cover (such as 90cm x 60cm).
Man, I really wish the tiles were a true 12 inches instead of 11.8 inches... are you estimating them as 30cm or are they really 30cm exactly and thus 0.2 inches short on each dimension (which will stack up if you want to form a full table / playing area)?

the "Shipping & Delivery" will be open very soon. we are looking into various couriers.
@overtyrant we are currently preparing the molds all the bases.
As soon as we are ready all the bases. we'll see how you can make various battlefields or skirmish.
of course all the 3D Bases are 30x30 cm. - (1x1 ')
the 6 Abbey bases are for those who will use only for the skirmish or RPG.

Metric system baby!
That 'only' leaves you an inch or so short on the 6' side though, right?

No big deal, really...
We in fact had to mediate on two of measurement systems...
While in many ways I prefer metric most game systems use inches for their playing areas. It's not a big deal, but makes it a lot less likely Warmachine players will be interested, for instance, since you'll be 0.8" short on the sides (obviously, you could just subtract that from any unit coming on from the sides - but in a game where fractions of an inch are a big deal, it's been a common complaint that wargaming mats are not exactly sized, either).
The abbey looks great. Do you have any plans for new tiles, for stretch goals? I'd love to have a 3x3 board filled with tiles like that, with each one unique
Necros wrote: The abbey looks great. Do you have any plans for new tiles, for stretch goals? I'd love to have a 3x3 board filled with tiles like that, with each one unique
thanks. all the bases that we have yet to present will be revealed during the KS. one by one every few days.
while by tomorrow we will present the first 2 Stretch Goals.
every time we introduce a new base, we will create new add-ons packages that will include the new 3D Base.
you'll probably find at the end the add-ons package that suits you.
otherwise, individually you choose your tiles in the "Single Bases" section
These look amazing and I will definitely be getting the stunning Abbey Ruins.
One thing to possibly reconsider is the title of the Kickstarter. I think "3D Bases" is misleading as it's a common term for individual miniature bases. I almost skipped over this forum topic for that reason alone. I'd hate for you to miss potential backers due to a simple misunderstanding of the product by the way the title is worded.
Good luck with the campaign !! I can't wait for it to launch !

Thanks, But, now change the name is virtually impossible ... it would mean redoing all the graphics, text and a thousand other things. including the fact that we'll create problems for those who already know the project. and are very many .
it means that you will have to spread the name of the project as much as possible. we are counting on all of you.
We'll do our best . Let us know when you have a launch date as that will certainly be something folks will want to circulate!

I think that would give you €12 in add-ons. (€96 pledged, €4 extra in addons, €88 subtracted, makes €12. Unless you pledge €100 rather than €96 on the early bird, then have at it)
Ernster wrote: so if I want the "Abbey" for 88 Euro I go for the "Captains Early bird pledge" with 16 Euro for add ons?
Hi Ernster. The base of 3D Bases pledges is to give MAXIMUM freedom to the backers as what base / pack-add-ons to choose to reach the pledge level to unlock the freebies bonuses.
Some will reach 101€, some 117€, etc. but a minimum of 100€ have to be reached to get the freebies.
So if you reach 95€, you didn't reach the threshold of 100€ to get the freebies, but if you just add some cash (buying another base), you'll pass it, and can select the Captain pledge, and get ALL the freebies for free that the KS will unlock.
In short, we wanted the maximum freedom for backers, to build their pledges as they wish, and still get the freebies, without putting 10-20 different fixed pledges that wouldn't be perfect for all backers and would make the KS page quite heavy to read.
It is a Google drive sheet, so just open the link, create a copy, and you will be able to use it.
Of course, the pledge manager will be updated every day of the KS to reflect the changes, and you can find it also under the "Pledges" section.
We still have a convalescent partner, has just been released from the hospital ... so at the moment we can not say exactly when we'll launch the Kicksytarter.
we are back with the preparation of the molds.
Hi everyone!
This short youtube video will show you how to cut the 3D Bases’ material.
But why would you cut such beautiful bases ?
Well, you could if you’d want to obtain more unique results for your gaming terrain board.
Cutting this material is easy, you can use even scissors (usually for irregular cuts) or a craft knife for more precise and straight cuts.
Here is the video::
Sweet, thanks.
I love the idea and material, I was just a little worried about bowing. Thanks Lorenzo.
I know where my extra money is going to go now.. : P

thanks. we will soon a video for a clear idea of how it can be further "reinforced" the 3D Bases.
Do you have plans to add new abbey tiles with stretch goals? I'd love to be able to do a full 3x3 table with them. I know i can buy extra tiles to add to the original 6, but it would be more fun if all 9 were unique

the abbey add-on package consists of six bases.
but, for example the 3D bases broken column is arranged to be put behind the apse of Abbey. you can add 2 rough terrain bases and can do a little graveyard...
the possibilities are many and we will create many more add-ons packages with other combinations. soon as we begin to present 3D Bases that remain to be discovered.
These look very interesting. Do you know if the material is safe to use in a laser cutter? That would be an easy way to make a huge number of individual miniature bases from one of the base sheets.
ecurtz wrote: These look very interesting. Do you know if the material is safe to use in a laser cutter? That would be an easy way to make a huge number of individual miniature bases from one of the base sheets.
It would be a great idea.
pity though that the laser cutting, by cutting the material may generate toxic fumes due to the high temperature at which the material is subjected.
Therefore, we recommend not make this proof.
as the video recommend the classic cut with cutter or scissors.

Automatically Appended Next Post: Update #24 – How to create a new 3D Base. Hi everyone,
Today we want to show you how easy it is to create a new 3D Base using as a starting point another 3D Base.
The “Cobblestone” base is in our opinion the best and more versatile one to create unique and interesting bases for your gaming terrain.
You could use as a support a wooden board, or better yet, a high density polystyrene plate of 30×30 cm, which is way easier to find/purchase around and to work on.
The thickness of the plate is yours to decide, depending on what you’re aiming for. Keep in mind however that you will need to bring to the same height (thickness) all remaining bases you want to connect to your new base.
We will explain you, in our next video, how to do this without too much hassle.
That’s all for now.
This tutorial video has some captions to explain better our steps.
i everyone.
Here is another video that you have been waiting for, considering some of you were wondering if our 3D bases could resist the weight of some of your heavy miniatures.
We took the Base of our Broken Column which is perfect for this test, and will show how the different heights and places of the Base resist to different weights.
In the youtube video you can see 2 metal weights. One weights 2 kg, the other 1 kg, for an overall total of 3 kg on the base.
In the end, we turn upside down the base without cutting the video : you can see the base as it is, nothing has been added under it to make it stronger. The 3D Bases can hold easily 3 kg or more, without flinching or breaking.
The 3D Bases are not only super resistant to damage and flexible, they can also hold quite some weight!
Hi everyone!
Today is a great day for us! We have into our hands the first copies of the Ruined Abbey created with our new material!
To say it’s gorgeous is to say the least. It’s like a dream coming true. We managed to obtain a product with the details of the resin kits and the weight of the plastic kits.
But we can add to that that contrary to the plastic and resin pieces, our 3D Bases are nearly INDESTRUCTIBLE !!!!
But let’s give room to the long awaited pictures:
Joyboozer wrote: Looks great!
By INDESTRUCTIBLE! I'm assuming you mean as in born from an egg on a mountaintop, and not just hard wearing?
Thanks Joyboozer.
our "3D Bases" are in really "virtually" indestructible.
the only damage that can receive a "3D Bases" is from a blade or of scissors.
but this makes it even more valuable our product that can be modified to obtain a new basis of terrain.
as you can see from our video:
Update #27 – Important news for the “3D Bases” Kickstarter, and 2 more “3D Bases” unveiled!
Hi everyone,
A lot of you are asking us more details on the number and type of the 3D Bases yet not shown.
In the beginning, we had planned to keep “secret” half of our bases, to be unveiled progressively during the Kickstarter.
But it became clear to us that it would create some problems and issues for all of you. It would also create more work for us, to update and add every time a new base was revealed some more add-on packages, which could make obsolete the previous ones, forcing you to new choices every few days.
So we made a complete policy change: instead of revealing little by little the missing 3D Bases, we will unveil all of them now, during the next few days.
Only the Stretch Goals will be kept hidden.
Let’s start with 2 of those new bases: one is the Curved River, and the other is T-intersection Bocage. This last one has many uses and synergies, some to be revealed later on, but can be used as of now to change direction depending on how it’s positioned.
Hi everyone!
Today we are unveiling 3 new “3D Bases”!
We’re positive you’ll find them very useful for creating various battlegrounds.
First of all, the 2 Bases related to Roads. We wanted them to be useful in multiple historical settings so the roads are made of stone. You’ll see 2 bases, one representing a straight road, and another a curving road.
The third base we are unveiling is a transition base, to be used to connect smoothly the Cobblestone base to the Rough Terrain base. It’s also perfect to represent the boundaries of a village or a city.
@Lorenzo, I do not know if this has been asked and if it has, I am sorry. Is there a way to make the pieces double sided? With Bloodbowl being re released I can see tis being used for a Pitch to play on. if it is double sided...

The tiles are 3D. Double sided wont work.
exactly Bossk_Hogg. They are three-dimensional basis. thus they can not be double side.
New update:
With this article we’re presenting the last 3 Bases which complete the 3D Bases project.
The first 2 allow you to recreate an urban scenery.
The third is a base that was requested strongly by all of you.
The modularity of the 2 urban bases will allow for infinite combinations. You can create roads, crossroads and neighbourhouds very easily and quickly.
As for the last base, the Stone Slabs base, it will allow you to increase the playing area of the Abbey … but it can be used in a great other number of ways too.
Also, the dimensions of every single stone slab is 25x25mm, so the potential of this base, for gaming purpose, rises even more...
WOW !! I've expended a few too many brain cells trying to come up with just the right road system for my needs. It looks like you've nailed it PERFECTLY for me !! I'm in !!!!

Hi, thanks for your comment.

We have still a written contract with Maki Games!
We will see what Maki Games will announce, and any answer or comment from our part will be done after it on our blog, which is the best place for MHW’s announcements.
please, let’s keep this topic on 3D Bases only for the 3D Bases.

Hi everyone
A lot of persons asked us if it were possible to see pictures of multiple 3d Bases “Broken Column” together, to see the ring-shape that could be created with them.
In the first 2 pictures you can see how our base can be added to the Abbey to make a beautiful 3×3 gaming terrain.
The last 2 pictures show you how 2 Broken Column bases look together. The result is a half-circle fortification which can be added to a plethora of other gaming terrain 3D Bases compositions.
Of course, like all our bases, how to used the 3D Bases is limited only by your imagination, so let your mind wander about all the combinations to achieve your desired result!
Hi everyone!
The last months showed quite some evolution! We went from showing how the 3D Bases Masters of the Abbey look like, to now a fully ready and casted Abbey, and finished with grass and miniatures!
You can admire the result in the following images, where quite some Reaper Miniatures (used for D&D) are fighting on our Abbey, and also some miniatures from Games Workshop.
It is, for me, a dream come true. Having such a base, with this incredible material, fully painted and ready, is the result of years of work and projects.
The base reproduces perfectly every detail that I sculpted. The painting gives life to the whole base, everything comes to life!
Painting and modifications are very easy to make and to correct : the 3D Base material is kept perfect and unscathed at every touch...
Quick question, so a pledge lvl is just a base amount of money to spend on purchasing add-ons from what I expect is the pledge manager at the end? if a pledge for 36 euro and want to just buy Price Range A items, how does that work?

Hi everyone!
We did in the past a lot of pictures of our 3D Bases with fantasy miniatures, but what about some other historical period, like World War II ?
A lot of you asked us about it, so, with the help of our dear friend Massimo Torriani – expert of WWII and gaming rules creation (“Operation World War Two” – “Operation Squad” and “Assault Platoon”) we did just that, and prepared some pictures of our Abbey with some very peculiar war action...
Say, have you thought of making texture sheets that can be used as base stamps? The 3D terrain is out of my budget, but I'm thinking you can make some sheets I can use with greenstuff to make bases for my miniatures!
These look fantastic. I'm sorry to see that shipping costs to the US will make participating too expensive, but am excited to follow the KS regardless (and will hopefully see these available relatively affordably in the US at some point, too!).

Yeah, I just noted the shipping. These are squishy and lightweight so packing shouldnt be that much of a concern , not sure why it costs almost $60 to ship to the US! Maybe some of us can go in together on a bigger order.

Monday finally, we will announce the launch date of the 3D Bases Kickstarter.
Ah good, looking forward to that! I think by far the best application of your product is the 3D bases... the flat ones I am not sure about, but these walls are great
Hi to all.
find below the text concerning the cost of shipments:
Shipping & Handling will be charged after the Kickstarter finishes based on actual costs incurred to ship and is collected via our pledge manager system. This allows us to charge fairly for all backers and avoid a 'one size fits all' mentality to shipping.
All pledges will be produced and sent from Italy. Shipping & Handling Prices will vary depending on your country and the overall weight of the 3D Bases you purchased. We used 2 formulas. One for an most Captain Pledge packages (5kg) and one for a bigger package (12kg), which could be used for big backers or backers that team up with a single Kickstarter account to share and lower delivery costs. Keep in mind these are just estimates, and costs may rise or lower depending on your final package and unlocked stretch unlocked goals you would get.
5 Kg (most Captain Pledges):
Italy: 12 €
Europe 21 € to 28 €
USA & Canada: 52 €
Australia: 65 €
12 kg (big General pledges over 300€ of material):
Italy: 16 €
Europe 32 € to 48 €
USA & Canada:
82 € Australia: 99 €
We thought about posting a whole list of kg/S&H costs, but it would have made a very very long and tedious text to post. We have a new pledge manager online who does just what you ask us. It gives the approximate weight of every base and of your total pledge so that backers know how much weight they are going to pack, and thus, can estimate how much the package will be.
Do not hesitate to check our new pledge manager and let us know what you all think about it!
Bear in mind that the weight are approximate (a base's weight can vary 10-20 g from print to print).
Hi everyone!
We are finally happy to announce the date of the launch of our first Kickstarter!
The “3D Bases – Modular Terrain” will be launched the 20th of June at 8pm Italy time (GMT+1), which is 2pm Eastern Time for the USA.
It will end the 5th of July and will last 16 days.
The biggest help we can get from all of you is to spread the word around the web and to your friends!
Thanks all for your support, Lorenzo.
Humm, if you're not getting the Abby its only about $13 a tile with shipping to the US, even less if you're just after the cobble stone or simpler tiles. That's actually not that bad. Cheaper then SW tilescapes by $2.

thanks Monkeysloth for your calculations.
however, we are working to get the best shipping quotes.
Also we are calculating the possibility of having "USA Friendly"
There are many Americans interested in the project.

so GMT+2
I think there are some misunderstandings.
From what we know (and after verifications also online about legal hours, what time is it, etc), Italy is GMT+1. Right now it's 10,30 am for us, and in the UK it should be 9,30 am.
So the launch in Italy is at 8pm Italy time, so 7pm UK time.

Hi everyone!
Today, at 8pm Italy time, Manorhouse Workshop will launch its first Kickstarter “3D Bases Modular Terrain”.
It’s about a modular system of 30x30cm bases (tiles), which will allow you to create an infinite variety of tridimensional gaming terrains, be it for Skirmish games, Wargames, or Roleplaying games.
This Kickstarter project includes 19 bases, perfect for miniatures of 28-32mm scale. Urban and country roads, rivers, hills, will be able to be created. But the greatest product of our project is the Ruined Abbey with Cloister, which is composed of 6 different bases. Each of them represents a section of the Abbey, without needing to assemble or glue anything...
We thank all who helped us in the last months, with their crucial and important feedbacks.
Thanks to all and we are waiting all of you for the launch of our Kickstarter!
Spread the word as much as you can.

I know for sure that there are many Americans who are waiting of this, before to support the project

Hi @Ernster. we too.
but now we have more reliable data on how many Americans are boarded. and we can make more accurate estimates.
I must say that you are the most numerous country such backers. after (a bit detached) we have Germany and England.
in a couple of days we will have the data to show you.
and data will are certainly very encouraging.

We have published the first 2 Stretch Goals. Go to the Stretch Goals section, which has been moved up in our page, for ease of reading.
30mx30mm? Why not make them alittle bigger? If they were 12'x12' they would be compatible with secret weapon Table Scapes, and 4 with GW's realm of battle wouldn't they? I don't know if this has been asked, I only read the 1st page.

I'm sorry Lockark, maybe I did not understand well your speech
but, the sizes of our tiles are 30x30cm. as are the tiles of the secret weapon, and 4 of our tiles form a tile of GW
yeah,
Your boards look incredible, I'll think they would be amazing for frost grave, sadly I will probably wait for retail.
I am a little tempted, however, The KS deliver date is way too far away. 9 months waiting for product!
Do you think you can deliver early?
Good luck with the project.
Lorenzo Marchetto wrote: ...but, the sizes of our tiles are 30x30cm. as are the tiles of the secret weapon, and 4 of our tiles form a tile of GW
Sadly this is not true.
GW, and G&G have 2' (foot) boards, Exactly. 60.96cm
SW have 1' (foot) boards, Exactly. 30.48cm
(4 SW tiles does equal 1 GW/G&G board.)
If you're boards are 30x30 they are not 1' foot square. They are a little under.
To say approx 12"x12" is false advertising, as you know factually they won't ever make a 3x3 or 6x4 table...
4 x 30cm will be smaller and have a gap of 0.9cm.
6 tiles wide (trying to make a 6' gaming board) this board this will be 2.8cm shortfall.
While I agree it would be better as 1 foot squares, it really doesnt matter much, and falls into the "who cares" realm outside of tournament play. Also, check your math, it's only 6 tiles for a roughly 6 foot table, so the loss is a whopping 2.88 CM, or 1.14 inches. Negligible. A 4 foot table becomes a 120mm table. That's a loss of under a three-quarters of an inch on length and width, divide that by 2 for the impact on each side's deployment, etc.
And if people are playing GW anyways, its not like they care about rules to begin with. Pretend it cut an inch off someone's side for having a frilly hat or not yelling "Waaaaugh!" enough, some other dumb gak lol.
Agreed it's not much but it's also very easy to say it's 11.9" x 11.9"
And not try and fool people into thinking these are exactly 1' square.
Even easier to make them 1' square!!
And going on record as saying 4 of these equals one GW tile is false it will be loose and have gaps.

Panic...
Sorry for the delay. but I had to finish urgent works.
In fact, the speech of the measure 30cm. equal to the "foot" English size is not correct.
but we can say that now is almost always accepted.

I'm fine with it myself & I'm an autistic architectural technician who gets seriously annoyed when AutoCAD decides to introduce fractions of a mm when I'm setting out a drawing!!
A lot of you have been asking about retails prices of our 3D Bases. Here they are:
Price Range A (example: Cobblestone): 8,50 € instead of 7,00 €
Price Range B (example: Urban road): 13,00 € instead of 11,00 €
Price Range C (example: Straight River): 15,50 € instead of 13,00 €
Price Range D (example: any Abbey tile): 21,50 € instead of 18,00 €
... for a approximately overall discount of 20% for single 3D Bases!
In our Kickstarter, we are offering you those bases at a big discount because the Kickstarter allows us to buy a big quantity of this material in one order to our supplier, and thus drop heavily the price (also, making the production run for days helps lowering the costs too). Also, buying our Add-on packs instead of single bases gets you another discount for production and S&H reasons. Once the Kickstarter is over, this won't be possible anymore.
About the freebies: If you want to buy more Wooden Bridges, or other freebies that will be unlocked, you can. We have a special Kickstarter price for those. Post-Kickstarter, they will rise too. Our Pledge Manager has all the data (for example, the Wooden Bridge has a special Kickstarter price of 3€), and we will update our Kickstarter page very soon with all the information too.
Ok, this is all well and good, but how much money I am actually saving ? The best is to talk with examples. Here they are:
Early Bird Captain Pledge with code 9-006 (Full Abbey, 2 Broken Columns, 1 Cobblestone):
Hi everyone, and especially to USA backers and would-be backers.
We have some great news for you! Here are the newest estimated delivery costs for an average Captain Pledge (5kg), to the USA.
32$ to 38$, and it’s USA-Friendly, no custom costs for it! All is included!!!
For a BIG General pledge (not an usual one, but a big one of 12kg), it gets even better!
34$ to 52$, again of course it’s fully USA-Friendly, no custom costs at all!.
The higher end of those delivery costs is for West Coast backers only, since we our freight boat will land on the East Coast.
Our previous non-USA Friendly quotes were 52€ (around 59$) + custom fees for the Captain Pledge, and 85€ (around 96$) + custom fees for the General Pledge.
With this, we’re effectively cutting by half (or more) the delivery costs.
Can it get better ?
Yes, it can.
The more USA backers we have, the more we will be able to lower those costs.
For more information about Shipping & Handling, read your Shipping & Delivery section on our Kickstarter Campaign page.

HI @Alpharius. thanks. we try to always find the best solutions. and if we can "snatch" even better estimates about the shipments, we will propose to you.
us now We rely heavily on you Americans. given what is happening in Europe and the British situation.
therefore, we ask you to give us a hand to spread the word about this project in your country.
thanks in advance for your support.
all the best. Lorenzo
yeah, My biggest barrier to backing is the delivery date. Will you be posting these out as soon as you start making them? Or holding them in a store room until next year?
What was the delivery time on your previous kickstarter, did everyone get their stuff early, on time or late?
What's the likely date? Basically if some of this stuff is ready now will they be sent soon after the kickstarter ends?
yeah,
My biggest barrier to backing is the delivery date.
Same here, I went oooh nice; must have.

Notice march 2017 somewhere, crap. Anything interesting happening regarding the EU referendum.
Seems odd given they are saying it is all ready to go and the KS is just for the bulk discount.
Yeah,
The bulk purchase is materials, they still have to make the tiles.
However they say some of the moulds are already made.
So if they indicated orders for certain selections would be by oct/nov 2016
I'd probably pledge.
But if the delivery is 2017 for all items I'll pass and wait for retail.
Panic...
Hi @panic.
We already have the molds prepared: abbey, the broken column and cobblestone.
as you can see in the video of Beasts of War last week. you can see them at the minute: 10.18
we all ready masters of all other bases.
Therefore, 80% of the work is already done.
just finished KS. part to produce. but the moment that you begin to produce will also start to shipping.
So surely we start to ship before the actual deadline of March 2017.
Is there any plans to expand the Abbey and Cloister to 9 squares?
Have you tried making a 9 square board with duplicate tiles to see how it looks?
I was thinking 1 cloister plus 2 abbeys and one broken column? I'd be interested in
Abbey 01
D1000
D1001
D1006
Is that €142 or is there a better pack?
It's all existing moulds?
And do you think this would ship in 2016?
Panic...
Hi @panic.
Yes. I think your choice is the best as the price. and the pledge you will also captain of each 1x free unlocked. there are still EB Captain additional 4 euro savings.
all molds of items chosen by you are ready.
but, it would not be honest on my part assuring that your order will arrive by 2016.

New Freebies revealed & Stretch Goals lowered!
Hi everyone,
We've been working a lot of your feedback and making calculus on what we can show and give to you. The result is the following:
We are showing you 2 new Freebies, with a very low funding (31.500 € and 32.500 €). Those are Skeleton Remains of various types (horses and humans), perfect for any battlefield or even for the Abbey!
But this is not all. For the last 3 days of this Kickstarter, we are making the last dash towards the end, and we are making it easier for all backers involved! We are dropping the Stretch Level goals at every level. Here they are:
After 48 hours, you have chosen the new add-ons for the 3D Bases Kickstarter!!! It's nice to see that all those Add-ons have the Abbey, a sign that indeed it's a very loved piece! We have also our first 16-pack Add-on!
Joyboozer wrote: These base tiles do look quite nice, it's a shame the shipping ends up being so expensive.

effectively Australia is very far from Italy.
therefore, shipments cost much.
but we are working to get the best estimates.
