Ok. I feel pretty confident that it is the deathwatch game. The Facebook comment and its reply is a big hint. In the official image the word gentum is used. This is a made up word but gens in latin ( which GW uses for a lot of their marine stuff) means a sub group of a tribe.
I am glad that GW are doing this. The blood bowl stuff, showing the fyreslayer monster a little earlier and now seems to suggest that GW are willing to drop the veil of secrecy that they have been hiding behind for such a long time.
It always seemed trite to blame everything on Kirby but every change made since the new guy has taken over, has been for the better. (Age of Sigmar was Kirby's last hurrah, I think)

Chaos theory. Chaos. Chaos Space... Chaos Space Marines! Playing Chaos Space Marines requires a lot of lubrication, right? Lubrication. Lubruh... Chupuh... Chupacabra's the, the goat killer of Mexican folklore. Folklore is stories from the past that are often fictionalized. Fictionalized to heighten drama. Drama students! Also is 100 just 100 days from now?
Curious if next week will be 93, like a count down or something like that. Will only happen once, I take it will not be 8th edition then.
I can only happen once, What can happen once with GW?
-sale
-discounts (having them no with starter sets, so not that)
-story is advanced? (didn't GW advance the story with the campaigning books or were they already done before but expanded on?)
-how about Forge Worlds 100th Space Marine release?
hmmm.... four, 4.... 4 gods, binary, dark mechanicus? One time release, and they will never be supported again? Nah DM seems like a money maker.

It's now year 40,100, the universe as we know it has been destroyed in a great upheaval and only scattered remains of previous races exist in 8 different realms, each ruled over by their own resurrected god.. Also points costs and FOC are removed.
OR
GW is revamping it's stores by transforming the whole retail system into 100 outdoor kiosks. The form factor is considered to be more friendly towards their core audience. In addition to miniatures, ice cream will also be served, to further improve serving the core audience's needs and also to underline the 'flavour of the month' concept.

The AoS art goes against it being 40k particular.
Perhaps in 100 days there's a 100 day web sale. Or we have £100 collection boxes as additions to the Start Collecting sets.
57935
Post by: Samurai_Eduh
I think this is going to be some kind of sale. Here's why:
1) Teaser pictures are from 40k and AoS, so it's not a release for either game. Maybe a very, very slight chance for a dual game release like Chaos Demons, but I very much doubt it.
2) The GW100 seems to denote 100 of something GW already has. What do they have 100 of? Products, customers, and days.
3) This will only happen once. This implies it's something that has never happened yet. What has GW said over and over that they've never done? Had a sale. Given sales last year, what would GW entertain to boost numbers? A sale.
There are three ways I see this playing out based in the three things I said GW had 100 of earlier:
100 Products: GW's 100 "Best Selling" products go on sale for a limited time. Very small chance these products get a permanent price drop to be a "core" 100 products designed to get new people into the game.
100 Customers: GW runs some kind of promotion or contest that has 100 winners. These people would forever be known as the "GW 100".
100 Days: GW has a sale that lasts 100 days. I think this is the least likely to pan out. 100 days is a long time for any retailer to run a sale, much less one that hates doing so as much as GW.
Of these three scenarios, I think the 100 product scenario is the most likely. It isn't game specific and it isn't something GW has ever done and probably will ever do again.
86779
Post by: ShaneTB
Beta testers.... GW will have 100 selected people play test rules in advance.
I'm not being sardonic with the above, either.

Hmmmm...
Deathwatch miniatures in the boxed game are all mono-pose characters (think Space Hulk, except with normal bases). Sternguard rumors are nonsense. One is possibly the first dedicated Blood Ravens mini by GW (feel free to correct me there. My GW-history-fu is weak)?
Lots of cultists, a few pure genestealers, another new broodlord.
Multi-part kits later this year.

I would like to see them reduce the start boxes down to $100 again. While the quality of the contents has continued to go up, so too has the price.
We also know now that the three images have provided us 40k AoS and a generic skull. I fear that this will be something stupid like a Grand Opening celebration. as mentioned elsewhere online.
Beyond speculation, what else do we have?

Right, so,
- it isn't Deathwatch
- it can't be an army release, as its "never to be repeated"
- it can't be money related, because currencies, it could be model number related
- it's not system related if the different artwork used is to be believed
- there's still a rumour about "something big" that staff were apparently called in for training from last year that's yet to bear fruit
- it may be time related (100 days)

Uses existing kits AFAIK but repackaged to make them easy to sell in less traditional venues.
Believe there is, of course, something of a narrative connecting them togther.
Battle of Verna ...? Or something like that anyway.

I'd assume one narrative for 40k, another for AoS.
Of course the only AoS image I saw was Chaos Daemons vs Wood Elves; which could have been a slip up.

Anyone who owns 100 shares in GW gets the opportunity to buy a limited edition Space Marine Captain for $100.
GWs new plan to increase demand for their shares. And it will work.

Wild Riders fighting Nurgle stuff, right?
That was something that was used as promo material last year at my local shop's birthday. I meant to get myself the poster of it but had torn a ligament in my foot and was pretty out of it at the time.

That's the one. Don't know if it was mistakenly used as a generic Chaos Daemons image, or AoS has anything to do with the #GW100.

My bet:
New 1000 sons models. But someone has already claimed the IP, so GW just renamed them to 100 sons

The release of Warhammer 100k.
Set 60,000 years in the far far future. The universe has been found to be infinite in size and space marines are reborn to fight chaos over and over.
Edit. Special 4 page rule edition.

The universe is already infinite in size, and with progenoids etc space marines kind of already are reborn to fight chaos over and over.
And there's a lot I hate about AoS (well, really just the expensive models and the lack of decent army construction rules) but the 4-page ruleset is not one of them, in fact I think it's awesome.
