hi i was hoping to start a tomb kings army at some point but i thought what do people like about the the tomb kings (new or old)
personally i like the tomb king on chariot model despite it being an old sculpt (i think) it looks pretty decent now the thing i hate is the settra model on foot but like it on chariot im also not a fan of the liche preist on foot (the one you get in the double pack) because his face is so wierd it just doesnt look right but casket of souls model looks fantasic
but the necroplis knights i hate not because they look bad because i hate the way in the fluff how there portrayed basically its tomb guard riding snakes but the stalkers are brillant in my oppinion
the warshinx and necroshipnx are allright models but i hate the bone giant
So what do you think?

blood angels are awesome
ogre kingdoms FTW

I'll say the same thing I tell everyone who asks, play what you think looks the best. Half of the hobby is assembly and painting, half is playing. If you don't like the way an army looks, then the painting and modeling part, which comes first, will be a huge pain. You sound like you like tomb kings well enough, so just roll with it.

If you don't like the way a model looks, do a conversion. Don't like the bone giant? Take a box of skeletons and fasten them together in a large humanoid mass to make something else that counts as a giant.

“Sometimes I can hear my bones straining under the weight of all the lives I'm not living.”

Don't be so worried about what other people think. It's your money that GW will be bending you over the rain barrel for, so make your own choices.

Here is what i think , and i think you'll agree with me :3

I too hate the goofy surfing necropolis knights as well , but here is the interesting part.

Unless im mistaken, They dont share the main giant snake torso. Which mean you can build your whole complete stalkers,
while still having the snake "hood" parts + the riders. Now all you have to do is model the half torso as if they are comming up from the sands.

Now as much as i dislike their aesthetic looks , i cant say no to free necro knights!

With the current edition Rule book , we are allowed to have 50% in Special, just 2 boxes can easily fill almost half of a Tomb King army ( just estimate lol )

There's that problem, plus the fact you're assuming people would want to use both kits. The stalkers don't look great, rules-wise...

Vanguard Move Blocking (due to scouting): Scout right in front of the vanguard unit.

Being in the War-machine line on turn 1 for a turn 2 charge (due to scout AND vanguard): Scout up a flank, vanguard even further forward, normal move = like 8 inches from a war-machine.

, Counter Charge Soaking (sacrifice), You set up a sexy charge on a unit, but you think you'll need 2 rounds of combat to finish the deed? Use your light cav to get in the way of what will counter-charge you! Angle them in such a way, that if they over-run they go *away* from the combat.

speed bumping (useful when you want to set up a flank charge). Drive them up to like 1 inch away, with 2 long distance chargers sitting at 11 inches away, one on the flank, one on the front.. they charge the unit. and then their movement is either straight forward (due to overrun) or he can make a reform after he pimps your unit.. but you have a unit on both angles... so he'll present a flank to someone.

small unit harassment, Get behind that pesky 10 man unit of swordmasters and shoot, shoot, shoot.

Charge Soaking to present "angles" to your battle line to take advantage of present your Light cav as a target by getting up in his face... Then angle your light cav so the charge and subsequent overrun presents a flank to your line. While he'll most likely re-form.. you've effictively taken the unit out of the game for a turn or two.

cutting off charges to your war-machines, because the charge would fail because it would land on them. Duh.

Just because they suck at their cookie cutter job, doesn't mean they are worthless.

The stalkers don't have poisoned attacks, sadly.

Stalkers don't need poison.. I'm pretty sure a stalker being in combat with anything other than war-machines is an act of desperacy.
