Hey everyone!

I do a lot of commission work with some personal projects on the side, and I will update the thread as I update my regular blog. In the meantime, why not start out with some of my favorite projects so you know what to expect!

More updates to follow!

Was probably just taking a moment to load. My pics are pretty hefty.

Here is the most recent project - a Protectorate of Menoth army:

Hey all!

Just put up a Grey Knight army. The customer wanted something a little more dark and sinister than the traditional colors, his background for the army being they are slightly twisted by the powerful weapons they wield.

Hey everyone.

This army was started to have a big fun game before a friend of mine moved away. We agreed to each build and paint 3000 points in the past couple months and have one huge game versus a couple friends Orcs and Goblins. I also made the castle and we are playing on an 8x6. I will have the battle report after the game next weekend.

The scariest part of the army isn't it's size, but I am honestly thinking about and looking forward to more units of 50.

Anyway onto pictures:

Army shots. The army is a coalition of Reikland cities and neighbors based on existing fluff. I made units out of the Heraldry book when possible.

Karl Franz and his retinue. There is a representative model from each unit in the army (personal guard from the fighty units, a fat advisor from Bogenhafen and an advisor from Nuln artillery). This represents an Arch Lector on Altar. I did not want an actual Altar because I wanted this army to be a 100% trained soldier army. No flagellants. I admit there are a couple warrior priests but I tried to make them as clean and "not grimdark" as possible.

Battle Standard

Wizards

Warrior Priests

Warrior Priest for the Knights

Bogenhafen unit. Bogenhafen is in the heart of Reikland and is famous for it's wine.

50 Halberdiers of Reikland. I wanted at least one generic Reikland unit.

50 Halberdiers of Altdorf. Altdorf is the capital city and this represents the famous Company of Honor out of the Heraldry book.

35 Swordsmen of Nuln. This represents Grendels Defenders out of the Heraldry book. They are charged with defending the artillery.

The famous Carroburgh Greatswords. Not technically in Reikland (on the outside of the Middenheim border) but they fight for Reikland.

Engineers and artillery from Nuln. Not a part of Reikland but the fluff of the battle is they are defending Helmgart, an important entrance to the Empire, and in my humble opinion it would make sense for Nuln to swing over and help out.

Reiksguard Knights. Required! It's friggin Reikland...

Now off to magnetize them all. It turns out it's impossible to move a 50 man unit with a metal standard bearer...

Phew! Been a long month or so. My computer died and due to some parts coming DOA it took a good two or three weeks to get a new one up and running, so time to play catch up! Going from oldest to newest.

Other than the cleanup, it's not nearly as bad as it looks.

Thanks guys!
Armor all done but two Elysian sentinels, now it's time to move on to the infantry. Should be fun. Half Elysian half Cadian, and the Cadians are really a hodge podge of kits and bits so it will be fun to get the flavor the customer is after.

Infantry assembled and after basing and priming they will be ready to go. A bit slow but Ive also been working on painting the vehicles, which are about 1/3 of the way finished at this point.

Lots of cool conversions in there. One unit is made up of Valkyrie pilot bodies, with the rebreathers that come in the command squad kit which will ride in the Crassus as the "crew," sort of like the guys on an aircraft carrier that do all the refueling and maintenance.

But I will have close ups as time goes on.

The vehicles are finished! They came out well, and I am really happy with how the brown came out. I did something different with the tanks and pipes of the hellhounds, and I am looking forward to getting some pictures of that at the end. Slightly tarnished pipe instead of the usual rust.

Off to the infantry!

Hey everyone! Two new armies up this week. One Circle Orboros the other a Minions Pig force. Each has a fall theme. The Orboros have sort of a dark, moonlit and cold look, while the Farrow have a traditional red/orange/brown Fall theme going on.

See you next time!

Thanks! I am glad you feel that way, as it is definitely intended. I put a lot of thought and love into every army, as if it was my own. The best reward is setting up the finished project for pictures and getting excited for the customer's response.

Thanks guys!

Death Korps!

The customer wanted something similar to the 501st Reserve army with a Seabee engineer theme. I took those two and tweaked them a bit to make something unique for the customer.

June is looking full-o-Marines! I am also working on a ton of new terrain (some pictured above) and will do some posts on that when I finish.

Take care all.

Terminators for an upcoming Thousand Sons army. They will make a bit more sense once they are painted. Hard to see what's going on with just primer.

It came from below!

The four vehicles primed and ready to go. The other three are Rhinos, with similar "sand effects" added to give the impression it just rose from it's tomb.
