Some of you may have think i dropped off the map entirely if you followed my original blog. That's not true. I can give an explanation. Well First things first I got a very good job,. I work as a sanitation worker for the county i live in. benefits and retirement ect ect. Good stuff right? Second I got out of a really odd and suck relationship and well it killed the fire to do anything for a very long time. Then i met my counter part and I'm quite content now. Well Miss Heretic (no we are not married but who knows about the future) Showed an interest in fantasy so we looked at models and the like and well i told her about the lore of the various races and she fell in love with wood elves. So this will be a progress log for my various armies and her woodies. Shes spanking new to the hobby but loves to hear my stories about the games. Me i started playing 40k in fifth ed. it was fun had a bunch of armies then i down sized now i have two then one of my really good buddies got me into fantasy but he has family obligations so we couldnt play nearly enough so i have some fantasy armies and no one to play with met some guys at my lgs and well we do that now every friday or sunday depending on every bodies schedule.

While hanging out with the guys i mentioned a painting escalation campaign thing ending in 2,500 points. My two regular opponents agreed problem was we didnt have a fourth...then enter MIss Heretic. She has agreed to be our fourth and play.

This log is to show what me and her work on. our thoughts on the game and stuff and be social on one of my favorite forums.

Her goal after we get her models is to complete 500 points of Wood Elves my Goal to Complete 500 Points of Vampire Counts. Our other compatriots one will be playing ogres and the other will be doing dark elves. so should be an interesting thing for our painting escalation campaign thingy.

Either way have a good time subscribe. I do enjoy the feed back comments and constructive criticism. Miss heretic will need some help too as shes never done anything like this.

We should have her models in about two an a half -three weeks.

So far Miss Heretic has decided to go for a winterish color scheme for her elves. I think its going to look cool. i have seen summer spring and fall but never a winter. so exciting times are ahead.

So, quick update. As it stands my first army will be wood elves. This is what we've short-listed for the time being:

Really looking forward to getting my hands on the book and the first part of my army. Will begin posting pictures a soon as I get my hands on the box o' models :-)

Again, winter themed paint jobs. So, think whites and shades of grey and blue, with metallic silver accents. Dappled grey on any horses that might be acquired :-)

For the wood elves you should look at ordering the treewoman by ultraforge. Jeremy has since sold that company and started a kickstarter that will hopefully fulfill this year which has a second treewoman, so stay away from those hideous gw tree things....unless you like those models, I just prefer the treewoman model .

Oooh, very nice idea Theopony. I did plan to get one eventually, the treeman that is, because it just yelled "pick me, I'm an ent" teehee.

started my grudge thrower. like a dummy i accidentally threw the box away so im building this one blind >.< ill figure it out eventually.

Ibn other news...we may start a campaign...we are in the process of talking on what we want in it...so options for me to run dwarfs and vampires...her woodies or dark elves....

if she goes woodies as first armys vampires if she goes dark elvs shell face the wrath of my stunties. either way it should be fun.

That Vampire counts list is awesome I love the names of each unit I'm sure the Wood elves will be getting names also. Awesome.

Its a little hard to see, but it looks fine as far as I can tell.

Do you have like a desk lamp or work lamp you use when painting?

well the pictures were taken via phone. and when she updates again we will be using a digicam and outdoor lighting. cause natural light and all.

Just a quick word up date on things. Miss Heretic has decided against the woodies for now and is going dark elves.

In the news of the forces of Elsa Tulon all i have to complete is Elsa. Pics will either be forth comming with a bump or next friday.

So I also decided to be a special kid and do two other armies while working on the Vampires. I'm also working on the Dwarfs and the Lizardmen. Lists will be forth coming.

So like i said we are working on building a two person linear story campaign. The combatants are Dark Elves played by miss heretic and dwarfs played by me. Should be fun. Have the Rules wrote up already so toast. The next step is to work on background fluff for why they are fighting and what they are fighting for. Miss heretic is gonna write the dark elf stuff and im writing the dwarf stuff. and it will be a story told from both ends. should be fun. with pictures and stuff as well

I know i said originally id be working on vampires but well...i have a crap ton of stunties and they need lotta love. so For this particular campaign its them. but like i said i shall be working on three armies at the same time.

Bama's objectives of the day:

3. Paint Elsa
4. Build Great weapon Dwarf Warriors possibly paint
5. Build Movement Trays

Heyo! so long time no speaky. I been a busy monkey that's for sure been working on some stunties and lizardmen. I decided to put the Vampires on the back burner for a bit. I like em but i i wanna focus on my original loves in fantasy lizardmen and dwarfs. So a while ago i ended up with a BFSP dwarf set. and that was the beginning of my army. got that painted. Bought two boxes of hammerers. got one box assembled and painted. Then ended up with a really awesome trade and now i have a shoe box full o stunties. and i been slowly digging at them (In most rpgs if dwarf is a playable race thats what i play). And now im trying to empty said shoe box. The lizardmen well when i first got into fantasy when i got into 40k i ended up with them in a trade and really liked the fluff and what not and well just fell in love with the models. didnt have the old book but i had a digi copy and played the crap outta them. it was a lot of fun. For the longest of times i couldnt figure out how to paint the saurus warriors so i thought about trading them i did trade some of it away (big mistake) and i was left with a sizeable force still(about 800 points minus wargear) and kept it in my storage shed. Enter the new book thought was cool did some research liked the new models. Lifes good. debated if i should get it. Well seventh ed 40k rolled around and from what i read and watched of it it really doesnt hold any appeal to me at this junction. so i started gaming fantasy. enter miss heretic taking an interest in warhams. liked the brets so i helped her build a small bret force. liked elves so she debated an elf army for a month or so. then i told her about warriors of chaos and how they were evil vikings and thats all she wrote lol. yea she has a chaos army its about 1k before wargear. she can tell you about it when she logs on. I'm sorry I digress. So i see the Lizardman book at my flgs and i go why not. i pick it up and it renews my interest in them i dig them outta storage figure out a scheme i really like and furiously begin painting. If you remember my old 40k blog i had lizards on their. but it was the skinks. well saurus warriors have a scheme and i think its pretty awesome.

So for my lizardmen i decided to name them after all mexican dishes and for my dwarfs all something to do with beer...cuase dwarfs and beer go hand in hand. lizardman since they hail from lustria which if you wanna get technical and real world is the amazon southern mexico central america and yucatan peninsula would have some spainish influences. (aztecs and mayans nuff said)

so fun fact first two warhammer models i bought were metal lizardmen saurus warriors and some troll slayers back when the blisters were i wanna say red. thats when i fell in love with those armies...i was fifteen or sixteen at the time...my first slayers if i can find him ill show you him and his horrid paint job he had a blue mohawk. *sighs fondly*

any way if you made it through my rant and my small walk down memory lane we have an internet cookie and some pics of the lizard men. Next update will have stunties in it.

Cool! A fantasy blog. I like it! I'm working on Orcs n Goblins right now as my main project.

A quick tip on the VC, I would honestly drop the corpse cart as they wont be able to keep up with your army. You can use the extra points to fill out the skeletons or zombies. Another thing you don't have a whole lot of killing power outside the vampire. So I might suggest ghouls or even vargheists in lower points

also miss heretic good job on your first model! Better than what I did when I first started, I would suggest a wash on the white, maybe a nuln thinned out to give the horse some depth, and a thinned out blue like drakonhof nightshade for the blue

Personal preference I like the vargheists for their S5 attacks and frenzy and they are flying and vampiric so they can march/fly 20 inches

I like the horrors rediculous toughness and regen, again like you said personal preference
