Has anyone noticed something odd about the missions?

Mission 2, the marine forces (5 guys) are set up by alternating between the players to place one marine anywhere on the board. Genestealers can't enter through an entryway with a marine within 6 squares. ALL stealer entry points can be blocked by a total of 2 marines, meaning it's possible for the marine player to achieve victory before the beginning of turn one.

Have I missed something, or is this horrendously poorly thought through?

M.

(p.s. the box, miniatures, artwork and everything are awesomely great. Can't wait to get playing.)

You can't place em anywhere on the board, only in one of the 5 rooms.

ah, ok. I thought it said something like "On any square on the board, with any facing" and got worried. Glad to see it's me wrong as per usual.

Finally got mine. It's absolutely everything that I was hoping it would be. The models look awesome. I even got my first game in tonight. Just made the amount of models I needed to play, and I'll clean them up later.

Anyone have a shot of the part of the box shows the colors used to paint the minis inside?

I'm positive somewhere I saw a photo of the colors the 'eavy metal team used. I mainly want to know the colors used in the fleshy parts of the 'stealers (the purple color).

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

If you have the September issue of white dwarf it shows you how to paint the termies and genestealers. I love it and would buy it but i prefer tabletop battles.

Also, not that I or indeed Dakka would condone such activities, but I have noticed that the print outs from here are of a very high quality, almost usable for playing Space-Hulk-esq games on themselves.

Hopefully you ordered one, and your name's on it, because at this point, GW's online store is sold out...
I would rather see you have a copy, but not be able to use it, than have your parents try to find it near Christmas and get slaughtered on the price in a very Tickle-me-Elmo situation.
Either way, here's hoping you get your copy.

That program is very cool. It's also clever, as it has every single tile type and crosses each one out as you use it, meaning you'll never go over what you own by accident.

Not quite, but it gets the basis of it. The WD one didn't have how to paint the genestealers in it, and used Sgt Valencio as the template.... probably just because there was more detail (ie the cloak) to deal with. But that one that you've posted should do quite well. Good find

It comes in a small box for $50. The name of the mission is "Save the Scribe" and comes with a model of Jervis Johnson for use in the mission.
