its the UK issue,

Step 1,.

The cream areas (chest, eagle and shoulder pads) were base coated with Khemri Brown, the red Armour started with a 2:1 mix of Blood Red and Dark Flesh.

Step 2,.

The Armour was then shaded with a 1:1 mix of Dark Flesh and Chaos Black, the cream areas were shaded with Scorched Brown.

Step 3,.

The Eagle and shoulder pads were then layered with Bleached Bone, the Armour was given a line highlight of Blood red.

Step 4,.

Further highlights of Blazing Orange followed by Vomit Brown (Nice names they have here) was applied to the Armour, the cream areas were highlighted with pure Skull White.

Wow, nothing at all like the recepie I use.

Also Blood Ravens dont have cream chest eagles, they have black, well done GW lol

Roleplayer, your full army pics are epic. Well done. Its been the work of years but it's really good. Its great to see that you're only human and that although you paint to a super standard it still takes the investment of time...Keep up the great work!

Well I haven't checked on the progress of the army in a while, the armyshoot looks great mate, it really has inspired me to get the rest if my ravens painted up. Blood Ravens are indeed meant to have black chest plates, personally i Prefer the bone chest plate but each to his/her own i guess.

I also use a recipe nothing like MR Dee for my blood ravens, sounds like a very lazy one anyways...

I remember someone said exactly the same thing to me once when I said using a similar method to paint skin for a vampire, its harsh but true. If thats good enough for you and your happy with the result then I am happy for you, just by looking at how Roleplayer has painted some of his models I can see he a painter capable of using far more advanced techniques.

seriously if you highlighting your looking at about 6/7 stages atleast unless you are being lazy, I certainly have done this when I', batch painting.

Would love to see some MKVI Blood Ravens

I actually think with a little work the MK III would make some really cool Sternguard models, with blood ravens that would love some room to greenstuff some raven symbols and blood drops on the chest plates. MK VI could look pretty cool as well, hell MKV would be just as nice!
