Thats interesting but I think I'll be giving the Gotham range a miss. Just not my sort of thing.

I'm still waiting for the movie Catwoman (Anne Hathaway).

The models are nice, though a bit pricey. How is it as an actual game though?

I like the game. To be fair, it fits my preferred style though.

I like small, skirmish games, and in Batman Miniatures Game (BMG) it would be difficult to use more than 10 models. Knight Models suggests 300 points as a good game, tournaments are pushing 350. Most bands at those levels use between 5-10 models for that. It can be significantly lower--as few as 2-3.

I like superheroes, but have always liked "street level" (not cosmic-style) heroes. Most of the models for this game are not supers/metas; there's a huge debate about whether or not to include even a TV version of the Flash.

I like pre-planning strategy games. There is definite open resource management in the beginning of each round (like how Warmachine uses focus on their casters).

I like games that are not just brawls. BMG uses a point system to determine winners. Some points are awarded for defeating enemies. But, there are many options to earn points by taking control of specific locations/items in the game.

So, yeah, I think its a good game. But that's because it hits my favorite points in tabletop gaming.

There are issues. The two largest to me are the translation issues (and there are many) and that Knight Models does not yet have good success at distributing into the US (low supplies and significant delays in releases).

I pre-ordered the new rulebook through Miniature Market - but it appears to be stuck in 'processing'.

Has anyone else ordered from the Miniature Market - and if yes, has it shipped to you yet?

Interesting.

There have been no sightings of books in the US that came through direct order from Knight Models. There have been a few in the US in brick and mortar stores. There have even been a few that have come from overseas orders through online storefronts.

I have seen a few US online stores have it for sale. I figured they would be in stock and shipping by now.

Its certainly been a major frustration to watch this delay unfold.

Well, par for the course for Knight Models selling into the USA though.

Also, The Warstore has the book listed as in stock and for sale...

I got my book from a seller on Arkham City Limits, all the reports about the quality are true. The rules are tight, it is a great system.

Was it Endalyon?

He seems to be prepping to open a US store with direct distribution from Knight Models. Hopefully soon and hopefully with more current releases than can be currently fond in the US.

I ordered directly from Knight Models, mainly because I ended up getting free shipping. I also wanted it sooner than having to wait for US places to get it in stock. Mine arrived on March 23th, which I promptly posted some pictures on Facebook to entice a few of my friends who are huge DC and Batman fans.

Thanks Dark Severance! You are the first US book direct from KM. And that's out of hundreds that are on the Official forums and Facebook page.

Would you mind clarifying if you preordered or not? I ask because I preordered, and I still do not have the book a week after you say you have it. I'm also on the West Coast.

It was all preordered, the books are REALLY staggered. Another person in my city received his book over a week ago now, and we both preordered from KM. it's really random

Some of the BMG books have printing globs that stick the pages together. In the back and forth of trying to get this sorted out and replaced, my partner asked about Felicity and Diggle for use with Arrow.

I did pre-order mine. Two of my friends (Seatte, WA and Burbank, CA) also got their order last week but I believe they pre-ordered through Firestorm Games.

It seems rather difficult to find a good selection of models in stock in the US. miniaturemarket.com and thewarstore.com carry them, but are sold out of a lot of the stuff.

US distribution/stock is very much an issue. Atomic games also carries some. Its almost better to order from other (UK) web stores and hope the shipping cost remains low.

Not only are stocks constantly low, but the releases to the US are notoriously behind. Even if you find stock at any of those sites, you will not be able to find releases that are less than 2 months old. For example, none of them have the Joker Titan yet, and that was released over a month ago. Their most current releases are from December, I think.

There is an individual in the US that is attempting to put together a US webstore. I will post here if it comes to fruition.

Yep that is unfortunately the current issue with anything in this line. The game looks good, the miniatures aren't too bad but overall trying to get things timely is very difficult. I believe the game itself could flourish and do really well if this wasn't an issue but because of it, it becomes difficult to get people committed to playing it.

Please do!

And good luck to him - I suspect that he'll do quite well IF he can get and maintain good stock levels.

Especially once KNIGHT releases rules for the Marvel side of things...

I got my Wolverine, Deathstroke, and Cyclops. I'm waiting on my copy of a rulebook (with Alfred), Batman, Nightwing, Red Hood (Jason), Bane, Captain America and Deadpool. The three I have are fantastic. Very nice sculpts, minimal mold lines to clean. Very impressed. Well worth the $20 price tags.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Where did you buy them from - or did you go directly to KNIGHT?

Certainly a boon for combined comic/gaming shops!

Kirasu: Have we fallen so far that we are excited that GW is giving us the opportunity to spend 58$ for JUST the rules? Surprised it's not "Dataslate: Assault Phase"

I saw that Firestorm games in the UK offers free world wide shipping on orders over 30 pounds and under 2 kg weight, but I haven't ever ordered anything from them.

Atomic Empire is US based and fairly cheap. I have a question out to see if they can order the newer releases.

Bought them from my friend's store. He still has Killer Croc, Scarecrow and some goons on the shelf. It's in Oneonta, NY. He has more set to come in soon, but that's what he could get his hands on for now.

Hey all, I'm thinking of getting into this game. Besides the rulebook, what should I buy first? There really isn't an obvious starter set to grab so I'm looking for suggestions.

Thinking 2 factions to get going. Open on point limits, enough for a good game without going wild.

Thanks ahead of time.

40k: Nids, Orks, Guard, GSC
AOS: Vampires, Beastmen, Ogres, Dwarves
WarmaHordes: Menoth, Legion, Skorne, Convergence
Dropzone Commander: All 5
Infinity: Combined Army
Malifaux: Arcanists, Neverborn, Guild
Dark Age: Forsaken
Flames of War: Germany

I'd say if you're a fan of the batman mythos, go with you who like. Don't worry about rules or anything, find starter crew you like and build up from there.

http://bat-builder.com/

Here's an invaluable asset to help you decide. You can start off with a leader, decide on a point level you'd like to start at, and go from there.

To start off I'd suggest going in at 200 points. it's small enough games to learn, but you have enough options to have some fun with your build.

Keep in mind you can only have 1 Sidekick, 1 Free agent per full 150 pts

If you have any questions in general about any of the characters or any questions of the sort, feel free to PM me so we dont clutter up ther thread since this is news and rumours

@Alpharius... I pre-ordered my book and Alfred from miniature market as well. I haven't heard a peep from them yet and see it is still listed as a pre-order on their site.

Guess I should have waited and spent a little more to get one off ebay.

Yeah I am leaning towards ordering from Firestorm Games since they have free international shipping on orders over $44.50 and under 4.4 pounds.
