I heard there was going something like some kind of mini seminar like at gencon since Carlos is going be there, is that true?

I believe DragonCon and PAX Prime are going on right now and this weekend. I'm unsure if CB has anything to do with either.

Nova Open started yesterday and Gutier (Interruptor) is attending. He'll be doing a seminar in a few hours, and another one tomorrow IIRC.

Never let me hear you saying that again Loki!

The original Maghariba is magnificent!

(new one does look rather cool though.. )

Agreed. I liked the spider tank. Just not the size. :( If all they had done was update it's look and re-size it, I would have been a happy camper.

So Kornak will be a release for September or October?

Are you hoping it is bigger or smaller with the new version?

I expect that this version will fit on a 55mm base, instead of a 75mm base, which is what the old (or soon to be old) Mag Guard was supposed to go on. So, smaller.

I can't see them shrinking the Maghariba Guard that much!

I think CB said they will be 7 Silhouette levels.

My guess would be

S1 Palbot size
S2 human size (we know this for sure)
S3 Ajax and big Morat size
S4 REMs size
S5 Smaller TAGs (Gecko)
S6 normal size TAGs
S7 Mag

So I would doubt they change the Mag size much if at all, unless I'm missing a size category. Plus it wasn't on the list for base size change.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

I hope that is the case. Going smaller wouldn't do that mag concept art justice if someone is supposed to be physically inside it.

Sure it could. The person could be laid out like in a submersible.

Honestly though I think the new Maghriba will be in the same silhouette band as remotes/bots.

I really dig the relaxed pose on the Missile Launcher guy.

I'd say more the same as whatever Geckos are going to get. Seems like it'll be about their height, about half to three quarters the height of a proper TAG. But yeah, giving it the silhouette of an upright bipedal TAG wouldn't seem right. Remote seems a bit small - remember, there's still a pilot in there.

Yeah, I can see Mag being S5 and the other TAGs S6 and S7. Either way I don't see it getting smaller.

I'm still surprised that the Mag got a redesign. I'd have rather seen something like the Szalamandra get a redesign. That ugly ass thing needs a redo. Or at least a re-pose.

Those Fusiliers look really nice. They almost tempt me to actually try and make a functional PanO force, rather than just buying figures piecemeal because they look cool.

Truth is the Specops Satchel's (especially Indigo's) got really positive response so not much surprise Fusiliers got it.

The backpack and hip bag are noticeably smaller. On that scale I wouldn't mind it as it actually adds something to the miniature, rather than simply more mass to paint and easier to chip off (drop Indigo and he's going to be fine, clip Rao and I can't guarantee the same). Deja vu discussion, that you are welcomed to continue with someone else and in appropriate sub forum.

I love that Fusilier missile launcher pose, about time we saw a different pose for a missile launcher

Hope it doesn't accidentally go off whilst he's leaning on it.

I never expected to say that about an Infinitymodel one day but I wholeheartedly hate the Fusilier misslelauncherpose. No dynamic whatsoever in something that belongs to a friggin fireteam on a battlefield. I mean not having the gun in a position that is halfway combatlike is one thing I can live with but also having no movement/dynamic whatsover is poor (The new female Fusilier is borderline in that). Together with the different size of rifles in female models (Bolt and Fusilier) and no backpack on the female Fusilier I start to wonder what they are thinking. Disappointing.

Oh come on. It's not like it's the first time they've done a non-combat pose with a gun. What difference does it make that the model can go in a fireteam? They're all in a combat situation.

I mean, the Al Hawwa is stricking a pretty pose leaning on her sniper rifle. It's in no way a combat functional pose. Same as the Muyib striking a pretty pose on her Spitfire. Or the Fiday striking a pretty pose on her shotgun.

The anime 'strike a pose' cliche is all through the games range.

True that. Still doesn´t change the validity of my complaint, does it? It is admittedly the first time that I am affected by that. Thus my frustration. I doubt though that the Misslelauncher Fusilier will see much use outside of a linkteam though. At least in my case. If he were, it would be less of a problem. As it is, the interaction with the other new Fusliers is not to my liking. Even for anime ´strike a pose` cliche he looks bored more then anything else. Very inspiring. ;-)

So if he was better out of a link team, the pose would be less of a problem...?

I wasn't attacking the validity of your complaint. It's a common complaint about Infinity. I was commenting on:

If you're only just now seeing a model in a cliche 'strike a pose' stance and dislike it, you haven't looked very hard.

Also, one of my examples was a link team model. The Muyib leaning on her Spitfire. There's another in that link team set - the 'casually walking away from an explosion cool guy' posed Muyib with DEP.

It really is a common thing in Infinity, and it's not going to change. CB love it.

He makes a valid point.

Fireteams are an instance where it would have been best to give the entire unit a flowing, unified look. The models could be done in such a way that it is a very nice and dynamic look, almost creating a diorama for you with no effort.

The best example of that, in my opinion, is the Nomad Wildcats. When you take the models individually? They are nothing really special. There's two guys pointing rifles, a woman with her rifle at her side and her arms held low, a guy with the Spitfire in a strange "legs braced and one angry hand at his side" pose, and then the woman with the HRL and the "Gotcha!" pose.
But when you mount them on a diorama base with a shuttle preparing to lift off with the riflemen behind some rubble, the more "relaxed" Wildcat rifle lady and the Wildcat HRL lady in a bit of rubble further back, and the Spitfire guy's "angry hand" banging against the rear door of the shuttle?
Suddenly you have a story. It is not hard to envision a team of Wildcats that are covering an evacuation of a valuable piece of technology/cargo/personnel and preparing to sell their lives dearly.

That is how it should be done when sculpting models that can be linked.

It is cleaverly desquised as "Some speculation" topic.

Also feel free to speculate on more then just the govad, I am trying to separate the speculation from this thread into a more proper spot.

That's what I meant. I've got nothing against the old one - I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't think it was awesome. But the new one just walks all over it (literally - it actually can walk instead of roll around on giant skates).

And I have some doubt that they will make them AVA 2 in Caliphate (even though it would make sense), so the chances of my old one seeing the table once the new one is out is pretty slim.

People said the same thing about Geckos being AVA 4 in Corregidor, but I could see AVA 2 for Maghribas in Caliphate.
