There are a couple of guys who are joining the forums and then posting links to porn sites. 40k online has just had one.

We need these idiots banned ASAP.

are they here? If so where and who?

Kyoto-san was a humble government worker. Everyday he shuffled
from his house to the embassy, bearing documents to be signed by
great public officials promising big promises between his native land
(so far away) and "the Red Land" (where all government officials learn
their trade). He did not meet the eyes of those that signed or sent him
with orders to get signed. His eyes remained low, bowed, respectful,
and Kyoto-san only ever saw the folded hands, the desks, and the
feet of those men in power above him.

In this way, Kyoto-san lived. - Malfred

[quote name='Beef' post='1551252' date='Apr 22 2008, 03:10 PM']You said it, we dont control the rules so we should stop trying to control the tournaments. Let the person with the most abusive list win. If you dont like it take the same list as him/her. Tournamenst should apeal to hardcore gamers and non hardcore gamers alike I agree but the ones who are not hardcore should not cry about it when they get thrashed. Its like saying everybody should be able to play in the NFL. Fine but when you get people who are crap and they get a leg broken they should not moan about it. If you play against the hard core you should except the fact you might lose.

Beef I've got to applaud you on this statement, it brought a smile to my face and it's actually won me around to your way of thinking. Tournaments are there to be won, plain and simple and as you say, if you play with the big boys then you've gotta be prepared for the consequences.

Because we are all sad and lonely and perverts...

Seriously though, 40k and picking up women/men don't exactly go hand in hand, I didn't start playing again until I was married because it is the perfect hobby for married men.

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.

I'm not sad or lonely. But I am a pervert.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

Don't say you're not. I agree with happypants, this hobby is time consuming. At one point in my life I would sometimes stay in on a weekend to finish my models. Porn was my friend.

It interesting that the hobby uis almost ideal for a husband, but poor for a boyfriend.

Depends.  If you want your boyfriend to actually spend time with you, and go out to 'cool' places, then 40k is not a good hobby.  If you want to know where your boyfriend is (playing geek games with his friends in some musty basement or FLGS), then its great.

Likewise, if you want your husband to avoid strip clubs, ahem *gentleman's clubs*, and bars, then again, its great.

I'm currently moving into the husband category, and hope that I can still find time to at least paint :|

yeah I hardly touched 40k when I was single or going out with somebody. If lucky in those days I would paint one mini a month. But now that I am married I can do an army in the same time. when your not married you would rather be out there with friend/girlfriend/or potential girlfriends, BUT when your married anything to avoid the missus talk about re-decorating or just general Nagging.

@cruentus  Yes you will have plenty of time to paint when your married, because if nothing else it will distract you from all the nagging you will be getting.

Also you enjoy being around family more at that point (hopefully), and painting/converting is a nice little side hobby to whilst the rugrats are fluttering about.

Nagging = evil.
Most probably a nescesary one.
No, I did not put that stuff away yet. Yes, I will do it before the end of time. No, you don't always need to remind me.
Fact: She does always need to remind me. That's why I got me a wife in the first place. So I don't forget things.

Edit: I <3 pron!

I did actually turn down a date once because I wanted to work on my minis.

Turned that stupid Skull Pass "grudge" cart into a more propely Dwarven, beer cart.

I regret nothing.

I mean, let's be honest though, was she hot?

Exalt.
