Good S***, i am glad you found something that actually works, Also I love the Angron and can not wait to see him complete and Painted.

Here are a few more pics of some of the modelling that I did when I was home over the last 2 weeks.

I assembled a number of Havocs and some random dudes



I also did about 15 more of these but they didn't make it into a picture for some reason

A few close ups of the FW missle launchers. The backpacks def presented some fun modelling challenges but I managed to get things to work







Tossed a few freshly stripped eldar models togeather



oh, apparently I lied, I found a picture of a few more of the Havocs, still not all of them



I also picked up a few second hand FW models for my brothers Orkpocalypse Waaaagh



now I get to see how well simple green works on resin

I snapped a quick pic of the on eof the 2 bridges I got from Pegasus games. Super easy to assemble and will look good once they are painted up.



I base coated and clipped a massive stack of GW palm trees in preparation for some jungle terrain I'm working on



I also started blocking out colour with my airbrush on the awesome FW piece I picked up a while back.



And started working with some GW barbed wire that I picked up months ago.

and here is the start of what I am doing with it. This is one length stretched and glued to plasticard.



I'm quite a bit further along than this but I didn't get a chance to take any pics before I had to leave for work.

Soooo "project clean out my closet/bitzboxes" seems to be going quite well. All this must seem random to everyone out there but I have a pile of stuff that I need to get out of storage and out in the open assembled so I know what I'm truly up against!

This week I will be doing up a Battle Report from a 4 player 2500pt each random teams capture and hold game I played last weekend. I also brought a bunch of space marines up to work with me and will be posting my progress as I assemble them.

Here is a quick preview of the big game I had last week.

The teams ended up being Necrons + Space Marines VS Sisters of Battle + Chaos Space Marines

That sonic device did some great work! I'm especially impressed that it cleaned the plastic models.

The battle looks like fun. No comments on the painting...

And by that I assume you mean that the painting is so awe inspiring that you are rendered speechless

I'm hoping to continue my hyperdrive modelling kick while at work this time. I got ambitious and brought a SM Megaforce and 15 AoBR Marines with me to assemble into future Green Marines. I will be using the models to fill out gaps in my current force by outfitting them with hvy weapons, plasma guns, melta guns, power fists etc.

I have 17 guys assembled so far and can't wait to get back at it after work today!

Soooo here goes the rest of the battle report that I previewed.

Chaos and Sisters deployed first and go first.
The mission is capture and hold with 9 objectives.

Turn 1 moving



We had a very uneventful turn one followed by the Marines/Necrons giving us a bit of a pummeling



Vindicator was lost after a single round of shooting.

The middle of the table also tightened up.



On turn 2 the battle for the middle of the table and our *left flank* started to get interesting



The living saint heads up the charge after a squad of deathmarks lead by a special character port in behind them.



By the end of our turn 2 there were tanks carcases everywhere

A failed deep strike leaves 4 marines dead



heavy fighting starts





by the start of turn 3 there are troops on foot piled out of tanks all over!



And shortly after this is unfortunately where the game ends



The marines/necrons cenceded to us as there was no hope of them winning. By the end of our turn 3 we held 5 points, contested 3 and had 2 more in our sights to contest.

Not the most exciting game as our opponents made a few key errors that allowed our strategy to move them away from the capture points and hold our line.

On the plus side both of our opponents learned new things about the armies they were fielding.

Did you miss that Chaos was aligned with the inquisition? lol

Even with the 3 game quitzies it wasn't a short game by any means. We still got in a good 5 hours of play time Too much talking and not enough playing
Also a few of the combats got rediculously complicated in regards to asigning hits and wounds

So while I have been at work I have been bashing out the SM megaforce as well as the 15 AOBR marines I brought with me for this run.

I am using the marine bodies coupled with a box of bitz to try and fill out some of the gaps I have in my army as far as sergents, heavy weapons, melta guns and Plasma Guns.

So far I have 30 guys assembled in various configurations and will try to post up some pics later tonight if I can get them to upload on my slow connection

That sounds like a good use of extra AOBR minis. Thankfully, those things are fairly cheap.

Yeah I picked them up for a song. They work very very well as rank and file fillers

I just did a bad.... I bought 9 bloodcrushers and 2 soul grinders so I can field a Chaos Daemons Army >.<

So I'm up to 35 marines built now and get to have fun finishing the last 10 tonight with FW Heavy weapons that don't seem to like backpacks at all

@ giraffex lol yeah, I thought the chaos dudes were bad... the freaking over the shoulder FW marine hvy wps have the worst fitment I have seen on a GW model in a long long time!

Quick update today as I am still at work and only have an hour or two a day to do any work.

I finished all the devastators, 5 scouts with shotguns and a drop pod.

Haha, just how long have you been buying minis?

I have been buying mini's since the eraly 90's and it seems the older I get the easier it gets to afford them! Too bad that also means I have way less time to spend playing with them!

Heads you build the Storm and Tails you build the Storm. Just be sure to leave off bits that will make it tough to paint.

I'm pretty sure It's going to get sold.
I don't really like the Idea of the model and It's not perticularily competetive lol. If it were a dedicated transport for scouts It may be a different story lol! For now it will sit on the sprue

I ended up trading the storm for some old metal termies, so good deal for me!

Chaos or Loyalist termies?

Chaos termies of course Can't beat 10 termies for a silly speeder full of scouts!

I also got a few games in trying out my Chaos Daemons for the first time







These pics are from a crazy 4 player game we played out of the Battle Missions book. It was victory based on kill points but all non vehicle units that were killed were returned to reserve!

That 'Nid horde looks intimidating.

Did you know that you can change the color of your miniatures? They have this stuff called paint that comes in bottles and you can apply it with a really effective tool called a brush.

The armies are growing strong...and you already had big armies.

Yes and I really really need to spend some time making them pretty colours!

I have been so stuck on trying to get all of the stuff I have in the closet assembled that I keep ending up with more grey and silver

I think it may be time to buckle down with the airbrush and slam colour down on every model I own! Especially those poor poor neglected Tau!

I keep buying troops to make the armies that I have more competetive, but I seriously have to stop! And for the most part have!

..... well except for the fact that I somehow ended up with 20 traitor guard torsos that are trying to tempt me into putting togeather a 1500pt guard army.....

Well, having just poured over the whe of this I gotta say what a great blog you've got here! I totally recognise a kindred spirit in the obsessive building of stuff stakes - now where'd that Warhound get to? - and I also know the whole craziness of return to the hobby post-evil ex (I should add my wife of the ladt 6 years is very supportive of my toy habit however, mostly cos it keeps me out of trouble and away from musical theatre). Well and truly exalted chief!

The warhound.... Now that's a seperate issue entirely...

It was on the books to do some work on it the last time I was at home but all of my warhound time got taken up by adding 2 shelving units to my games room and moving everything all over!

On the plus side I have gained piles of room!

I think the Warhound is once again very close to the top of the list... hrmmm maybe I should make an actual list.....
