The paint doesn't look overly thick, so you'd never know! Can't wait to see the others :-) I need to paint some more Necromunda soon, but with no upcoming games it's hard to build up motivation.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

I hear you. My motivation comes from wanting to paint up the whole gang I'm using, but of course when I finish it I will have brought in new members and have to paint those, etc

@edc Thanks a lot! Yeah I'm especially fond of the dog myself

Added a couple of new members to the warband, it's feeling complete now and I'm starting on the basing.

First is a blind sniper. The servo skull hovering above his shoulder feeds pict data directly into his visual cortex, along with other data like wind conditions, distance, etc, to ensure the perfect shot.

Next we have the Inquisitor's head servant, her Magistratus Primarius, with scribe. I really liked the idea of multibasing these guys, since they'd basically both be following along in the Inquisitor's footsteps, trying their best to read her every move. Obviously they also needed a servo skull to complete the servant trio! Didn't do any conversions on these guys because they are already so awesome.

That blind sniper is inspired. Love it

Yeah the blind sniper is brilliant. I think putting the scribe and aid on the same base is a great idea.

Thank you much sirs! It really motivates me to hear that people enjoy my stuff. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment :-)

The Blind Sniper was a bit of a conundrum though, as I was asking on Facebook whether or not to lose the flag, since I was unsure of it at first. I have another flag that flaps a lot more , but it's more of a banner and I didn't think it fit the aesthetic as well. Most people said to lose the flag... but I didn't because I love it

Started painting my rogue Eldar psyker. The robe and skin is done, unhappy with the mask and might repaint it entirely, maybe in metallic.

She looks great mym. Actually I quite like the mask. Colour is menacing And it goes really well with the skin tones.

Cool. Skin tones look great.

Thanks guys! Depressingly enough, the skin is done with just three Citadel Paints, Kislev Flesh > Reikland Fleshshade > Kislev Flesh > Pallid Wytch Flesh... and it looks better than the skin I did on my Escher using my fancy skin paint set from Scale 75 :(

Did he hair on the psyker today. Took like an hour with all those strands! Highlights are dark reaper > Thunderhawk blue > Russ grey.

Doing some desert terrain for my club, we wanted to do a themed table so I'm chipping in with some stuff and also organizing a terrain building day. I'm doing polystyrene stuff first and then we'll do buildings, trees, painting etc together. Here's what I've done so far, the last pic is obviously only a rough start.

Long time no see guys! What happened since last time? Well, I finished the desert terrain. I quickly realized I would need bases to prevent chipping, and I also made some extra pieces and also slathered them in a couple of layers of PVC+water after painting. Now they should be sturdy enough for club use. Pics:

Phew! That took waaay longer than I anticipated. I did the first batch in one week, then it took another week to make the rest, do hardboard bases and seal everything (hopefully) against damage.

In bigger news though... I got an airbrush!

I splurged and got an Iwata Eclipse. Wonderful little thing. The compressor is an AS189. The first night I had the PSI on full blast and didn't realize it, so naturally that didn't go too well... the second night I realized it and got started on my Vyper jetbikes:

White primer, black pre-shading, VGC Falcon Turqoise base, GW Temple Guard Blue highlight. Sadly it all looks like a uniform blue in this pic. Obviously the riders and canopy aren't in this pic and I haven't painted any details. I will also edge highlight with Baharroth Blue which is a very light blue. I haven't been able to airbrush more than two nights since I've been cranking away at the terrain, but now that's done!

Hello? *echoes*

Huh, I guess it's my fault for being so infrquent with my updates. Any blogger/Youtube celebrity will tell you that the first rule for success is content, content, content at a very regular pace. I hope you guys enjoy what I'm posting when I DO manage to post, I certainly have no intention of giving up anytime soon. It's just a bit hard to find frequent hobby time with a two-year old and a wife diverting my attention away from my little manz If you are reading though, please give a shoutout so I know you're there :-D

Anyway, I'll be attending a tournament in september sometime, and until then I intend to have a 2000 point Eldar list as finished as possible. I'll be posting a full list later, for now you'll have to make do with a Picture of Another ongoing project that I just started:

That's right, dropper bottles! Oh man I'm so looking forward to transferring close to 100 Citadel Paints to these bad boys... not really, although the result should be awesome.

Have thought about doing this a few times but .....urrgghhhh. how to get every last drop out of the original bottles

Yeah, that's the problem... you won't. On the other hand, think about how much paint you're wasting when it dries around the lid and how many times you peel off that dried crust over the lifetime of a pot.

Clearance at the local store... Might have bought some stuff accidentally:

Never played LotR, but all that was about $70 so it was impossible to resist. Assembled some of it yesterday but really need to not get sidetracked from my Eldar. Currently working on my Striking Scorpions.

Oh my! That's quite the haul! All of that for $70 sounds an unbelievable steal.

Your desert terrain looks fricken awesome too. Reminds me of 3rd edition battle reports in White Dwarf. I might have to make some rocky outcrops using the same method myself. How have they held up after a few games?

Thanks a lot Bottle! It was indeed an insane deal. They had just slapped a $5 sticker on any unit-sized box, including the insanely expensive Troll trio I'm pretty happy with it and looking forward to trying out some LotR. For this amount of money I'm treating it more like a board game, something I can invite others to play with me sometimes while I provide everything necessary.

About the terrain, comparing it to WD is a HUGE compliment seeing as my first contact with GW was right at the end of 2nd ed 40k and I always loved the terrain they had back then (remember the polystyrene ball+cocktail stick "cactuses"? And the amazing plastic container space ship) It's basically made with nothing but a knife for cutting out rough shapes, and then a hot wire cutter to shape the edges and grooves. I made them without bases first, but the sharp edge on the underside quickly chipped and I realized bases were necessary. In the process I also used quite a lot more PVA+water to try and further prevent chipping. I've only used it once myself, and I think it's been used two or three times at the club since then but I haven't been there to check for possible damage. My guess is they're fairly sturdy now, with the possible exception of the stone pillars. Those do have barbecue sticks shoved right through them from top to bottom to make sure the individual pieces don't come loose, but they might chip easier.

Desert table looks excellent. Looks like lots of possibilities with the hills you made as well.

THe blue you have on the jetbikes is beautiful . I bought a airbrush a couple years back but haven't put it to great use yet. I just can't get the setting right or something.

Thanks Theo! Yeah I'm pretty pleased with the desert table. So pleased that when I finished it, I almost wished I'd made it for myself rather than the club

What sort of airbrush and compressor do you have? Honestly it didn't take much more than a night of spraying for me to get the settings right, mostly the PSI on the compressor and then a bit of trigger control on the airbrush itself.

It's a badger compressor and a clone of an eclipse I think. Dsteingass sent the airbrush to me said it was a good starter for $25. I think it's a combo of the settings and not having the paint thinner correctly.

Nice LotR haul too.

Mymearan, you have some incredible models & terrain here! That highway section immediately reminded me of the one from Cities of Death. Your Dark Elf Sorceress conversion is fantastic! I have already cannibalized her head for another conversion, but had no idea what to do with the rest of the model. However, I do now! Don't worry about your amount of updates; your quality definitely beats quantity. I look forward to more of your superb work

Cultists, Mutants, Traitors, & Dregs of Society - a Lost and the Damned PLOG

Then suddenly I saw it. With only a slight churning to mark its rise to the surface, the thing slid into view above the dark waters. Vast, Polyphemus-like, and loathsome, it darted like a stupendous monster of nightmares to the monolith, about which it flung its gigantic scaly arms, the while it bowed its hideous head and gave vent to certain measured sounds. I think I went mad then.

That's some high praise LostCarcosa, thank you kindly! Feedback like yours is incredibly inspiring :-)
I think once or twice a month will be my update pace from now on, sudden flurries of activity aside. I feel more comfortable posting finished models and I don't paint fast to say the least...
