Subject: Age of Sigmar News & Rumours - Duardin Fyreslayers page 17
Dark Elves, Vampires, and Bretonnians are still just that--Bretonnians, Dark Elves, and Vampires.
We haven't seen what they become beyond that or if they'll even retain the same general background. I'm, personally, thinking that we'll find out when we get the Shadowkin stuff that is mentioned in Fyreslayers.
And this far into the game not knowing any of that is a big problem
To be fair we actually do know a bit about Vampires. They're still called Vampires and one makes an appearance in the Age of Sigmar novels from what I've been told. They're "native" to the Realm of Death(shocker!) but have been elsewhere because of the Realmgates. They also seem to follow Nagash.
Oh, and Mannfred is supposed to still be around. And apparently he really dislikes the Stormcast.
Dark Elves, like all of the Elves, we haven't really seen. We know they're still around and we know that Malerion is Malekith 'reborn' and that they seem to hang around the Realm of Shadow. Wood Elves and High Elves seem to be in the Realm of Life.
Bretonnians, like the Empire, seem to be all over the place.
What we don't know is how the cultures have evolved or changed. The only real hint that I've seen of late for Dark Elves is the Shadowkin led by the Shroudling Lords.

Thanks. It looks like $160 or $180. Both are acceptable prices. I might pick one up. By the old pricing (4 Warriorr short) it's about $272 retail. So fingers crossed it's the $160 but a solid discount regardless.

Yep Mannfred is still around and so it appears is at least a version of Neferta - Another vampire called Cassyandra had a run in with the Fyreslayers which had quite an amusing ending...well for the dwarves

Oh, and Mannfred is supposed to still be around. And apparently he really dislikes the Stormcast.
Mannfred dislikes everyone but Mannfred. In regards to his attitude to Stormcast:
Spoiler:
He was freed by the Stormcast.
Mannfred saved them on one or two occasions on their quest to an audience with nagash, for which he was their guide.
Mannfred didn't seem too keen to find Nagash, but stayed true to his word(shocker!!) and took them to their destination.
He did try to betray them to Nagash to placate him and avert his scrutiny (which wasn't a shocker).
But he was saved by Tarsus, a Lord Celestant, but formerly a friend/ comrade in arms to Mannfred in Tarsus's mortal life before his reforging.
Other than Mannfred making good on his escape, we get no word on how Mannfred will react to Tarsus' sacrifice, like if Mannfred will make amends and attempt to free him from Nagashs tortures, or just forget about him. Hope he saves Tarsus!
It will be neat to see if there is any evolution to Mannfreds character. Ever since the Vampire Wars trilogy and all the fiction up to and including the End Times, he seemed like a completely irredeemable character, but we'll see with the evolving storyline.
Thats all taken from the AoS audiobook series, (aside from my own opinion/conjecture in the last few sentences)which was pretty awesome, loved it. Particularly Nagashs monologues at the start of each audiobook, and then his monologue at the climax of the series.

The CAD price is $215 -- so based on pricing of other kits, it's probably $180. For example, Archaon is $165 USD / $200 CAD.

I've had my eye on some Chaos Knights for a while, hopefully the rebox brings down the $/model, and lets me pick some up on the sprue from Ebay or something.
I also really hope that a few more of the "start collecting" bundles come out for other armies. Unfortunately, all of the ones on offer don't have a very good mix of "things I want" vs. "meh, more plastic for the pile." I would be all over a Beastmen or Woodelf one (I know, I know, crazy talk)

It's been widely speculated that the Celestant Prime is either Karl Franz or Valten, but it could very well just be some random soldier from the Age of Sigmar universe.

Valten would be more likely, since Sigmar took over Karl's body during the End Times. Presumably, he's still there.

The Trials of the Everchosen is approaching and we thought it would be cool to show off the first battleplan we'll be using at the weekend. A valiant hero descends deep into the clutches of a waiting monstrosity - will our champion prevail or end up as another carcass on the monster's lair? Note that this is just a work in progress version, so it may change before the event itself! If you want to get involved on the weekend check out the event pack here

Thanks, yes I saw that. Unless GW forgot to put up the preorders this week I guess there is nothing coming out this Saturday and the Balance of Power (cool name) is coming out alongside the Wulfen then?
Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Uh, preorders don't come up until tomorrow. THIS is what you'll see for preorders tomorrow (since its already tomorrow in New Zealand).

If there's enough art and fluffy stuff I may be tempted. Just dropped off a bunch of old clutter to sell that should go pretty quickly from the consignment case.
Now just bring on Warhammer Quest: The Realmgate Wars!
Infinitely expandable tilesets as you travel from one realm to another... c'mon GW, this stuff could be bringing in even more $$$ if you'd just let it and give the people (me) what they want!
Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
More price per model drops in the new Chaos reboxings. Marauder horsemen got a pretty nice drop, and now all the extra weapons are included in the Chaos Warrior repack.

Where did you see that the extra weapons are coming? You mean great weapons and halberds? That would be awesome!
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Hm you've put doubt in my mind now, so apologies if I'm wrong and will edit. Saw it discussed on a Facebook post I've lost now and some people seemed to think the description (minus the Finecast scare) meant that:
This kit contains sixteen Finecast Chaos Warriors, armed with Chaos hand weapons, halberds or greatblades. Supplied with sixteen Citadel 32mm Round bases.
Edit: the more I look at it, I think the people of FB and I jumped to conclusions. My bad.

That's exactly what the product description says, yes.
It's not unbelievable that they package the Finecast parts in. The Kaptin Badrukk and Vulcha Boyz boxes for Orks last year both included Finecast components(Badrukk and Ammo Runts for Badrukk's Flash Gitz boxed set and Zagstruk for the Vulcha Boyz box) so there is precedent.
