These cliffs look great and that ruin is really coming along. I especially like the way you've made the cliffs actually look like cliffs instead of painted styrofoam, which so often the case with this particular type of terrain. Your stuff is very inspirational; I appreciate a builder who consistently goes the extra mile for quality.

Love those cliffs, very natural looking. Your block molds are pretty sweet mixed in there too!

Thanks Man, I do try. Woodland scenics has some lovely rock face molds that I've used here. I'll be making myself some more custom ones once the weather gets better (the source rock is currently entombed in a snowbank...)

Looking good! Just make sure you've got a fire extinguisher handy if you're using a dust collection system.

In the next week or so I will be beginning construction of two specific Scenario tables for 40k.

"Siege of Port J35" and "last stand of the Prandium 51st"

These tables will be at Captain con 2014 (link to Dakka thread here

I would gladly take sugesstions on special rules and objectives for the scenario tables.

Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?

Affton, MO. USA

If the port has a huge crane(could also do forklifts), then whoever controls it should be able to swing on of the objectives around/away from the enemy, or be an objective in itself as its control will be vital to enabling re supply efforts/ cutting enemy re supply. Ou could also make multiple piles of crates/containers which have a number under the base. Each game the numbers match a if fervent chart, but some are more valuable point wise than others. Players don't know which to grab in the thick of the fight, hey might get the weapons stash, or they might get the plasma tvs(which are outdated by imperial standards).

Just got this PM from Cmdr Cain he painted up some of my bases and here's how they came out.

Commander Cain wrote:Oh boy, I painted these beauties of a base ages ago and completely forgot about them instantly after!

Anyway, after a bit of cleanup they turned out really well but I'll just let the images speak for themselves...

Progress on the Build for the Con (http://captaincon.com), I've gotten all 28 4ft by 4ft table toppers blacked out on one side (for use as Xwing or other "space" game tabletops. Starfields will be added later.

Five table toppers have had sand added to texture one side. so Basic stuff aproximately 50% complete.

Scenario tables are still at 0.
