Has GW released non-plastic terrain in the last 10-15 years?

Thought the wall of matyrs stuff wasn't plastic. Is it? Cause then I'm doubly boned.....Man, I need to stop reading dakka while I'm away for work and making almost twice my normal rate.....

Wall of Martyrs - Imperial Defence Line

Key to any fortification, the Imperial Defence Line allows troops protection against the oncoming hordes.

The Imperial Defence Line can be combined with the Wall of Martyrs scenery range including the Imperial Bunker, and the Imperial Defence Emplacement. The only limit to how big your Wall of Martyrs set can be is your imagination (and probably the size of your gaming table).

This plastic kit contains 14 components and comes supplied unpainted and requires assembly - we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Paints.

The necron gak is quality, I'm not as keen on the LOB though, he proper looks like a kids toy to me, like an Autobot if it was broken and welded back together by a team of drug addled gothic fabricators.

They had to, to make up for the ridiculousness of the Khornemower. And, Flayed ones aside, there are really no bad models in the Necron range, (if you ask me). Good to see that they kept that up.

I agree entirely on all points. The mower sucks, the flayed ones are awful, and the necrons have gone right up to being one of the best looking armies you can get.

I might even break my one army rule......

it's a C'tan for sure. I think it's a "Transcendent Shard"

Hard to make out though.

It looks like it can be used as part of the vehicle, then perhaps it can be unleashed on it's own?

I wonder if the necron vault closes with the C'tan inside. If so, I'd love to motorize that model so it opens and closes at the push of a button.

I love the concept of the Tesseract Vault, love the C'tan shard in the middle, but I think the walls on the outside just don't work. At all.

I expect they're there to make it a dual kit (as in, the closed form is a different super-heavy), but the way it ends up looking to me is that it looks even more like a kid's toy than the Lord of Battle. The more I look at the tiny wall profiles and the spindly struts that hold them up, the more I think this kit should be mounted on a pistol grip with a spring-loaded trigger that when pulled, makes the walls pop open and spins them around. WHEEEEEE!!!!!!!

It's not bad, it's just so much less than it could have been. Once again, I think GW's models have been undermined by the corporate pressure to make them more profitable.

I think what would have looked better would have been keeping the inner core as is, but then setting around it rings like the arcing struts on the Necron Sentry pylon. Perhaps have Canoptec Spyders clinging to the arcs engaged in repair and maintenance.

Masters of the Chapter was $35 for 4 models in 2007, the new Masters models cost $89 for all 4 just six years later. It's outrageous and blatant gouging trying to boost the profit margin so high on those models when they could have done a box set of all 4 new models for a reasonable price.

The older Masters of the Chapter set is STILL $33 for four.

Or, they just gave us a third model of a C'Tan shard, usable by those who build the Vault in its closed configuration.

I'm wondering if the original sculptor meant them to be tentacles, or energy flares...

To be fair if its a C'tan and not and original Necrntyr then I prefer this to the finecost versions although that would be so awesome if that was the original form of a Necron IMHO..

I'm thinking energy flares. I'm also thinking that it might look better if the central body portion were painted either a couple shades lighter, or darker, than the flares. Get some thing to differentiate between the body and the flares/arcing.

I still find the Khornedozer stupid, he still can't reach the floor with his cc weapon.

Not sure about Dr. Manhattan and the open and almost empty monolith box, that doesn't make sense to me. Good thing that it costs more than I am willing to pay for such a model. For that price I can get better things from Forge World.

The open Vault has a crapton of detailing on the inside walls, and the C'Tan containment bits for Dr. Manhattankhamen look pretty good, too.

Gonna be a pup's mother to transport the open configuration, though.

The Necron Money Vault is cool, but I'm not too sure if I like it enough to drop the $160 for it. I was hoping these models would be at or below $150 at the most.

The Khorne Lord Of Profits appears to have at least two options for both arms, the head and the belly gun, so I'm probably going to get one of those in spite of the cost, Chaos being my favorite collection. I'll also likely be looking for a discount on that one.

How long before we get our first $200-$250 model from GW? They are rapidly approaching their Forge World prices and in some cases in the past couple years FW models have already proven to be as or more economical.

I'm curious to know how the new terrain kits link up / fit with the Wall of Martyrs? They look a lot bigger, like they may dwarf the other pieces by a good bit.
