I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.
Check it out, you just might like it.

The bloody handprint... amazing. Really moody and grim, there's a very real sense of 'storm' about them, very evocative.

Absolutely phenomenal work on those Stormcast Eternals, I love the ethereal scheme you have combined with the red that really sets them off.

Cheers all. I have to admit I'm at a loose end now, I might try the Khorne models, but I think Julian Bayliss has pretty much taken chaos models as far as they can go: http://www.exprofundis.com/julian-bayliss/

Not sure I really have anything new to add to that. Wood Elves are still on hold until I get a bit more info about these aelfs.

And how!

Eternals look grand Bruticus, and I agree with you that their background is decidedly grim, for what seems at face value like this bright shiny new age of high fantasy.

FWIW, I'm all for more eeeevil tree spirits. Stumbled on your dryad wallpaper yesterday, may give it a home on my laptop

Awesome! They really look like Doctor Who villains for some reason more sci-fi than fantasy.

Hopefully not like rubber monster suits! But actually I think the Weeping Angels were an inspiration, living statues.

I do think Age of Sigmar is more sci-fi than fantasy in some regards - it seems very much a space opera, there could well be crashed space ships or aliens around the next corner. I think that is one of the reasons I like it.

The background and some of the concepts are pretty dark and could easily be explored in a darker way. I think the fact AoS all looks so bright and shiny is just due to the fact that we are mainly seeing the studio paint jobs (which are always far too cheery for my tastes) and the fiction hasn't been particularly interesting yet.

Those Stormcast are simply stunning. There's probably not a lot that I can say that hasn't already been said. I particularly like the headswap on the Lord-Relictor (? still not sure on the names) is much better than the default head.

I like your summary of your feelings on AoS too.

I had briefly wondered how this new change would effect your established/emerging setting. If anything it seems like these changes allow your settings to become more fleshed out or become even greater than they were previously having been constrained by the limits of the Old World. It seems like the Black Sloth Hell is something that could have coalesced as the Old World was destroyed.

There are some cool tomb kings by Julian up on the site now: http://www.exprofundis.com/let-the-sun-grow-cold-with-horror-tomb-kings/

And I found a photo of the first Inquisitor I ever made, probably 16 years ago or so. Cannibalised quite a few parts of Kurt Hellborg and reduced the resale value of my Battlefleet Gothic if I remember. I actually copied this psy-assault cannon idea on Inquisitor Hawksmoor.

These are some of the coolest Stormcast I have ever seen. Amazing work. I love the marble white and the blood. So much better than the standard metallic colour schemes.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

I have a question that I could use some help with. I have a whole bunch of resin parts that have quite a lot of mold release on them.

I know the usual way is hot soapy water and scrub with a toothbrush, but I'm really trying to avoid the scrubbing if I can help it, it would take ages. This isn't delicate resin, it's big chunky stuff with no detail, but there is a lot of it.

I was thinking a bathtub full of some chemical, leave them overnight, something along those lines. Has anyone tried this? My best guess would be soapy water + ammonia but I am worried about the fumes. Or maybe isopropyl alcohol? Simple Green?

I would definitely use Simple Green. The best way would be to put your resin into a Sonicare cleaner and let it go for like three hours, but if you're thinking of putting them all in a bath tub, odds are you have more resin than a Sonicare will hold. Still, Simple Green over night, and when you take them out of the cleaner, blast them real good with a shower head or something to knock off all the soap and mold release residue.

Alas I can't get simple green it seems. And there is way too much for the sonic cleaner, I do have one, they are great.

I was thinking a sodium hydroxide based oven degreaser, leave it in that to soak overnight. I think it would be good for my drains too... But I am not sure if it is harmful to either resin, myself or the environment!

A strong degreaser would work i would figure like dawn.

If you can get it Purple power form Auto zone or car places should work well.

Its never hurt any of my resin items.

edit: Are you sure its not just a VERY smooth cast?

Dettol works just the same as simple green.

I don't like dettol, it stinks and gets sticky. I was thinking of using some sodium hydroxide in a bath of water, it's the main ingredient of purple power and fairy power spray I think, and seems to be in most oven degreasers.

I really can't be scrubbing, so just want to soak the resin and be done. It has quite a lot of stubborn mold release and I need it to be tough as it will take a bit of a battering. Another option might be to spray it all with varnish before undercoating, to improve adhesion, but I'm not sure that will work.

I need a scientist, all getting a bit breaking bad.
