You don't drop in for a few days, and the next thing you know, there's paint, awesome Necromunda buildings... And girders, let's not forget the girders!

Great work as always, love the style of your building, they'd fit nicely into the old Necromunda book!

It is an oath we honour. shaso - Thanks! Indeed I do. Well, we get those installed in a basic configuration, then we get another set and let the meks loose on that set.

TaWaaagh - Cheers! It's all about chains, cables and broken girders for adding a bit of 'life' to something

Gits - Thanks man, as above - final details add a lot to pieces like this.

Selvaggio - Glad we're all digging the chains here

ldd - Well, thank you kind sir. Freakangels and Hellboy are the only series there - Captain Swift was a mini-series - I picked up the tpb. Freakangels is excellent stuff - but then again it is Warren Ellis

vik - bugger, forgot them this time - don't worry, I'll get some mini's up with da comix soon.
Confusing terrain is fun I think Probably suits inquisimunda better these days, not sure how current rules run. Back in the day we were all for multi-level boards, or boards that were swamps with walkways etc.

PDH - I know *sigh*

Bbm - Welcome back. It is

TR - It'll keep crying out for a while longer

CK - Thanks man! Does paint on buildings count? Cool It doesn't seem the same to me. Except for it never quite getting finished bit..that's still the same.

Llamahead - Cheers guy!

Added a door and started on plating to the building that has a walkway roof.

The door-post pipe will allow some bits to be added, as will the pipe on the wall.

So been tinkering a bit with the 'bridge'. Think I might forgoe the chain-suspended lower level. It's a cool idea, and I do want to do it, just not sure about whether I want it here. I'd want the lower level extending past the sides of the other layers, so it could connect up with other pieces. But that would limit the other levels to being used lengthways only as connectors, I'd rather be able to use it in a variety of ways. (I know, I know...I won't actually be using it at all...but if we go too far down that road we end up asking why I'm building an army at all ).

I'll leave it off for now, but I'l look at it again later, as it would look cool on a multi-level piece I think.

Couple of nasty glue blobs there - good job it's a rusty old piece of orky scavenging hey? Those top pieces have magnets in them for adding a further walkway/crow's nest - I'll probably add another connector rod piece to stabilise anything other than a walkway.

That outlet pipe back on the roof-walk building - that just happens to be the same height as the pipe back on the first outpost piece.

That's a sure-fire chance at some interesting walkway shenanigans

Right off to blast a few raiders out in the desert - just started in on New Vegas

Edited for neil sneaking in and passing compliments whilst my back was turned

Cheers mate, good to see you. Shame about the green plastic cutting mat flooring hmm? I'll have to paint a big sheet of tread-plate up for photo-taking

vik - Think of it as research - post-apocalyptic wasteground and all that - plenty to look at and be inspired by.

Plus...there's rivets

I've been expecting curtain comments since whenever I first caught one in a pic - surprised it's taken this long They're the curtains that came with the place - think how many sheets of plasticard replacing curtains for various windows and doors represents I did get rid of the chairs that were done in the same material though

bigfish - I haven't played since the days when every model in an army would have different equipment, but yeah - it's definitely being built with the meter turned to the 'cool' side of 'practical'

Nice, I was first thinking the long pipe protected the Orky string-n-can comms set so it wouldn't get cut so easily.

I really wish I had the time to build like this but don't ……. just have to admire yours I guess then

Will have a look at those comics Freakangels soundings fascinating, theres a comic store near us will have a look in there

Any way cant wait to see a splash of paint on the new sections, and no more of those curtains

vik - No excuse, just stating the facts No, the place is mine - houseboats around here tend to come semi-finished, there were some wicker chairs covered in the same material, but I gave those to the folks for their summer-house, my work-desk was made from the bed in the master bedroom. I'll replace the curtains at some point, but for now I can think of a multitude of better ways to spend my hard-earned

See, you've been shown Rivet Town, it's legitimate research material

shaso - Priceless idea - I'll try and incorporate that somewhere, sometime

ldd - Cheers! The pipe was intended, I did suggest the idea back when I was building the first outpost piece. I just like to have meaningless things that can be used in a variety of meaningless ways, or turned into other meaningless things Did anyone else have those Battlestar Galactica vehicles (original series) that came apart? The Viper nose was used on the Scarab land vehicle. And to be fair I think it was just those two toys that had interchangeable parts, don't recall the Cylon raider coming apart - but I still had a lot of fun trying to build strange vehicles.

neil -

vik - sit down, make yourself at home, help yourself to those fried squig-eyes

ldd - What? He was just warning me about the large pipe monkey that was swinging around on the pipes above my head. I appreciate the warning, those pipe monkeys can get nasty after a few hours of swinging

Not sure that I've done anything model-wise in the last week, bit of New Vegas, plenty of work. End of year stock-take - which is a real doozy with our current systems. After 21 hours at work I had about three hours in a hotel room watching The Professionals and Quantum Leap before heading back for another 8-9 hours.
Yep, I'm wide awake and full of energy right now. Raring to go. Well up for it.

Not at all feeling like some bugger's sandpapered my eyeballs and battered me with a rubber cosh, oh no.

I suspect there won't be any progress tonight either, as even if I don't crash in the next hour, I don't think sharp cutting objects and various adhesives would be good to play with right now

However I will endeavour to get something done for a Sunday update. Or maybe just sleep some.

i think the major issue with stock take is that you gotta have stock that is easy to count... whats with art galleries? one picture, two pictures...

yep sounds right - If they tried to do a stock take in my work they would have problems - our low staffing levels have lead to the stock stacking up to the point where all available space is piled two meters high with boxes. One has to walk sideways like a crab to get to the stairs on some days. Its actually quite shocking and makes me fear for the breakdown of western civilization. I imagine monkey works in a much more organized environment...

weety - Yep, thankfully this should be the last time we have to do the entire stock in one hit though...thank Gork. Yeah, dead people are easy to count.

ldd - But bodies are large, easily spotted, and not so easy to lose.

weety - Very much so

ldd - Quiet farts by the time they're in a morgue though

vik - How easy or how many of them you've got This part involved 24000 products, each typically having between 5 and several thousand pieces

weety - No end of financial year stock-take? In retail? Blimey I wouldn't say MUCH more organised, I'm the stock manager after all

chipping loos very good... tho i have seen tuts on that i still would love to see a more in depth (haha...for the 3D aspect of the matter here^^) look into how you do the chipping... is it "just" two colors or is there more to it? the tough part for me would be to know where to put the highlights... well that is always the toughy for me as i for now avoid this matter like vampires avoid holy water...

cheers, vik
