Some more work on the IK. Got the reds shaded and highlighted. Started on the shoulders and leg Plates ( just managed to get the base colors on). I'm hoping to get to the Carapace, Helmet an smaller plates done this weekend then on to the Carapace mounted ML and Basing.





The rest of you stop painting and spend some time with your Valentine.

Those reds are great - very deep and vibrant. The metal looks good, with the blend of colours too.

Is the whole thing painted by brush? Nice to see some brush painting rather than all done by spray, if so.

I think he looks scarier without a head.

Yeah all by brush. Lots of thin layers. I'll probably break down and do the carapace with the AB as its such a large surface.

Yeah a very robotic look. Still She's gonna be traditional. Now I have to come up with an appropriate basing scheme. Can't remember how he based his SOB's

Molpadia was an Amazon who fought for Orithia. Her name means, "Death Song." I'll however spell it out in ancient greek so it looks cooler.

Knight looks like its coming along nicely SL. Really like the pose too. Can't wait to see if finished up. I've got one built up at the moment too waiting for paint...hoping to get some inspiration from seeing yours finished.

The body isn't set yet. I'm waiting on two factors.. What I do with the base and if I want the upper and lower halves to be able to swivel. I have to decide soon.

Progress on the IK Molpadia. The Pic’s are a bit on the pinkish side, More true red IRL.



I’ve got the shield to do, the Hvy stubber and the Missile pod for major stuff. Some obvious touch up and some details to do, though I might jump into the base first.

I really like the trim on the armor of the Knight. He is coming along quite nicely!

Looking VERY sharp, SL. I'm really liking the equal mix of the colors..

Like WM linked, I think some certain fingernail decals could really add punch to the design (the mini in that post is just WOW).

Alternatively you can try your hand at making decals yourself- though thats really only good for black ones, as white decal paper is a fair bit more difficult to work with.
If you need letters and numbers I can definitely recommend model RR sources. THey usually have tons of neat decals and dry transfers.

Suppose its all on what you want in the final product!


As far as Daemonettes... I think its doable. The stock pose of the kit might give you some trouble with standing it on stuff, but Im sure you can manage it.
What other sort of things are you considering for the base? Rocks and whatnot, i mean.

Ramos.. Not making any myself. I'll try some hand painted stuff. Since this is a SOB add on I want it to be more strict. Did like the scribbles Knightly did on his. I can add some ( numerously tasteful ) Purity seals or books. Maybe stepping on a Justin Beiber poster. You know religious stuff like that!

I like the base of the Baroque knight. It'll have to have a bit more lick of Chaos on it though. Hellooo SOB!

I'll take some pics using a real camera when complete so you can see the true colors.

I have a fleur de lys punch cutter, I could cut you some 1" long styrene flyers for it?

I mean, you don't have to go as heavy or as flowery, but nail decals could be worth checking out.

That ruined bit on the base is from the Honored Imperium set with the statue and Aquilla, if you didn't already know.

Just love the way that turned out SL. Colorful and intimidating all in one go.

Wow apparently I'm not up to pop culture standards on the art of Nails! people go all out. And I thought I spend too much on Minis!
Looking at different sites there are alot of designs. Most of them too cute and not Grim dark enough. Though I did like the barbwire look. Next time my wife goes to the " Sallys beauty" store I might ( might ) go in. Maybe!

I haven't had a chance to look. Weekend was a madhouse for me.

More progress on the IK. Pic with camera this time so the color is more accurate. First the Base WIP
I went with a concrete look. I wanted to have the Knight look like it stepping over a wall. I have some dead cultist that I'll be adding as well as some more rubble.

Front.. . Still need to do the shield. Having trouble finding the ML parts I've been holding on to. Hopefully I'll find them this weekend.

Wow, very nicely done SL. Excellent use of cork sheet. Been meaning to try something like that myself.

The wall Idea is pretty cool. kind of looks like he knocked over a bit of the wall wile stepping over it.

Thanks.. Some more to do . The cultist will be painted Alpha Legion aligned so they tie back to me. The arms, shoulders and carapace are not glued in place yet, as I'm still doing detail work.
Also the body and legs are pinned so they can rotate yet not come apart.

If I can find my ML parts, I'll magnetize them so he can add the AA guns to it in the future

Any suggestions on what else I should add to the base? Besides the 2 cultists.

I have a slight suggestion. It is hard to tell with the pictures, but the icon painted on the base seems to be very similar to the red on the knight. Unless that is intentional I would recommend changing the color or at least the shade to something different. Otherwise I think it looks great.

It is the same color. Partially due to it was the red I was working with and Partially cause its the closest blood looking color. I might darken it up. Thanks for the suggestion.

Superb knight, nice and clean and clear. I can never decide, I have seen dirty knights and crispy knights and they all look good. I am ashamed to say I think GW have made a cracking model here, the more I see of them the more there is to love, and this is another brilliant example.

Only small point, have I got it straight, this is to go with a Sisters army? Shouldn't it have Moobs then?

I don't mean to nit pick here but I found it distracting that the bodies are still clinging onto their weapons. Nice update to the chaos red symbol thing though, much better.
