Weety - Thank you. Gnarly - that's a good word, works for me. You're spot on about is having the personality of a dog, I also like the idea that it has a dog brain.

Modhail - Cheers.

Dubovac - Any reply on dakka is nice and repetition of positive words always works for me.

The head on the merc is from the Empire Hand Gunners. The bit over the left ear is from the SM Scouts.

Thanks

That Skitarii squad leader is sick.

The Merc is also brilliant. The chest plate and gun are probably my favourite parts.

More Skitarii planned?

Hey MoD - Cheers. I have a full 10 skitarii planned. They will make for great Inq28 NPC's. I also have a very small Astra Militarum army planned and the Mercs and Skitarii will make for excellent veteran squads. But as will all good things it will take time.

I had wanted to buy some Tech Thralls with Mitra Locks since they came out but they were a bit expensive....well when FW dropped the price I just had to pick some up.

Very nice!

Love the gun-dog, super little guy

Great job on the armour for the merc, and beautiful weapon work as usual.

Also loving the Skitarii gun, and the figure in general. Excited to hear you have plans for a full squad - although, as always, it makes me sad to know my plans for similar won't match your actualities

Yeah the Ad-Mech stuff is a bit more reasonable now. Hopefully the rumours of plastic Ad-Mech come true.

I keep meaning to ask if you use the tentacle maker tool and if so which one and where did you get it?

Cheers.

That Skitarii leader is fantastic! When I get home I'm going to be chopping up my Thrall's to look something like that. Seriously awesome work.

monkeytroll - He's a cutie. Hmmmm reminds me I still owe Scarper a scavvy dog. You doing a Tech Thrall squad too....ace.

MoD - I'd be interested to see if those Ad-Mech rumours are true....I hope they are. More conversion fodder for the win!

Neil - I've been saving that lovely Servitor head for ages. Glad it came together. I'm thinking of making a tech priest to lead the unit from one of those new FW guardian automata.

migooo - Go right ahead...though it's really Mikko's idea.

Commander Cain - Cheers. I look forward to seeing what you do with yours.

My friend Henry over at Four go to war! is having a raffle to raise money for the Alzheimers society, due to the recent death of Terry Pratchett. Originally the prize for this raffle were some of Henry's models featured in Blanchitsu. I am also adding one of mine to the pot. But the major prize is now an original John Blanche illustration.

So check out the Four go to war! blog and please give generously on the Just Giving page "Models for Terry". .

I have only ever read one Terry Pratchett book and that was Good Omens; and I read that book because of Neil Gaiman. I thoroughly enjoyed Good Omens but I've never bothered to read anything else by Pratchett. I never really thought much about him until my Grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. So over the last few years Terry Pratchett has has been inspiring with the way he dealt with the illness and his stand on euthanasia.

Alzheimer's Support is something very important so I'd also like to raffle off one of my models featured in Blanchitsu. To stick with Henry's Mechanicus theme I've decided on a Mechanicus Scrap Dealer made specifically for last summer's game with Fulgrim, Johan, John B, Migsula, Neil and Tears of Envy .

Now, perhaps a little late, I am going to read The Colour of Magic.

Thanks

So I managed to finish my Iron Sleet: Invitational miniatures. Better picture quality on Iron Sleet btw.

Please remember the charity raffle is still ongoing, at least for another few days. Currently it is on £1,294.83 and 97 donations... getting to at least 100 donations would be amazing!

BTW I have tried reading The Colour of Magic and it wasn't for me - but never mind I gave the book to a charity shop.

The iron sleet miniatures look great, you have just inspired me to swap the head on one of mine, the guy with the bionic arm. Love the bolt gun on legs, it's inspired, kind of reminds me of the scutters on red dwarf (not so much visually but in character, I can see it being a little backward, mentally)

A scribe for my Ordo Malleus Warband

So I picked up a cheap LOTR Wormtongue, when I was in Portsmouth at Easter, to make into scribe to join my Ordo Malleus warband. Originally I only intended to have him on his own but the pose is screaming out for him to be reading something. So I attached a spare scribe, from Inquisitor Rex, to the base too. This little chap seems to be holding the Inquisitor's badge of office. So for Inq game play its not ideal having them both on the same base....but the modelling has to come first.

I'm not 100% on the hammer, I'm sure the weight of the head would pull it over. What do you guys think...stay or go?

Cant go wrong with stuff like this, looks great.

I agree the hammers head looks too heavy for him to be holding it so lightly. Maybe some sort of staff with an imperial eagle?

maybe switch the hammerhead with something that gives of a light source for the scribe to read by

Got bored with the scribe....for the time being. I had a crappy day at work so decided I needed some quiet time and something easy....

The merc I made for the Iron Sleet Invitational just didn't work for me and didn't feel right.

So I stripped him in detol and did a headswap on a headswap, removed a number of tubes and gave him some more equipment. Now he feels right and I'm looking forward to painting him.
