More progress tonight on the arms and legs with appropriate seasonal viewing material on the TV, but still no pics, sorry.

Sounds like you need a painting apron to catch falling bits. I have that same problem with the pieces disappearing, only to find other bits that I lost a year ago. I think it's Tzeentches plan hoping that we are too tired and will just glue the arm we find onto the neck joint of the head we just dropped.

Your last hint... an iconic image from my favorite holiday.

Spoiler:

And... my version!

Spoiler:

I plan on having him stomping through a pumpkin patch and trying to paint him in a generally Frankenstein's Monster kind-of-way. I'll also have a back-mounted cyclone missile launcher that can be added or removed (on pins). I'll also have to file off all the gravity-defying purity seals on the right shoulder.

Hope it was worth the wait.

Yeah, once I'd decided to fit the head it was all or nothing. Have a bit of tidying up with green stuff around the neck area, but that shouldn't be too tough. I really don't like the look of the lower back area & will be actively looking for something to modify it or cover it up.

LOL! Thanks Anpu & gang.

It makes me smile... that's about the best thing I can say about any mini. Still needs a bit of tidying up, but the basic build worked out just about as I'd hoped. The new head makes it look more "monstrous" and the pose is comical as well as true to type. Very excited about getting the build sorted so I can begin painting him... which should have it's own unique set of challenges.

The Oct. thread is not up yet, as we still have a few days to wrap up September.

The vote thread:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/664601.page

What we are up to now:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/662389.page

Once the new thread goes up all you need to do is post your start (unpainted) pic in it to enter. And then finish in the month. That’s the hard part.

My wife wants me to do a monster army too. I suppose it could be unbound... but I'd have to do some things as units.

Nah, for the invisible man you'd need something cast in clear resin . There were a few for cloaked predator miniatures like that, and Wehrkind is actually able to cast in clear resin - if it ever does come up as a real need.

It's funny because this build reminds me a lot of your orks - I almost expect to see a grot coming out of the top hatch!

For monster mash armies, a dread mob might be a good fit, there's some awesome bat reps here:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/664622.page

I've tried running monster heavy with my nids but unfortunately it's just a shooting gallery and they can't make it across the field...

Well, you guys and my WIFE talked me into it... For the next month I'll be putting my other projects aside and doing an unbound Monster Mash army... just for the heck of it. I am open to any and all suggestions... but the monsters should be pretty significant (i.e. no odd critters from some comic book or manga series). Based on what I've heard already... here's what I can come up with.

(All save the contemptor are negotiable by-the-way. If you have another idea for one of the monsters below... please throw it out there!)

Frankenstein's Monster - contemptor dread
Wolf Man - space wolf lone wolf (I need a pair of wolf-like bipedal legs... any of you Hordes guys have anything like that laying around?).
Mummy - necron flayed one
Dracula - sanguinor (I'm thinking of using an old mephiston for this because of the cool armor... if I can get it), what's a sanguinor?
Zombie Horde - well... zombies, gotta have some cheap troops
Godzilla - I'm actually thinking about getting an appropriately sized Godzilla toy and orking the living crap out of him & using him as a squiggoth
Invisible Man - clear mini (possible), but played as what? Perhaps an assassin of some sort?
Creature from the Black Lagoon - Nid lictor??

So, I'm up for suggestions for...
A) monsters
B) modeling suggestions and
C) what they will be fielded as (i.e. rules)

Again, this will be an unbound list and frankly... I don't care in the slightest how it plays (though I'm not against using good units). This is all about the rule of cool.

Welcome to Octoberfest... Gitsplitta style.

Admittedly, I don't know much about the Blood Angels, but I found this:

As far as the Invisible Man... I gave you that idea too.
I recommend using it as counts-as-Vindicare.
