Here's a start on my Altansar Eldar - main theme is going to be black and purple, but the guardian squad is getting a splash of red too. The heavy weapon platform is magnetised for weapon-swappage
The pictures are poorly taken and a bit gigantic, sorry about that...
Got to practice my icon-painting at bit before I go splodging details on these...

The Falcon on that previous Falcon is just too cool. The Altansar guys look so shiney they might have stepped out of the flash gordon movie. kudos on both accounts.

@Troo: Your avatar is great! Som really nice blending. The full silver sword doesn't look right to me, maybe paint the hilt gold and the handle black.
Thanks. Yeah, his sword is also unpainted. I'm dithering about whether to do it blue-white, or the more traditional orange-red. I may have to go for the latter, as the Wailing Doom is a well-defined weapon even if I've tweaked other aspects of his colour scheme to fit my army.
@Doggles: I'm sold on the red-purple paint job. Excellent blending, too!

@Guitardian - LOL about the Flash Gordon comment - their armour does look a bit like the little red guys in the "football" scene.

Having one for each aspect would be amazing, and with Shining Spears I am struggling to work out how you would build an extra large jetbike. A Banshee WL would be interesting. There are loads of great models here!

Lol, that'd be a huge fricking jetbike. He'd have to ride on a waveserpent converted to look like a vyper or something. I've seen a banshee wraithlord on coolminiornot I believe. Was a really cool conversion, used a lot of greenstuff for the hair.

This is the best Avatar I have ever seen. Im not a fan of the avatar and have never really seen a mini painted well enough for this character.. until now. Plus, its not the repetitive red colours either which is a bonus!

That avatar looks fantastic, looks kind of like his inner fire has gone out and he's cooling back to regular rather than molten metal.

Its pretty darn big. Maybe twice the height? I think most people get it as a collector piece rather then for their army.

Yeah, you can see a FW Avatar that looks quite decent in Warhammer World, along with two spectacular FW Revenant Titans in the Warhammer World store in a display cabinet. Automatically Appended Next Post: I also agree, that large avatar is definitely a collector's model, cause that base is just huge, and resin isn't that durable. Still, that is an epic (not the game! lol) model.

Nice work there Durandal, the hair on the GW model makes the guy look like a Banshee Fire Dragon, so it's nice to see a change. In terms of modelling, it looks better too. A Wraithlord head would look great too imo, having an Avatar WL, rather than a Swooping Hawks WL or some other neat conversion. Also great work on those Biel-Tan WG, the colours look very striking. Automatically Appended Next Post: rather than a Swooping Hawks WL
Not to say that this conversion was bad at all, just if you were wondering.

More on my WIP WL:
I've just done some more work on the base, covering it in water effects, adding and painting green stuff on the original wraithbone section, and of course, adding a dead, burned CSM.
as i said before like troo, i'm a real perfectionist, so i'm going to try my hand at this for a finishing touch...
http://theastronomican.blogspot.com/2008/09/painting-power-weapons.html
any other ideas would be brilliant, i've got until August until i'm entering this for a competition along with my FD unit (which i'll show to you peoples sometime soon) at my LGS.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money
"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

I'll post some of mine as well the terrain is all done, but _all_ of the tanks are still WIP, simply because I'm a lazy bum who can't focus enough to focus one thing, but instead jumps from tank to tank to tank.... one day, one day soon....
all of the terrain, plus some stuff that is still planned, will come together for a big scenic eldar-table
