Heh, that's awesome. Look at that it's actually a metal reaper mini too.

Too bad I have so many dollars of bones 2 coming this way.

Heh, if they hadn't bumped their shipping, I'd be all over that. I just bought about $50 worth of their figs from Miniaturemarket with some other stuff.

As other's mentioned there are two (2!) October promotions, the limited edition chibi halloween figures and the bonus pakc of paints for orders over $40 which finally got me to place my long-pending order.

There's also some new previews!

http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Previews

The big new line is Wild West Wizard of Oz, sort of a steam punk take on the classic tales.

It's been a few years since I last saw the movie but as I recall these are the Wicked Witch's iconic evil servants. I believe they're some sort of winged dire sloth.

It's been a few years since I last read the books but as I recall this is the Wicked White Witch of the North who cast a spell on Oz so that it was always winter but never Christmas.

It's been a few years since I last read my copy of Scott Shaw's Oz-Wonderland War but I believe this figure is a take on the classic heroine Hermione of House Griffendor.

It's been a few years since I last checked the Wikipedia page but I believe this is the Tin Woodsman who in the final scene of the novel is transformed by the Green Fairy into a real boy.

It's been a few years since I last watched my Oz DVDs but I think this is a steampunk take on the Cowardly Lion who in the iconic final scene is reviled by the Wizard as the true king of Gondor.

It's been a few years since I last checked out Judge Dredd Oz but as far as I can figure this is the Scarecrow who, along with the rest of the Family of Blood is ultimately imprisoned by the Doctor in a mirror. In fact all mirrors.

We also have this big fellow

The Beast of Lepidstad who is an obvious reference to the famous (and public domain) gothic horror novel the Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde.

There's also some good close ups of the chibis if you're thinking about them.

Just the thing to give your End Times armies that extra bit of personality!

And a Halloween tree to go with them,

That tree is awesome.

It looks maniacally happy which, in turn, makes me happy, too.

Scarecrow looks suitably horrific for me to use him in the set of movie monster miniatures I'm trying to assemble.

Looks like Reaper snuck out a few releases among the Halloween figures, I don't remember seeing these in previews so...

First we have Elizabeth the female pirate captain (why she only captains female pirates I'll never know)

She's a fine figure and you can tell she's the captain because of her unmistakable, prominent, enormous boo...

boo...

boots!

Yes her boots, everyone knows you can judge a pirate wench by the size of her boots.

That's what I meant to say all along.

I also can't help but note the price, $8 for a one-piece 28mm mini. Now granted GW would charge $25 but that's hardly a good measure is it? When did metal prices creep up so high? Is she really worth it?

Even with those firm, round... boots.

A nice companion to last month's giant snake is this month's 28mm giant cobra. Don't let the scale limit you though, you can also use it as a 15mm colossal cobra, a 10mm gargantuan cobra and 5mm titanic cobra. Or even as a 54mm large cobra or a 1:1 pigmy cobra. The only limit is your imagination!

Next up is one of those insane models no one ever asked for but once you see it...

A halfling riding a giant bee!

I mean not since the lepracaun riding the owl has there been such an awesome idea.

The best thing is it can also serve as a 1:1 scale sprite riding a large-but-not-outside-the-realm-of-reasonability bee.

Jewel is another unlooked for but welcome addition. A 'steampunk aquanaut' she'd also serve well in Rogue Trader type games as a woman in a grimdark space suit just by trimming the spear gun. Or keep it, I mean spears are still pretty lethal in space no?

We have two sensibly-dressed women in a row, must be a new record!

A female knight, in full plate, with a sensible haircut and useful set of weapons? Is this the Reaper I know and love?

Spoiler:
Ah much better

Finally we have a Dwarf Anti-Paladin

and frankly I agree with him. I mean dwarfs get 60' infravision, ability to detect sloping passages and can multiclass as fighter/thieves and thief/fighters! What do humans get? Nuttin! Except exclusive access to certain prestige classes like the Paladin, and even then we have to share rangers with the Half Elfs.

So y'know what I'm pretty anti-dwarf paladins too!

Man - they didn't make those easy to find. I had just checked Reaper earlier today to see the new releases and they didn't make the front page.

Trying to find the pirate I couldn't locate her with a "female pirate" search - finally had to search for Elizabeth.

Yeah they announced them on Facebook a week or two ago but I didn't see them on the site till now.

And even then they're not on the front page. I guess they have a slow/busy web team or they want to get them in shops first before listing them on their own site.

They're up here:

I almost spit out my coffee. In think this every time I see a 'giant animal' model.

Kirasu: Have we fallen so far that we are excited that GW is giving us the opportunity to spend 58$ for JUST the rules? Surprised it's not "Dataslate: Assault Phase"

AlexHolker: "The power loader is a forklift. The public doesn't complain about a forklift not having frontal armour protecting the crew compartment because the only enemy it is designed to face is the OHSA violation."

AlexHolker: "Allow me to put it this way: Paramount is Skynet, reboots are termination attempts, and your childhood is John Connor."

Thanks for keeping this up Kid Kyoto, I look forward to Reaper releasing new models for a variety of reasons, not least your commentary.

Reaper launches new line of 5mm Kaiju!

http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/animal

They also snuck in a few more previews.

First up we have Christmas Knight and his partner, Christmas Eve

And wow, I just love these two. First up the names, why didn't anyone think of these before? I hope Reaper plans to make a whole line of books, cartoons, comics and games around them.
Second off, how better to celebrate the spirit of giving and the brotherhood of man than with a guy ready to shove 3' of cold Dammascus steel through your guts? And who has a spare sword just in case he needs to take your head off too.
And then I just love the Disney-style paint jobs. Real kudos to Jessica Rich for a great job.

Then there's two lizard men

Nothing screamingly innovative but a solid take on the idea. And another great paintjob.

And finally...

If you'e been looking to play an elderly woman armed with... um... some kind of pinwheel of death thing, well your long wait for a suitable model is over!

As always Reaper has you covered.

Those new lizards look like they'll match in nice with the ones that got produced during the Bones Kickstarter.

I am impressed with those Christmas figures' paint jobs. Christmas Eve especially- love the detailing on her dress with the little leaves falling.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I really like the christmas knight head. i want it separate so I can put the head in various armies. A seperate head with short hair and a reasonably trim beard is pretty hard to find.

That pinwheel chick had her hips broken, right? I mean, her waist is so thin. Just like one of the bombshell babes (the inquisitor) had her entire thoraxic cage removed, and needs her corset to keep her organs in.

I need a damn camera.

She's actually a stick bug in disguise.

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!
