Thanks dude! Your ultras look sick

As for progress, I've done another raptor up and some detail on the dread.

Wish the freehand could have been a tad more crisp, but it was frustrating enough already with the bolts getting in the way. Other than that I thought it was cool, nox means night in latin, but also was how the romans renamed the Greek primoridal goddess of night Nyx. The dread has been pretty godly so I think it's appropriate

Raptor was super cool too, its the first time I painted the older metal versions and they have a ton of character; this guy even came with flayed skin! I made his eyes bleeding ala Bleeding Eyes/Lucoryphus. Original, I know.

Still have to decide how to paint the fire

Woah! That raptor model takes me back - you're totally right, super characteristic and fits the night lords of course. Digging the use of latin on the dread too.

I'd like to rock some of the "nostraman" whos alphabet was made on B&C, but I really need a new detail brush first.

Also did a red version of the newer terror marks, I really like how they just completely change the model

Thanks!

I agree they're awesome, though I do love the current ones too. They're going to be delayed a bit as I do some Terminator bases up for my game tomorrow

Your night lords look epic! Love your work!

The gold shoulder pad is a great way to make your vets stand out, not seen often on NLs, looks fantastic

Not to mention the fact that it explains what they do with all the gold teeth they kick out of peoples faces .

Hahah Thanks

Glad about all the feedback about the pads, though I did darken them a bit to make them more bronze, also did all the faceplates bone coloured as I felt I was losing a lot of the detail

I like the bone facemasks, and the darker bronze color works as well. Really nice job on the helmet crest too.

Yep, both the bone and the slightly darker bronze go well with the blue armour and each other.

Don't take this as being rude (as you so far better than I,) but, the flyer's base is bleak. Which I understand the whole scorched earth concept but, if you have the bits for 1-2 marines you could always have them patrolling the dust beneath your flier. Even walking on a skull or two.

Just a suggestion sir, love that bird and your army as always.

I always appreciate feedback

Its an interesting idea but I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass for a couple of reasons. First is that resin dudes are expensive and I'd rather have them as game models than parts of a base Second is that in game you can move friendly models onto a flyer's base, so its actually best to have no topography on the base to maximize potential space. Third is that its my Xiphon's base from a couple of pages back and that it sits a bit lower on the stand in comparison and it takes away some of the negative space because of that

Its been a while with no updates, mainly because I've been doing commission work and have had little time for my own stuff, but here's what I've managed to sneak in.

Fully built 5 man plasma support squad, I used them in a game last week where they held down the fort from outriders and a flamer support squad so they deserve a paintjob soon.

And because of the upcoming Heresy tournament I'll be co-running (and playing in) in march, more terminators, tho still half assembled/painted currently. Planning on giving them powerfists, but not sure if combi weapons and/or plasma blaster for ranged.

Go for chainfists, no point not going for broke. It's about the same as giving vets meltabombs.

Problem is actually needing chainfists on the models as opposed to melta bombs

Multiple chainfist swings vs single meltabomb swings? Yeah, chainfists. Plus it seems more like the Night Lords' style.

Thats not quite it. Its pfists vs chain fists when I don't have chain fists and they're a bit harder to get

Chainfists still. Just add 'em as you get 'em.

Power fists then, and add the chainsaw blades on later.

Chain fists, for Cataphracti at least, aren't power fists with an under slung chain blade; the hand is quite normal sized. Now that wouldn't necessarily be a problem if I didn't have any Cataphracti chainfists already, but I do and I'm not big on having 2 different things represent 1 weapon on the same model
