That's heartening to hear since the photos already make it look quite beautiful.

Sadly the full comment was "... to US backers". I wonder what will happen for the rest of the world

That's good to hear - I'm now wavering on selling everything off!

So, at this point, do we have even a hint of a tentative date for when the expansions are going to ship too?

I was going to sell off my giant $400 pledge, figuring that people were over-hyped. I was sure this game would be impossible to pull off, and certainly wouldn't achieve a level of playability considering a novice game designer wanted something so elaborate with a million sub-systems...

... and yet here it is, and by all accounts it works, and is beautiful (and smartly designed).

I LOVE being wrong right now, and wish Adam all the best in the world.

What are the promos and small items everyone is talking about?

My problem is it's been 2 years since the last time I put money into this. So I have no idea how much I actually spent...

I'm 50/50 on whether I'll put it up for resale or not. It's stunning but I don't know if I'll ever get to play it. And I was sucked in back in the initial excitement of Kickstarter and not really thinking about actually using the stuff I was getting excited about.

Individual 'pin ups' and 'gifts' of 'single' figures.

Basically all the stuff that wasn't an actual 'game expansion', more or less!

(I think!)

The Adam and Anna figures, probably all the Pinups not included in expansions(such as the Gorm suit), and possibly the t-shirts.

Black Bases and Grey Plastic Forever:My quaint little hobby blog.

40k- The Kumunga Swarm (more)
Count Mortimer’s Private Security Force/Excavation Team (building)
Kabal of the Grieving Widow (less)

Plus other games- miniature and cardboard both.

Man. That's a lot of stuff. I ordered everything including an extra deluxe core game. I hope I also get an extra t-shirt.

Nope. Just a pretty plastic pinup.

Playing a demo got you items though.

Thanks bud, I've sworn off new KD models unless they come with game rules. This will be tricky...

Any further info on how the settlements work or what that looks like.

I was sold on the gameplay but they really didn't have time live to cover that aspect.

I'm curious if a character's Insanity affects the settlement phase- during the demo it wasn't detrimental, but actually functioned as mind armor. He also mentioned when the character in the group before us had it's genitals destroyed, that it could never use Intimacy again. A referral to a part of the settlement phase I'm sure.

First, I love that sentence. Second, I am imagining there is an item called "sack full of genitals" that allows the bearer to control the actions of another model, given certain conditions.

I wouldn't say it's impossible. It was off of a critical hit from the Phoenix at the waist area-something like, "Your genitals are destroyed. Your line, and the line of thousands of your descendants has been severed. You gain the Apathetic aura from the futility of your struggles."

The Apathetic aura prevents a character from using survival points- they can't dodge attacks, dash out of the way, take an extra attack, or encourage another character. They basically lose the will to live.

Don't believe there is. I think expansions are done, too, and they're just being shipped separately at a later date, correct? So 3-8 weeks from whenever that happens. Oct/Nov at the earliest?

Yeah, that's what I understood from that BoW video - sometime (one to two months) AFTER the main box is shipped out - maybe depending upon where you live?

And that pesky boat too, of course.

The plastics for the expansions were done as of the last official update (and most if not all of the printed content approved)

so it was just a question of getting the printing and assembly done (plus of course booking space on a ship or ships depending on whether the expansions are going via his shipping partners or only via Adam in the USA)

I'd be a bit more conservative than Alpharius but I think 2-3 months is plausible)

I was just guessing anyway!

I think the important point is that since the expansions are done/mostly done, we should still get this THIS year, and they should in no way get hit by CNY 2016!

Anyone have a link to the latest Kingdom Death Tracking Chart - the big list of things that are done, almost done, etc.?

The last one I can find is November 2014: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/poots/kingdom-death-monster/posts/1064750

A later update had an email from the factory with shipping container sizes; other than that I can't find anything more recent, though I'm sure I've seen more recent ones somewhere.

"Promos" = 4x Messengers, Candy & Cola, Holiday Nico, Alison-TK, Survivor Kara Black.

Pinups = should be self explanatory. (I'm guessing all ordered pinups will come now, but the Gorm Stealth Suit freebie will come with the expansions)

Core Game + Survivor loot

Huzzah!

Also, about the expansions, I must have missed any little nuggets about them. I didn't think Adam made any mention of them in the interview, I'll go listen harder...

But, as far as we know, all of the plastic has been done since the end of 2014/start of 2015. The printed materials had a few small revisions, which should have been corrected.
Freight shipping territory is what caused the split in shipping.
That was the key that kicked Poots to get the base game out (and allow finances to start coming in, big time).

I'd like official word from the man about expansions.
But if I get my small rewards in the next week or two, I can hold off on an update...

I think we're past the chart at this point. More recent information from Adam has:
- all of the resin production completed,
- all of the plastic production completed,
- the base game boxed, assembled and in transit (Wave 1),
- small items boxed, assembled and in transit (Wave 1+).

That just leaves Expansions to box, assemble and ship (Wave 2), which is the messy stuff.

I'm thinking the Game arrives late September through mid-October, with expansions arriving November-December.
____

Recall that Adam noted he was having to ship several (40') containers worth of product - that's a lot of stuff to move, and it is both larger and heavier than what he had originally planned. The project scale and increased freight costs suggest that he needs to wait for *full* containers before he ships, rather than multiple, smaller containers. If he has a half container of product to Europe, but has another half container worth of product being prepped, that first batch will sit until the container is full. OTOH, if there is a full container worth of Game (only) for the US, then that container goes on the water.

* Clarified "shipped" (which ) to "in transit" (via container ship).

Did they start shipping the main game already? I thought they would send out an e-mail to backers when they did.

Shipped as in on the water in a shipping container, not going out the individual backers

Sorry, I should have been clearer when I wrote "shipped":

At least 1 (40') Cargo Container of the Game is on a ship from China to the USA. That container will arrive in the US for distribution to individual backers. I estimate individuals should start seeing stuff roughly a month from now.

Small items are also in process of making their way from the factory to backers.

Hrm... I suppose Poots has not been married as long as some of us then. Or perhaps much, much longer?
It does seem a little strange that a character who might already have children or grandchildren would take that pose, but oh well.

That "3-8 week windiw" comment I believe is aimed at the estimated delivery of the core game. At least, in context, he is still talking about the core game timeline and factoring in the uncontrollable/unknown of Customs processing. He makes no mention of the expansions shipping directly.
