Shamelessly stolen from Warseer:

Not only does Apocalypse look pretty cool, but good to know they are finding a solution for all of the LatD players (see, they didn't forget about you!)

So is that datasheet official for non-Apocalypse games?

Just for people who don't feel like clicking through, there's a photo of a poster containing the following text:
"Lost and the Damned players worried about their armies with the release of the new chaos codex will like the fact that there is a Datasheet that allows them to field their Mutated hordes once again.  With the datasheet you can field any units from the Imperial Guard as well. The only condition is that you must take at least three units of mutants. This datasheet and many more for all armies in 40K will be available online."

LatD battles on? Great!
Has to take 3 mutant squads? Right on!
Can take whatever from the IG codex? Also sweet!
BUT ... all APOC datasheets being available online? Yessss!

Wonder what's up with GeeDub, this whole C:APOC is making me have some faith in 40k again

Given that these datasheets are specifically mentioned as being for Apocalypse, it's doubtful they'd be legal for normal 40k gaming.  LatD are still boned.

Still at least they addressed the army by giving them a place in the game and not letting the army completely go away...as it is for me...Apocalypse is more fun orientated anyways. I expect I'll be playing lots of APOC over the next several months.

Can anyone explain what a "datasheet" is?  Has there been any examples posted online?

I believe it is a broad surface of paper, possibly with information on it. Hence 'data' but on a 'sheet'.

I may be wrong however.

What's "normal 40k gaming" and what determines what's legal?  It 'may' not be legal for tournaments (we don't know yet), but as far as "normal" gaming, that is whatever you want it to be.

Indeed.

Think old Epic formation cards. It seems as if the datasheet has all the rules for specific formations like the ten Leman Russ box, a Kult of Speed, Space Marine Company, Baneblade or whatever.

That may work if you're the Ayatollah or Kim Jung Il.

For the rest of us 'normal gaming' is what the community as a whole and our opponents define it as.

Agreed. LaTD will be legal for Apocalypse games only using the rules as presented by Games Workshop. They will most likely not be 'tournament-legal' in standard 40K games.

And APOC tournaments would be just that, apocolyptic! No force org, few if any restrictions, massive templates of shooty shooty death ...

I know once APOC hits at my FLGS that's all we're playing on the weekends. Considering we only play megas anyway, it'll just be the same as usual, just SO much more awesome

Have you seen the datasheet or is this speculation?  I agree that they won't be "tournament-legal", but for most gamers out there, that is not "normal gaming."  I'm just wondering what the definition of "normal" gaming is?

The upside to their inclusion in Apoc. is that it lends more credence to the rumor that the second chaos codex (rumored to be called "Agents of Chaos" ) will include 40k rules for them.

Hey,

Just a reminder that LatD isn't a Codex list.
It's an EoT expansion list.
A new Chaos Codex won't change this.
That necessarily means LatD's 'legal' status is unchanged.
"Tourney Legal' qualifications are whatever the organizers say they are.
If they say "No Ultramarines", then Ultramarines are illegal.
It needn't have anything to do with official rules elsewhere.

Problem is half the stuff in LatD references the chaos dex. Not sure it will work to well with the new dex as a reference (the fact that GW has stated its not allowed for GT play not withstanding).

Frickin' Sweet!!!! APOC looks to be the bomb. Although most my armies are at the 1500 to 2000 point level, this sounds cool enough to buy new stuff. Who would have thought, I'd be interested in new GW stuff.

Yeah, this is nothing but some table scraps from GWLatD will be completely dead in the water soon enough, and all signs point to the second Chaos codex being daemons only.   Because all the daemon miniatures sales to WFB and 40K players must mean they really like daemons, and not the power level of Daemonic Legion and daemonbomb armies.
