I still prefer the "loaded with heavy bolters" version, but this is another rock solid tank. Good grab.

I really love the look of this, and it'll make a great bad boy Leman Russ Stand in.

Interestingly there are no experimental rules on the FW website. Perhaps the thinking is that this will be a count as Russ?

However given the Malcadors Super heavy status (ie structure points etc) it maybe released with seperate rules.

I'm definately going to order one for my second Russ in my Krieg Force, its so much more satisfyingly big for a tank compared to the standard Russ chasis. I always found the current plastic Russ way too small for a battle tank, a scout tank maybe but not a main battle tank.

Plus the sponsons on this Malcador actually look good! As opposed to the ancient ones on the plastic based Leman Russ kits. I so wish FW had done an upgrade set for the Russ Sponsons, this was the main reason that I didn't give my Krieg Russ any.

Cool.

I like the machine gun nest version better, but this thing is nice. It'll be a hard decision to see which ones I get.

I'm kind of "Meh" on this one.

1) I don't care for the crewman at all.
2) The sponsons have a significantly limited LOS
3) I would prefer a co- ax(sp) weapon with the battle canon.
4) I would prefer a TL stubber in the hull, unless ofcourse, it's not a stubber at all.
5) Why is the hull stubber larger than the pintle mounted one?

I DO like the turret concept though. 45-90 degree traverse rather than 360. It's different visually and doesn't seem to take away from it's ability to throw lead down range.

Anyone know if you can put Heavy Bolters in the sponsons?

1) remove it, you also get a chaos one, or use the krieg one (as i plan to) or close the hatch.

2) so do most 40k vehicle sponsons, the Russ ones aren't that great either, same with the Macharius or Gorgon.

3) fair point but rules wise co axial weapons often suck. Why would I want to fire my storm bolter at the same target as my vanquisher cannon for example? Great for comedy humour but practical?

4 & 5) its not a stubber its an autocannon. You have the choice of Autocannon or Lascannon hull mounted weapons

And yes it comes with Heavy bolter sponsons as well.

Malcador With Battle Cannon

The new Malcador with Battle Cannon, designed by Daren Parrwood, offers another fantastic option for your Renegade or Imperial Guard forces. The tank features a modified upper hull with an unusual enclosed turret mounted cannon giving the Malcador a very unique and arcane feel compared to more conventionally designed Imperial tanks, and a real flavour of the Imperiums ten-thousand year long history of war. The tanks other armament, modified from the standard Malcador also includes a optional autocannons, lascannons or heavy bolters for the hull and sponson mounts. As a super-heavy tank, the Malcador will prove far more durable in open battle that the smaller Leman Russ, serving as a mobile fortress for your advance. The model is supplied with full weapon options and commander models for both Vraksian Renegade Militia and the Imperial Guard. You can view pictures Here.

We hope to have experimental rules for the Malcador with Battle Cannon on our website soon..

The Malcador with Battle Cannon is available to pre-order Now for release commencing the 3rd of September. Were are also hoping to have a small number with us to sell at Games Day Germany, but this supply will be very limited, so get in early to avoid disappointment!

i do not like it the only reson i would buy it is because of the auto cannon mount (more versitile then a lascannon) or as a leman russ stand in, cause it looks cooler)

with this one you get 1 long range ordence 2 lascannon shots (or 6 heavy bolter shots), 2 autocannon shots... or, you can get 1 shorter but stronger range ordence, 15 heavy bolter shots, 2 las cannon shots (or 6 more heavy bolter shots)

im likeing the odds on the origanile one with 18 - 22 shots insted of 5-9

the origanil one should be called the dakka seage tank of doom

Nice tank. I really like the autocannon, but am disturbed that the commander isn't screaming or gesticulating anywhere near the level we're accustomed to.

does this mean the more he screams or gesticulates, the harder the tank?

Indeed, because frankly the tank shock rule isn't very realistic. I mean, a Baneblade turns on a dime, but a dime the size of a soccer pitch. I'm sure even the most obese guardsman could casually step out of the way of a 40k tank with the engines redlined and the machine spirit whipped bloody. Ergo, a screaming man riding on a 100 ton lump of steel is much more scary than just a 100 ton lump of steel.

Falcons should come with an obligatory pair of screaming eldar commanders. You can add them to the hull and they represent the screaming engines and that holostone-field thing.
