Wow, the Agents of A.C.E. guide is impressive!

Ah, they have fixed the link to by the 7 Seas book. This one is even more spectacular than the A.C.E one!

Evidently I pay enough attention to this thread (I actually noticed it had been updated whilst looking at News & Rumours instead of my own thread's page) to change the header. ...Ah yeah sorry for not paying as much attention with this thread as I aught to, though the same could be said of the other ones I'm curator of as well. Tsk, reminds me that I have to write a scenario up for a game of Fallout on Tuesday ...which totally won't happen at the last moment. Hmn, actually I think I'll just use that military base one I wrote for it, but never had the time to play. See, the laziness is strong with this one.

Any news on the pack of dogs they've teased?

Kind of off-topic, but I'm honestly most excited to see the release of the generic fantasy rules they did for Otherworld miniatures. Apparently they have been finished for quite some time, but Otherworld (understandably) wants to finish fulfilling their last indiegogo before starting another. I really enjoy the crooked dice system and aesthetically I think crooked dice does the best job of all the companies out there with the layout of their rule books. They really look fantastic, and this is coming from a guy who plays games that are literally walls of text and loves them.

@ Barzam

The dogs are penned in for a February release, so I'd expect them any day now actually. I'd recommend the Miniature Mojo dogs too if you're looking for a set.

@ Sabotage!

I was considering making some fantasy miniatures (Skyrim inspired actually) and a dungeon for the Otherworld release actually. However it didn't come so I went for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. instead. =/

Here's a shot from their Facebook page of their latest show board in the works, the Paranormal Investigators HQ. I like them using their new vans as part of the clutter. That and the whole idea of these small, but interesting boards interests me, but I'd hate having to transport the damn things anywhere.

I think its the same guy who made the 7th Voyage temple one, who may well be the one who makes all their boards. If it is the same guy then I suspect he has a thread over on the Lead Adventure or Crooked Dice forums like he did with the temple in case anyone wants more shots.

Poo, makes me sad that I can't attend Salute this year, Crooked Dice always puts out amazing demo boards for their convention games.

The Crooked Dice stand is always my first port of call at Salute for just that reason

Its a pity that the shows they attend up here don't have display games at them. Its a shame that they have only small stands with one person at them, especially as well they're a Scottish company, but don't seem to make much of a show at the shows here (put it down to being between other larger shows down south or what not).

Funny you should mention them. I just discovered Miniature Mojo a couple days ago. Their dogs and ICE Troopers definitely interest me. Any clue how well they scale up against other brands?

Check out this thread on the Lead Adventure forums. Its where the creator of that game posts his WIPs so I'm sure there's some sort of size comparison there (...in the seventy five odd pages, sorry I have to go out soon so I can't really search through them). Ah, as far as I can tell they sit at your regular 28mm (non heroic height), or well a titch smaller. If you're using them alongside one of the other 28mm makers who doesn't err more towards the 32mm side of things you should be fine.

That figure stands a little taller than regular 28mm IIRC.

Beyond that I think there's an image (a crap one that is) of a some of their wolves with Urban War Romans (chunky 28mm). Eugh, here it is, spoilered for terrible picture quality and painting. The wolves are sitting on 30mm bases btw and are a little larger than the dogs, well at least in terms of length. =P

Spoiler:

I have a friend who's into the whole setting and that game, so he's intending to make a whole terrain set for a Siberian base at some point. Hmn, I'll ask him tomorrow if he's picked up any of those miniatures, though I believe he's using another manufacturer for his snow troopers (someone was selling similar models at a gaming show a couple of years ago which he really pegged onto).

Damn, and searching through pictures trying to find one of a scale comparison came up with this. Holy crap I didn't realise making a Pseudodog for Stalker would be so simple. 0.0

In other news, because yes I didn't check my Facebook messages till just after posting there, here's the latest new releases.

The Attack Dogs are out, £2 each or £5 for three.

Beyond the Seven Seas as well for £12 (nae hard copy though so I'm not interest so much).

A second set of Coppers, £3.25 each or £9 for the set.

Huh, and cool Mounted Simians, £8 each or £15 for the pair. Does Crooked Dice have many Planet of the Apes scenarios or are they just selling and expanding on the Ainsty line?

Plus the deals are the 7Tv Events and Gadget Cards set are down from £8 to £4, as are the Temporal Travellers down from £11.50 a set to £5.50.

Wow, now wasn't that an amazing hack job of what they posted on their sales page? I'd hazard that if you gagging for updates about this company to join their forum, ah, though I personally CBA checking more than a couple of sites for news, so Dakka's board usually does.

That's a Black Scorpion "Tombstone" miniature Wyrmalla. Black Scorpion tends to be more 30mm than 28mm.

The not-Ghostbusters are back in stock for a bit.. got a set just now!

I'd love some more CD minis but man, if there is a US distributor I would love to know about it.

Those new sculpts for the Paranormal Exterminators look fantastic!

Heh, I didn't peg it was meant to be Weaver, despite my first look making me think it looked a hell of a lot light her. ¬¬

I like that they're using that sculptor for stuff like this. As I've said to me he's better at it than who they've been using for their regular lines. Of course they're keeping him to just this unfortunately, but saying that what he does come out with is pretty good. I'd like to see him going on to make other tv/film tie in stuff, like I donno Die Hard, the A Team, or well whatever stuff they can throw in with their 80s ruleset (even if Hasslefree already sells a few such models).

Huh, oh yeah, I couldn't recall the scale, so couldn't be more specific than saying that it was a little larger than 28mm. By my guess those dogs would be in the same size range as the Crooked Dice ones, considering that Crooked Dice models are scaled a little large, and that Miniature Mojos models are supposed to be 28mm (I can't speak for the humans, but they're dogs fit in well enough). =P

The retail page on their site lists distributors (I don't know if its up to date however). Warpath Games Distributor is listed as their sole US seller. Surprisingly their list of products seems to be fairly up to date, but that doesn't indicate whether they have those items in stock of they have to import them from here, so there may be a bit of a wait with your order (though at least you'll avoid the international shipping fees).

Loving the Brig and Sgt Benton. Kate Stewart and the other one, not so much. At least she's not Lee Evans.

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." Ack, this thread's been updated. Quick think of a witty title. ... Crap!

* It is fun to see that picture of Lister every time I change this thread's title at least.

More of the Doctor Who stuff then? Sarah Jane and that scientist from the Day of the Doctor with the scarf? Least the soldiers do for the Falklands, etc.

* edit

Damn! This just reminded me that one of the shops near me is having a 50% sale on all Crooked Dice items. Heh, there goes my Saturday morning.

Sorry, you are wrong on who that is. From left to right.
Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, The one from "Day of the Doctor", Kate Stewart - The Brig's Daughter from 'Nu-Who', and Sargeant Benton. Sarah Jane not included.

I stopped watching the series after the Scottish one died. ...I mean the ginger one. ...Before the silly pandering to the lowest common denominator one turned up. ...OK, I have never watched an episode of Doctor Who.

From Facebook:

WORLD EXCLUSIVE! Some of the following may be true facts…
Graeme will be demo'ing 7TV 2nd Edition at this year's Salute. You will be able to come and have a shot on a 2ft square demo board with half a dozen models or so each side. Highlights of this exclusive event will include:
• See the rules in play and get to roll the dice and play the actual game and everything
• Marvel at the lovely and long fabled profile cards Karl has spent hours of his life putting together
• Savour the Countdown cards, realise they are a symbol of your own life ticking down to your inevitable demise
• Find out what we plan to release, when, where, why and how much money you will be giving us for all of it
• Be dazzled by the rules justifications from the game's designer* (pictured) and get prodded with a fork if you disagree
*: Karl has contributed many many things to the 2nd Edition as well. My favourite is the 'Karls Beard' PDF, which will be the first 2nd Edition supplement due to popular demand
Truly this is exciting. Graeme has been to special classes learning to deal nicely with others in preparation for this. Others will be on hand to ensure the correct medication is taken, meaning collateral casualties may be avoided altogether this year.

Something about them all being .pdfs and not invalidating the older books. I think so, but check back in this thread as it was brought up earlier when I had the same concern.

Ooh, but if they're already playtesting it perhaps I'll pick something new up at the show I go to in a few months. They certainly do have quite a few expansions in the works which aren't out yet at least.
