I've heard bad things about prodos not delivering; is it safe to order from them or is it throwing money away?

I never had problems with their store. Three different orders, all processed and shipped in a day or two. But that was some months ago, dunno if anything changed.

Prodos problems are with getting the AVP KS rewards shipped. They are using money rec'd from store orders to ship the AVP stuff, so please buy lots of stuff so I (and lots of others) can get our remaining AVP stuff.

I'd help you out but they e been out of stock at Miniaturemarket on the core set for a while now. I think they are having troubles even getting them to retail. I also want to buy one of their Gigamechs, but sadly no luck there either.

I've ordered Warzone Miniatures from Frontline Gaming and Noble Knight with great luck. And after having spent three days demoing Warzone for perspective players at CaptainCon, I can say I am much more comfortable with the 1.5 rules. Point costs and stats have been a bit rebalanced. Haven't had a change to dig in deep with the resource cards yet, however.

Also, considering how gigantic the Eradicator is, that Gigamech is going to have a helluva lot of table presence!

What I do when I run demo games is use the full allotment of resource cards as per the Advanced game (e.g. 6 + 1 + 1 for a Ranged Warlord with two Troop squads) and let the players get used to spending those resources on extra action points, extra attacks and the occasional heal roll.. and then by turn 3, once they have grasped how easy it is to burn through 8-10 in a turn, I give them a hand of 5 cards (2x Strategy, 3x Tactics) and then they get a true appreciation of resource management

Yeah we normally do 5 resource cards just so people can wrap their mind around it (4 for the warlord, 1 for the unit) and just let them run a warlord and a full unit. For a convention it allowed us to get more people involved. For a store demo, I think your method would be perfect!

Yeah I must admit that I took a full 4x4 table with two 500 point forces to a con on the weekend and while I oversaw a few games, the size of the table and the (mere!) ~12 models per side might have put a few people off. I think I will paint up my 2x2 Secret Weapon display board with me as well for people who don't want to commit to a 90 minute game.
