Hi

I am hoping this is not classed as 'spam' as this is a genuine post that could truly help the Warhammer community.  If the mods class it as spam then I sincerely apologise and please remove it and spit it into a bin, but I really think this is a serious news item for Warhammer 40K fans.  I currently support dakka through banner ads but feel this is a serious item to discuss as it is not merely saying 'buy this'.

I know you guys get the privilege of paying high prices for your figures, and if you want to sell them you get the equally dubious privilege of using ebay.

I run a dedicated gaming auction site, that could seriously save you and your gaming friends a fortune each year.  I am not going to bang on about it, but please take a look at what you could save by visiting:

More cash in your pockets for figures has got to be a bonus, as has avoiding paying through the nose to ebay as well as GW?

I've been intrigued by the market, but I have a few questions:

1. It seems like most of the sellers are in the UK. If I want to restrict my buyers to the US, is that possible?
2. What protections are there for sellers/buyers? Ebay and Bartertown don't have much, but they have something...

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

What has the traffic been like on this website? You can have lower prices but if there's less viewers, then it's all relative.

Pretty much no traffic at all. Saving a buck on auction fees doesn't help if no one bids. Or worse, only 1 guy bids.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Yup, while the idea is good, you're nailing jelly to a tree trying to compete with eBay.

From the looking around I've done, there's not really much to attract either buyers or sellers. Sellers need the traffic to get decent prices. Buyers want bargains to tempt them to stick around. If all that they're seeing is stuff with a buy it now price 10% lower than RRP, there's plenty of online stores that do the same thing... and ship worldwide, which most of the sellers on this site appear not to do.

And most of the auctions seem to be running for 10 days... which IMHO is just too long. I find with my eBay sales that 5-7 days is plenty. More than 7 days and people lose interest and go with the guy selling one sooner, even if they have to pay a little more.

So while I applaud the effort that's gone into setting this up, I honestly can't see it being successful while eBay's still going strong.

hmm....its a neat idea....or, would have been if eBay didn't come up with it a million years ago!!! Its almost like me saying...hey guys, I've got a great new invention....I call it A......CAR!!

Ok, not quite the same...but equally as pointless. Ebay has its drawbacks, but like everything else it has its plus points as well.

I reckon for this website to truely tae off its gonna need something different! Its gonna need to offer sellers and buyers something that eBay doesn't...right now it doesn't do that...not really.

Man down, Man down....
