Yep middle guy in this image:

Spoiler:

The model is just in front of the Abomination

There’s also new foes to vanquish! This time, there’s powerful Necromancers roaming the board who can add to the hordes ravaging the land. They’re sneaky, though, and it will take all of your cunning to hunt them down.

For anyone not following the Black Palgue thread, there is an article on TricTrac that gives some insight into the changes in Zombicide Black Plague

http://www.trictrac.net/news/zombicide-black-plague-doth-mother-know-thou-weareth-her-brains-0

TLDR:
Heroes have 3 wounds
Magic works like equipment cards
Necromancer works like a zombie that creates more spawn points, Creates a new spawn point where he arrives and then tries to run off board via the next nearest spawn point.
Kill him and you can remove a spawn point. If he makes it off the board, the spawn point remains.

Been playing a lot since Season 3 arrived, and decided to work up custom survivors based on the members of my gaming group

Here is the first

That is awesome!

How are you creating the new dashboards?

Is there a template/program out there somewhere?

They provided a blank dashboard back when the game came out.

It's just some simple layers on top.

I believe there is a .xcf file for it on Boardgame geek with the proper fonts to use with GIMP.

I plan on making a dashboard for each of the players in my Zombicide group.

Here is a summary of all the Abomination types from the up coming Zombicide Black Plague. I'm thinking of adding them to my normal Zombicide games to spice things up a bit

Abomination : requires a Damage 3 weapon (or Dragon Fire) to kill, grants 5 XP when killed, it's attacks cannot be blocked by Armor rolls, and it has 1 action per activation.

Wolf-bomination: requires a Damage 3 weapon (or Dragon Fire) to kill, grants 5 XP when killed, it's attacks cannot be blocked by Armor rolls, and it has 3 actions per activation

Abominotaur : requires a Damage 3 weapon (or Dragon Fire) to kill, grants 5 XP when killed, it's attacks cannot be blocked by Armor rolls, and it has 1 action per activation.
Each of its powerful gore attacks deal 2 Wounds to its helpless target.
At the start of the activation step of the Zombies' Phase, set the Abominotaur's target Zone before moving it, ignoring closed doors and walls (but not Vault doors and ramparts). If an Abominotaur has to go through a closed door or wall, first put a “broken wall” token to link its starting and destination Zones, and remove any closed door token that might be in the way. The broken wall is considered as an open door, and thus can generate a Zombie spawn in a previously closed building. Actors can now cross the Zones. After that, proceed with moving all the other Zombies (as the Zombies’ route can be redefined by the wall’s destruction).

Ablobination: requires a Damage 3 weapon (or Dragon Fire) to kill, grants 5 XP when killed, it's attacks cannot be blocked by Armor rolls.
Whenever the Ablobination activates with Line Of Sight to any Survivors at Range 0-1. It will perform an Attack against ALL Zones at Range 0-1 to which it has Line of Sight. Obstacles preventing Movement between Zones (such as tower ramparts) do manage to block the Ablobination's attack.

Abominalpha : requires a Damage 3 weapon (or Dragon Fire) to kill, grants 5 XP when killed, it's attacks cannot be blocked by Armor rolls, and it has 3 actions per activation
As long as the Abominalpha is on the board, all cards that would spawn Runners, spawn Wolfz instead!

As someone new to Zombicide(getting in on the Black Plague), are there any tips, tools, or tricks that will help me to run a better game? Extra dice, how to prep players, etc?

It is possible to play solo. I'd suggest running through a few to get a good grasp on the game mechanics before introducing others.

Is there much depth to this game or is it mostly trashy fun? Asking because I'm about to give them a a lot of money for Blqck Plague

It's not random. If you don't think ahead, and way risks, your survivors will get eaten. At the same time however, later in the game once your characters get in the red they will be mowing down zombies like only an action movie hero could.

I already have in my head the Legolas and Gimli like interaction between the box set's Dwarf and Elf heroes, arguing over who's kille dthe most zombies.

I would say look on BGG for threads about Mission difficulty. The first mission in the base game is a tutorial and can be played as a filler while waiting for people to show up. The second mission is actually quite difficult, but I found it challenging.

There's not as much depth as, say, a highly rated Eurogame, but, like many coops, it's a puzzle game where you're most efficiently using your resources and position to reach your objectives. Herding zombie through line of sight and noise, for example. Read the reviews on BGG for more info.

Plus, of course, you can use the zombies for your undead tabletop army!

My wife and I play Zombicide a lot and have a great time with it. I would say it has a bit of depth and is good for lots of trashy fun, basically an over-the-top action movie. There are tactical choices to be made during the game regarding when to open doors and making sure that one character doesn't get too far ahead in experience level and make things more difficult for everyone else.

From a game-play standpoint I think Black Plague will be a big improvement over the original game. I've backed it and am very excited about it. The recent addition of Archer Zombies (skeletons) who have a ranged attack will make for some interesting challengers.

But yes. Extra dice. I'd say it's worthwhile to have 5 for every player.

Completely unnecessary, but it prevents you from having to pass them.

The Stretch Goal Campaign - Arson - is Available Now!

Greetings Zombicide Fans!

We're excited to announce the new, free, 7-Mission branching campaign created for Zombicide Season 3: Rue Morgue and Angry Neighbors' Kickstarter, Arson! Arson was designed with all unlocked stretch goals in mind: having extra zombie miniatures (including an extra Abomination) is recommended.

Arson is available for download: Click Here for Arson

Best Regards,

Ultimate versions of previously KS exclusive characters allows them to still have exclusive figures, while allowing late comers an official figure to use as well.

I'll laugh my butt off if the Ultimate versions look like the same actors but dressed as characters they played in a different movie.

I'm down. Hopefully they put a few years between Ultimates and Exclusives for the people who support early.

That said I'll be happy to pick one up with not-Chuck and not-Bruce.

Wait, was there an ultimate survivors 1 box? Or are there 2 boxes coming? I'm confused.
