you've done a really good job on the sedition wars guys.

The truck chassis looks interesting but the site is even more interesting, thanks for the heads up.

Some time ago I got this brilliant haul from Graven for my winning the last LoER comp. Some fantastic bits and pieces, really chuffed, Thank you Graven.

So I rooted through it for inspiration today, and found these bits...

And a bit of work later ..

Blurry base coat pic...

Quick word on the gold.... Had this pot for ages now, think it is a very fancy emulsion, however...

And a layer or two on a blue/black base...

Thank you all.

@ Grim, thank you, reasonably happy myself.
@Shas, indeed he does.
@Jan, coming from you sir, THANK you.
@WP, For a bit at least, though the green is calling me at the moment I am managing to resist.
@EDC, Thank you on all counts.

So not really getting as much done as I want at mo and it is bumming me out, but....

All old metals, trying hard on the cloaks, still got a way to go.

Oh and basing the other rats....

Still a bit wip.

Thoughts as always appreciated.

I always loved the old skaven sculpts, so much better than the newer ones in my opinion. The blue color on the night runner sculpts looks great, looks like it would help disguise them well in the dark.

Sorry to not be around much, limited time online and then power outage has had me on cellular only the past few days.

I want to see some space skaven. BLACKHAND did an amazing job for a while several years ago making a 40k skaven army, unfortunately he never finished it. They were amazing and I thought fit into the ethos as well as a number of the other races.

Thanks,

@ Theo No apology necessary. Understand sir, best wishes. As to the sculpts, yes I am with you, love many of the older sculpts, not got anything against any new or old, but as a matter of taste I prefer the old.

@ Dr Agreed.

@ Gits, Indeed I am feeling an itch myself, maybe.

@ Graven Thank you sir, and seems to be a slog for alot of us at the moment, but as you and Doc have said, every little is a victory in itself.

Speaking of which, a little progress....

Couple more of a little progress on Champ...

And next in line started....

Thanks for looking, thoughts appreciated.

Thank you.

@ WP I know what you mean
@Theo, spot on, and thank you sir.
@Josh, They are nice, apart from the nasty mould lines, (don't look too close.)
@ Gits, thank you sir, much appreciated.

So first Taking my time and trying desperately to be subtle skaven....

Then on to the things....

OK quick notes on how I am doing this, totally stolen from the giants (Nerdy etc.you guys know who you are!)

This has had a prime of GW Zandri dust, then a dark green wash put over the green bits and a flesh tone applied to the rest.

This is with a dry brush of gold on the green.

Then a wash of dark green again, this time it was a little more intense, it was ork flesh, watered down a lot.

Blood red watered down and washed over the flesh.

Tamiya Clear red watered down and washed over the fleshy parts.

Tamiya Clear Red watered down and washed over whole thing.

And his partner in crime...same treatment...

These are still work in progress, and I will be going in and adding the details, still a bit more to go on some of the green bits i think, not sure.

Appreciate your thoughts.

Looking at the pics I have a lot of work still to do, and some of those mould lines are now really bugging me.....

Thought I would do up a little tut on the gore.....

That thing with the mouths and teeth just looks horrifying... really top notch. I know what you mean about the mold lines. The bloodthirster I'm working on has a few that mysteriously appeared after the airbrushing... not I'm looking at the rather unenviable task of a fix & complete re-paint.

Thanks,

@ Jan, Thank you sir.
@Shas, Yours where awesome too, these lend themselves to many colour schemes really, and I think they can be used as proxies for many monsters.
@ Gits, Thank you, and I feel your pain sir, I am still touching these up, but thankfully not a complete repaint, good luck.
@ Joe, though if you look on Amazon I found mine really cheap, so got two sets!

OK, Skaven...

Votable

Thoughts appreciated, really tried to make an effort, pics are not coming out brilliant, got to work on that, know what to do, just too lazy to do it.

Nice tutorial, Cam'.
Good effect on both the blood and candy armour.

Good job on the rats. I like the colours.
I know you like feedback so let's look at the cloaks: As I said, I like the colours. but the black to blue would benefit from being wet-blended, reeeeealy smoothly. Especially as it's cloth, with lots of creases. All the high points would look very nice if picked out with blended highlights when framed by the black recesses.

But all that is probably too much for table-top armies, there are a lot of creases.
Keep up the good work.
