Nah, we're only a small, tight-knit community. No one will know. It's not like this is one of the biggest wargaming forums on the net with thousands of active users or anything.

Actually like number 2 and 7 of the first image and 1, 2 and 4 of the second one.

I'll explain, I feel missile pods are a great deterrent, but rarely pan out as awesome as they look on paper. I prefer the safer weapon options. Plus it fits the role of a light scout unit better, I think.

Is... is that... a quad railgun goshawk on number 3?

Or are those lasers? If lasers, then it gets a meh from me. 2 would be way better, then.

I'll only speak to the goshawks since I'm Neo-Bloc all the way, so I NEED number 3 pending confirmation of lolrailgun pew pew (although I'm mentally trying to figure out how to magnetize it to be compatible with existing weapon kits and not have a poorly drilled magnet hole on the top of the shoulder visible), and I heart number 6 as well because more dakka. 5 and 7 look awkward to me for some reason... I guess I'm just expecting the guns on the arms and the rockets on the shoulders because the bigger thingies should go on the arms in my mind.

They are lasers.

Under the current rules none of the mecha will be allowed to have more than a pair of railguns as it turns into all sorts of wrong. Heavies or quads may see an option to add more via special support systems but light and mediums just won't have the power required to run more than a pair.

If you sink magnets just slightly deeper than the surface they still hold fine and you can cover the hole/indentation with greenstuff and get it nice and smooth, once painted you can't where the magnet is.

Config 3 is totally useless to me then, because the torso mounted lasers can't link with the arms. I get that if an arm gets shot off, then I still can fire my linked torso lasers, but I will not trade firepower/utility for contingency.

I therefore happily will sign up for goshawk configs 2 and 6 please and thank you!

I backed for NorAm so not much to say about the Goshawk, other than that the missile racks in 4 and 5 pointing upwards doesn't suit the overall design of the Goshawk, which has the weapons/arms drooping downwards, or sagging shoulders.

As for the Raptor, I like 1, 3 and 5 the most

For the Goshawk I like 2 and 6

For the raptor I'm loving the look of those launchers, but especially the larger ones

My version of the Raptor that I really like is my "variant"; railgun, capacitor, and linked machineguns (not sure if its possible though).

But what I REALLY want to do is a Lynx with a Heavy Railgun, tri-linked Light machine guns, and capacitor.... the "canis" variant, made to hunt heavy armor in packs then run like hell (again, no idea if all that would fit on the chasis though)

That's just me wish-listing (although I did start modifying one of my raptors to the light variant... and I may mod one of my lynxes as well).

Lynx with Heavy railgun is... juicy delicious.

I'm a big fan of the machine-gun overkill and pop into the back quadrant for all sorts of shenanigans. They are surprisingly effective. Reminds me of the ol' Battletech Piranha, but able to take down a heavy mecha.

That was my thought. Heavy Railgun to punch the big bads, medium mecha speed to out-run most, and the machine-guns for sustained anti-missile fire/ to target the faster, nimbler lights that would be the only things able to catch it.

Since by the end of the kickstarter deliveries I'll have fairly even forces for all three factions, was considering trying to do a campaign with some friends... and that mecha (or maybe the cougar because, man that model is growing on me everyday!) would be the main bad guys ride (or my personal "Named" pilot's ride)

Any time line on opening up orders to non backers now that you are shipping? I am upset that I missed the kickstarter, and want to jump in.

Say I backed at the "assault force" level- will everything ship at once, or piecemeal?

My response time is a bit laggy, ove rthe last 4 days I've been screwing around with repairing my computer after I got hit with a virus and needed to replace my hard drive, all my files were ok but I had to reinstall windows and all of my programs which has been rather frustrating and very time consuming. I accidentally clicked a link on facebook for one of their "suggested articles" and it put me on a malware site. Not cool FB, not cool at all.

My schedule for this week was completely trashed due to the computer issues as it prevented me from using my postage software, I couldn't print any labels or get any orders shipped and I spent three full days focused on getting my programs fixed that could have gone towards casting.

I'm planning on doing a second KS to cover more weapon designs, I'm still hammering down the final aspects but it'll likely be 2-3 new variants for each mecha to help cover all the gaps in the weapon options. Both the Raptor and Goshawk are currently in need of some laser options as they are featured in the rules but are lacking the actual parts, same for rocket pods, sensor units, etc. I'll also being doing the Blackfrost light as part of the main KS. I'll also do the quads if it hits funding levels that will support it.

As for the current kickstarter I have a little over 200 models to get cast which will complete the stuff for wave one. Those models cover the remaining 25-30 orders which are underway but are moving very slowly as each of the larger tier orders are 6-10 mechs per box which takes a good amount of time to cast and pack. Currently I'm casting somewhere between 16-20 models a day so I'm only averaging 2-3 packages a day.

I expect that I should have the rest of the wave one stuff out by the end of the month.

If you ordered one of the higher pledge tiers you'll get your stuff in two separate mailings, the light mechs will be headed out shortly and if you ordered any of the lynx or cougar models. (There's also a handful of orders that have a mix of 15mm and 6mm stuff in the same order, those haven't shipped yet but will go out shortly).

Delivery time on wave two is looking like it may be in late Feb or early March. Given how much this project exceeded the initial target it's created a lot of extra casting work. I'm pushing ahead as quickly as a I can but it's basically a entire years worth of work crammed into a 3 month window. I've been making good progress but it's also been a bit rough as I've also been juggling school and a second job all at the same time. (which isn't what I anticipated when I launched the KS) Things are running a little bit slower then expected but I'm not too far behind given the sheer volume of casting work I've been dealing with.

I was just asking about this over on the KS thread.

Thanks for letting us know what's going on. I'll stop hovering over the mailbox for a bit.

Did you happen to get hit by a DLLhost.exe virus? I had that happen to me about a week or 2 ago also. Stupid Trojan, had to hammer away at it with help from Avast.

System isn't acting the same since though :(

Yeah it was some form of DLL based virus, it was triggering alerts for adclicker and polisk (sp?) which are memory based viruses that set up in the root kit and registry. It seems to be spreading primarily through social media FB and through IM usage like skype. It was being blocked from sending outgoing data and connection to a remote site but I kept getting warning notices every 20 seconds or so.

Very annoying to get rid of, Norton detects it but is unable to get rid of it properly and they want to charge extra for their support service to remove it, and my reply to that was feth you! It's bad enough I have to sign up for antivirus then they want an extra $100 a pop to fix what their software is supposed to be preventing to begin with. For that price I decided to just get a new drive, downside is having to reinstall almost every program as it doesn't recognize the new windows configuration and that also led to a lot issues with the re-installs and I spent a lot of time on the phone with software tech guys to get my postage label program working again.

The main drive with windows was infected but the secondary drive where I keep all my non programs files was fine.

Shmart man. At least you only jettisoned what you could part with. I'm buying my mom an external hard drive for Xmas so when she does download a virus (even through Norton) I can do a hard reinstall and forget about it.

So, if I pledge for just two light or medium models, one in 15mm and one in 6mm, should I be worried if I haven't seen them yet?

I'm worried because I received my Robotech box, and it is deeply unsettling that RTT arrived before Mecha Front. It's unnatural.

I should have a limited supply of the wave one 6mm models in stock by friday, but there's no sale planned.

(as somebody who has had to work far too many of them I really despise everything about black friday sales as it's consumerism taken to disgusting levels with no appreciation for the work staff).

Responded. Unless you mean you replied to my reply.

I'm not trying to bust you on the delivery. I'm worried because I've been out of town a lot and want to make sure someone didn't swipe my packages. I have absolutely zero concerns with you or your process; the people in my neighborhood concern me. Maybe I haven't read the updates closely enough, but it sounds like my order should have been covered by the minis you've already cast and shipped, which leads me to the conclusion that some punk is out there painting and playing with my Mecha Front minis right now (assuming they weren't dumpstered for not being electronics).

Ah Black Friday. Good times. I remember when a customer tried to break down the back room door to get at me personally for telling him we had sold out of what he wanted. Truly a season of blessings.

Nice to see the 6mm stuff up on the store. When are the full rules going to be available? And how playable is it currently, i'm curious about ordering something small for a demo thing. What would be the recommended, two different lights each side? Medium and a Light?

- 1250 points
Empire of the Blazing Sun (Combined Theaters)- 1950 points
FUBAR Starship Troopers- Would you like to know more?

The rules are playable. I recommend making yourself a hit location die with a blank one to speed up damage allocation.

Most of the builds are balanced (varying with your play style, of course) and if you want lights to be really important, keep heavies off the table. 2 lights and a medium gives plenty of opportunities for fun. I playtested with 2 lights, 2 meds and 1 heavy. Start smaller, honestly.

I'm not sure on the pricing just yet. They'll have a discount but it won't be quite as deep as what was offered on the kickstarter.

That looks like something Jon said during the Kickstarter in reference to post Kickstarter pricing.

I think the pricing quote was possibly in reference to if I'd offer group deals on the minis? At least from memory, there's pages and pages of stuff so it'd be helpful if the context was also quoted. (as in the rest of the post) If you have a specific question please let me know as I'm not sure what is being asked with the quote.

The rules are playable in their basic form, I still need to smooth out some stuff like including deployment zones and detailed scenarios but there's enough that you can grab similar sized forces and have fun shoot them up game. You can check them out here: http://www.mechafrontforums.com/index.php?topic=4.0

What we've been using as a "full sized" force during play testing is 3 lights, 2 med, 1 heavy For a smaller game 2-3 lights and a medium works quite well.

For wave one I should have the remaining Assault level pledges out by end of this week. Which will leave just the Carnage level stuff and that will take at least another week or two get those cast and shipped. That estimate may end up getting delayed a bit as my Grandfather is on very borrowed time ATM so I may need to pause on production for a few days while helping with funeral arrangements and doing family stuff, he's 93 and been in poor health the last couple of months so we've been half expecting it for a while. We know he has terminal cancer but the doctor won't give us any sort of estimate so it could be in a couple days or it might be a month we don't know beyond it's going to happen soon. I'm the meantime I'll be working on stuff while waiting for the call, so my schedule for the next week or two is basically in limbo until that's resolved.
