Very nice. How are you planning on finishing their weapons?

Well, for the copper/bronze, I was thinking of doing it similar to this, just with less steps (probably just the initial basecoat and the washes, with a brighter highlight for characters)

Unsure about the hafts, I'll probably have a go at making it look like Sycamore wood.

Hey!

Well, I got the paints I needed for the bronze, and I've began to start painting the unit! Got 11 models bronzed up so far (though only 10 are pictured). So, how does it look?

Also played a game, too. Unsurprisingly, I lost. Damn I hate Dawn Attack... really annoying mission (random deployment).

It's been really hot the past few days, so hot that I haven't actually painted at home. I painted 9 model at GW when I bought the paint (the new manager has already done more than the previous one in the past week! He's made the store seem more spacious, and reorganised all the stock) and the other 2 yesterday at the gaming club I'm part of (after watching some of the guys play X-Wing).

Hopefully it cools down a bit so I can paint more comfortably,
Thanks for looking!

Love them. Get a gold drybrush and some "Delvan miracle" wash on them and they'll be fantastic!

Thanks, Gits, probably a bit hard to tell, but I've already done the miracle wash

Must be the blade-on angle of the photo.

Aye, must be.

Well, I was hoping to update in the past week but I never got around to it.
Again, the weather is annoying. Either too hot to paint comfortably and too humid for the paint to dry, or pouring with rain.

As well as that, school has started again, so even less time to paint.

However, I did get some more work done today, modelling-wise, not painting-wise. I've assembled the final (for know) Tomb Guard, making him a musician. Will get pics of him later on. Also worked on more grunts, the archers and the warriors. Those units are slowly but surely being assembled!

2nd group meet tomorrow for the club, and unlike the last one the other fantasy player is coming, meaning I can have my 2nd game with my Tomb Kings! (Probably will end up using a different list, though)

Thanks!

Well this shows just how much school can 'interfere' (even if it is the priority) with wargaming!
Long time no see guys! School got heavy, fast (final year and all that) especially when your electives are either the hardest or most work intensive subjects your school offers (heh heh, Maths C: the hardest of the maths, Physics, Art and Film for those wondering)

But it is holiday time again! 2 weeks (well, 1 and a half now) to get as much progress I can before school comes around again!

I did get some progress done in the term, but not enough worth showing in all honesty. Did a small amount of work in between playing games and, well, work. Mainly painting the Tomb Captain a bit, testing out a different take on gold (less vibrant, more washed out). It's only a basecoat, but it looks good so far if I do say so myself. I've messed about a bit more with the camera settings, trying to get a more realistic picture (the last few were a tad washed out), mainly because my sister had changed them completely. After a few attempts I've gotten a good picture (or at the very least, better).

Aside from a small amount of painting on the Tomb Guard and the process of assembling archers, I also assembled half a box of haradrim warriors I had lying around, mainly because I was a bit bored with assembling the annoying skeles.

I've also had a few games, both with TK and Daemons.
I still have yet to win one game with my TK, but I'm still fairly new to them and fantasy in general, so that's to be expected.
With my Daemons I've been doing quite well, almost too well in fact. My last game with them was a total victory, even though I had less troops then my opponents (we were playing a 2V1, me being the 1). Seeker Heralds with AP2 weapons are devasting... especially when you make you opponents have -1 T and S... 6 Str 5 AP2 attacks re-rolling failed hits... yikes! I was quite lucky with the powers I got!

Playing a special game of fantasy this afternoon, 1000pts per player team match. Maybe I'll be able to win a game in fantasy for once! (no doubt thanks to my team mates taking the brunt of the enemies' blows while I rain arrows down upon them)

Thanks,
M.K

(hopefully more updates soon-ish)

As long as you're making progress, no matter how small... you're getting somewhere!

Be aware (and I think you are, considering I believe I've seen you on the TK forums) that Tomb Kings, though definitely the best looking of the Fantasy armies, are also one of the hardest to play effectively. They make you think hard about positioning and averages and chances, and teach you a deep appreciation for tactics, strategies, and good winds of magic rolls.

It's honestly no wonder you're doing well with your Daemons- they are, in a way, TK easy mode.

@Gits: True words as ever. I'll keep as it!

@Anvil: Yes, I am aware of the challenges of Tomb Kings and I did expect this outcome (especially with every 2/3 or maybe even 4/5 people around here playing Chaos Warriors). I'm slowly warming up to the play style, though I'm very far from mastering it!

Well, the game yesterday was fun! Massive siege game that went for 8-9 hours. I was one of two players who had survived from the beginning, even with my Tomb Kings taking the brunt of the enemy's assault. In all there were 7 attackers and 5 defenders, though all weren't playing at one time. The maximum number of defenders and attackers at one time was 4.

Highlight for me involved Dawi (Dwarven) allies meeting their doom
At around T3 a Daemon Slayer rushes out of the fortress gates into an approaching horde of Savage Orks, targeting (challenging)their warboss, slaying him in single combat and causing his boys to flee. What made it even better was that he overran into them... he wiped out a whole unit of orks by himself
Then the glorious tale of Belegar... who charged out the gates only to find himself alone with no way of getting back in. Though he met his doom, he destroyed a unit of 3 skullcrushers, hound and managed to tie up a buffed daemon prince for a few turns, even getting close to slaying it!

Once again my Tomb Guard survived the entire game... even if they didn't do anything but play target practice for the chaos gods. I really need to get around to naming these guys for their deeds, even with the heirophant down they would not fall...

Thanks,
M.K

Before heading off to the cinema to watch the new Captain America movie, which I enjoyed greatly compared to the last one which I hated, I got some more work done on my Tomb Captain.
He's not quite done yet, still a few minor touch ups to go, but he should be finished soon! Now I need to paint his shield...
So, without further ado, pics!

Spoiler:

And with some of his fellow Tomb Guard (that aren't done yet):

Coming along nicely MK. You going to lighten up his bandages a bit?

Thanks, Gits!
I'm not quite sure, tbh. Initially I was going to (though I hoped I wouldn't have to), but after browsing Google Images, it seems that the bandages are usually the same colour after all the years in a tomb.
I'm thinking yes at the moment, but that is not a definite.

Back with an update!
Painted 2 more Tomb Guard to the same standards as the Tomb Captain while watching the Lion King, because why not

Hopefully the picture turned out alright, I messed about by finally setting up a make shift photobooth for my minis, though I need some light (the sun will do for now, though).

So here they are!

Spoiler:

And finally a shot of their bases, because I realised I haven't really done any photos where you can easily see the bases:

Thanks!

Looks very nice MK. They'll look great as a squad.
