Pic 1: Spiky Guardians. Yay?

Pic 2: Current DE Warrior headswapped with some fantasy guy.

It's good to know the DE rumours weren't all talk, but I sure hope the models are more exciting than this.

The raider looks like Jabba's personal ride.

But the weapon on top of it makes me think it is based on an actual new model, due to the inclusion of the protection from the Eldar weapon platforms. Did this make any sense?

I'll be a lot happier if the Warriors sport blades instead of spikes. They wouldn't look so chaosy that way.

And for the record, I love the 2nd image. I hope the models looks anything like him, though I'm probably facing a depression after I buy 20 boxes of them (and after spending 20 minutes with each model cleaning the mould lines) because I can't decide on a suitable colour-scheme.

Happens all the time.

What i'd like to know is what those models with the masks and the big backpacks are in the bottom left of the picture

Nice. I am wondering if this is art out of the 5th edition rulebook.

Very nice. My mate bringing in a box of dark eldar warriors into school and letting me put one together was what got me into the hobby in the first place, so DE hold a special place in my heart, the minis do look very dated now. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they turn out.

Opinions are like arseholes. Everyone's got one and they all stink.

Future slaves. Hapless Imperials. Image filler.

Man, these images give me a good feeling about the DE redesign. I like them being brought back towards the CW Eldar look, even if it is with a few spikes here and there (and at 30mm, the difference between spikes and blades is often minimal). The unified feel gives them more history and contrast, not just "I wear this armor to be scary".

And yeah, the raiders look like they indicate a redesign. The sails are again closer to the newer BFG Eldar ships, and that's cool.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

new IG unit?

Same with Dark Elves here, I like their style, but until now, the craftworld eldar just had better models and rules to play with... maybe things will change with the next codex.

the first pic might be a new release to the public but i think its an old sketch, look at the Guardsmen those ar th eold cadians not the new ones, they are wearing the old cadian helmets. i bet this is an old sketch which thye jus tbunged in, a lot of artwork in newer books does seem to be recyled

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

I like the look of that ship, the sharkfin is nice, and the curves are more subtle than the current DE stuff.

The Warrior in the second image is interesting, but I think a little flat and Necron-ish. Could use some more personality.

Let us see whether the Spiky Eldar will be as good compared to the Eldar as the Spiky Marines are to regular Marines.

Do the raiders have sails?

The one in the background looks much more like a sail.

I hope this is things to come, the raider is way cooler than the current one.

This art is generally based on finished (or very nearly so) models. Like Shrike, etc, it's not uncommon to see the pics first.

How I want to believe this

Why? For love of the Space Emporer why?

Why these turkeys and not L&D?

Heck even the Squats/Demiurg would be more interesting.

Cylon-ination is right. I like the look myself, and I see nods from my chaos marines too. Bolters eat spiky guardian armor just fine.

yeah, I also thought 'spikey necrons'. In fact it's given me an idea for a Flayed One conversion.

and yes, the first pic is rather 'spikey Eldar'. To me this is partly a fluff issue - do Dark Eldar actively corrupt current Eldar over to the 'Dark Side', in the way that some chaos legions do? If so, a corrupted/spikey Eldar look seems fine, the DE are deliberately mocking their 'good' brethren. But if the split was long long ago and both sides now snootily ignore each other, I'd expect DE to look less Eldarish.

I love the second one. Looks like Evil Eldar rather than Eldar w/54-piece matching Steak Knife set glued to every part of my body.

The raider is also interesting. I notice the gun at the front has a very similar 'shield' to the Guardian Heavy Weapon platforms - just a more styalised 'evi' version.

The 2nd pic is from the fluff section of the 5th ed. rulebook according to bols. So I would guess this is what the warriors will look like.

I am happy to see that the DE still exist. They are the only race who was more unloved than the Orks for the majority of 4th ed (present codex withstanding of course). I hope they get a proper make over, and that it rocks. I do kind of like the present jetbike design that they have.

No my friend, you're thinking of Lost and the Damned.

DE got a codex, a full line of models and were in the bloody boxed set.

The reason they died the first time was no one wanted them.

No, the reason they died the first time was that they had awful models and only 3 decent builds.
