Damn you GW. Damn you!

Very nice looking models for their flagship army. I hope the majority is plastic, as I see numerous yoinkagisms for conversions.

Man. This is all great stuff, but I was hoping to see the Master of the Forge.

Veterans = plastic?

Well, they are space marines so I don't get that excited, but the models are nicely done (except the first captain, he looks stupid...pedo-smile anyone?)

GW can sure make a model, that's for sure. Those are pretty much all awesome. Especially the Scout guy. I've been waiting for a scout-centric character for ages (Namaan not withstanding). I may have to get that one. It'll be my first GW fig in... <counts on fingers>... a while!

Kantor's probably the weakest. Man, those Crimson Fists just cannot get a break, can they?

Taking a hard look:

The best of those minis is the Scout Captain for certain. Great pose, clean design.

I like Kantor a lot as well.

The Assault Vets are decent, and the Rearguard Vets are OK. That is now FIFTEEN metal veterans the SM's have got since 2004. Geez, I love Power Armor, but...

Drop Pod, Redeemer and Scout Bikes look really good.

I like the Thunderfire Ok as well, but that TM looks a bit busy.

Sicarius has a great head and pose, but can't say I love the model.

Same for the old armor/helmet guy.

That's a lot of metal for the new release, but I'm not complaining. We are already loaded with plastic.

Metal vets = |. I literally laughed out loud at your pedo-smile comment...I'll never be able to look at that model again without laughing internally.

I bet its too much to hope that the (vet?) assault squad is all plastic. I've had several false starts with a BA army that I'd love to put those in. I like them overall, the Crimson Fist guy, the Scout Sergeant and the vets really appeal to me.

Seeing the new Land raider painted up makes me want to dust off my Sallies who havnt seen any action since 3rd ed. Speaking of which, has there been a Tu'Shan sighting yet?

I'm a bit disappointed. I don't know why Kantor has those... leather thingies going, they were much better as Ultra-only (being of Roman inspiration). I mean, his lower half isn't as good as the top half.

The Scout Sargeant looks excellent, as do the bikers. Sicarius looks a lot better, and while the Vet. Assault Marines look nice... I'd rather have a plastic kit that allowed for both types of veterans.

The most likely one I'll get will be the Mk. III Veterans. The Mk. II ones were great as Commanders, these new ones are perfect as... Vets?

I'll wait until someone assembles that Speeder so as to know it doesn't have the same problems as the current one

On the whole, I love these.

And NaZ, I don't think they're in the habit of making Hybrid kits much anymore, so they're probably one or the other. Perhaps plastic Jump packs, I guess, but that kind of thing is becoming rarer.

I'm thinking those scout bikers may end life as some cool Rough Riders.

I will say the cover is boring as goat balls.

Especially after Kopinski frigging NAILED the 4th edition cover (still one of their best pieces of art, IMO). Can't have it all.

Uh ... Damn.

Kantor and Old Scout get highest props, but holy hell GW.

EDIT -- Now imagine them doing this level of HOLY SH!T modeling to some CSM Chosen or something. I don't know if my head or pants would explode first. Since these are loyalists, I'm instead just really impressed.

I quite like the Techmarine and his OOT maner. I like Kantor and the old armor guy as well. The drop pod is a welcome addition. The Land Raider is kind of meh. The other metals are not terribly impressive. The scout in particular just seems out of place... even as an officer - I think it is the swishy cape and the well trimmed beard.

Kantor looks great. That scout sergeant is the best of the bunch though. I think that may be a Brian Nelson piece, it has some hints of his design and sculpting skills in there.
The assault vets look really nice too, have to work those into my existing assault vets and upgrade my plastics by detailing a bit.
