Subject: Is Fulgrim eternally damned? *SPOILER ALERT*

Ok, I know this may sound like a stupid question, but here goes...
Is Fulgrim really as lost as the book makes him out to be?
At the end of the book, he atempted to commit suicide after killing Ferrus Manus, but the daemon in the sword made him stop, convincing Fulgrim to open his soul to the daemon so he could be possessed. This pushes Fulgrim into the deepest recesses of his soul, still seeing what the daemon is doing with his body. So, hypothetically, what would happen if Fulgrim's body was destroyed?
The daemon-essence would be cast back into the warp for a thousand years and a day (or something like that), but what would happen to Fulgrim? Would he still be bound to the daemon and return with it? Or would he finally be free?
Unlikely, I know, but it's a possibility!

Well I imagine if he could somehow get rid of the daemon in him he would no longer be on the side of Chaos. But the problem would be him getting out of the warp without being killed, than getting back in the Imperiums good graces without getting killed. So he may not be damned, but either way he's dead.

I think he would only continue to exist in that state so long as he was possessed. So if you killed the daemon in physical form, I would assume Fulgrim would cease to exist. So in the end the best he could hope for is to be released from his personal hell so that he could die.

No, not eternal damned,he is.
Fulgrim was tricked and suffered now about 10 millenia the demons attention.
IMHO hes not lost because he had a duty thats keeps him focused:
to avenge his best friend FM !
If he can pull free of gets rescued his knowledge about a demons inner workings
will help greatly to defeat them.
The emperor might demand atonement, but fulgrim will do as ordered.
 Fulgrim can be freed

You'd have to find him first, he's on a planet of ultimate pleasure and it would be hard for him to leave.

The Demon that enslaved him could be tricked by some of the other ruinous powers to leave his home for the material realm.
Rivalries work against both rivals and the chaos followers are not renown to be best friends.

Yes, Fulgrim is boned. The only way to grant him release would be to exorcise the daemon, which, since it's housed in a physical form with the power of a Daemon-Primarch, would most likely require a great deal of death, destroying Fulgrim's body in the process.
Even if the daemon was tricked out of Fulgrim, his body would be so suffused with warp energy that it'd be impossible for him to survive without the influence of Chaos.

There must be a part of him thats not warp-turned, Idont believe even a primarch could survive in pure chaos.
So there is the chance to free him and if no retrieval of his body is possible, he can be transferred into a dread.

Fulgrim will be redeemed when the Emperor rises from the Golden Throne, when Roboute Guilliman heals his fatal wound, when Russ returns from the warp.
The End Times are nigh! Repent, repent!*

Just read the book, and my thought is if the entity of Fulgrim ever regains control, even for an instant, then he will commit the noble suicide he attempted. Sacrificing the Primarch to id the physical realm of an extremely powerful Daemon-Primarch combo platter.

Flee like a coward by id from his guilt?
To do this,he must change his ways completely. The kill of 1 demon might not repay what hes done to his father, brothers and friends.
Fulgrim had the chance to stop chaos before heresy. But the eldar could be wrong and Fulgrims chance was not in 32k,it is in 42k !
