Let me know what you think. These are my 2nd and 3rd attempts at modeling and I just couldn't leave these Harlequins in their cool action poses without something dead on the other end of their swords. (Sorry about the glare and shadows on a few of these, ill do it right next time.)

#2 Troop Master.
My buddy let me have a Nid Warrior, I sawed his face off and clipped his arm off so the sword is suppose to look as if it went arm than face and is trailing gore. For the gore on all of these I used paper towel soaked in elmers glue, once I got it cut and formed as I wanted I soaked that in lock tight which made it basically plastic. Add paint and woot.

Here it is.

#3 Harlequin with Kiss.
Got a CSM painted him up. Drilled a hole to fit the kiss tube in. Gored that up. My idea of the Harlequin kiss is that it shoots the monofiliment out and exits and reenters the body than leaves it in little pieces.
-I used Fishing line for the cord, and did paper towel elmers glue locktight combo again for gore.

Here it is.

Current project is a Wraithlord mixed with nid bits... it is looking silly and sick so far which is sort of the goal.

Thanks!

that was rude, and i think you should apologize.

while i do agree the paint is in need of a little shading (washes perhaps?) its still cleaner than most people i know.

the execution of the conversions are ace dude, i love em!

when you say you soaked it in lock-tite, may i ask how? my lock-tite has a very small nozzel and i don't see how it could drench something in glue.

thanks,

LM

wait wait wait wait... huh..?

While I think that Madness should not be an @$$ about his comments, I think the painting needs a lot of work.

It really kinda detracts from the excellent modeling. The modeling however is EXCELLENT.

For the Nid warrior, just drybrush the motherfether. get like 6 colors. The main skin tone, the main chitin plating tone, and then a shader and a highlight for the both of em.

1st slather the skin and bone with the shaders. Then drybrush like a crazy person. then delicately highlight.

I did my friends nids like that. They don't win any prizes, but they look pretty good.

Cool modeling. A little washing and highlighting; go easy on the basing, and you're gold.

I appreciate the CONSTRUCTIVE criticism from, and you re right my painting needs a lot of work. I am more of a modeler and super super impatient when it comes to painting.

I will give the shading my best shot, I have a few friends who are good with that sorta thing so Ill ask for their help.

Anyone have a good link to a good painting advice site?

As for the Locktight, it does drip but it can drip a lot.

That surface area is very small so all I did was shake the bottle over the paper towel. What happens when you do that is the locktight actually eats the paper and shrinks it down into cool little blood looking goblets.

Ill post my avatar which was the first conversion I ever did it has some closer looks at the gore. (sorry the photos are still not that great.)

Oh, here and there.

Very cool looking models. Your painting skills are at a table playable level, but your modelling skills are pro! Keep it up, dude!
