1st I didnt know what sub forum to post this but:
How many more of you would play with these if they had better models? Or a model at all (Khalek)

This probably belongs in Tactics. As for the question itself, there are rumours of models for both Khalek and new Dragon Ogres for Wave 2.

I converted my own dragon ogres from Dragon ogre bottoms and plastic ogre tops. They look awesome, and now have 2 hand weapons!

I was intending to take the Dragon half of the Shaggoth, and use a LotR plastic troll for the top half.

I have seen some nice (and pretty easy to do) conversions from the new Dark Elf Cold Ones and Ogre Bulls.

I rather like the old models. I'm more bummed by the fact they can no longer have a standard bearer as I had converted one years ago. I don't plan on replacing them, as I'm blowing enough $$ picking up new knights and mounted marauders. My problem now is whether I want to include Ogres or not. If I do, then I have to decide whether to purchase the box of 6 or the box of 4 (cooler looking imo).

I've a question. I read that monsters can get 3 supporting attacks from the 2nd rank. Can I run my four dragon ogres in a 2x2 formation and still hit with all 12 great weapons with a more convient frontage that lends itself to working with a warrior block and will get less return attacks from rank and file infantry? This seems to good to be true, but I am having a hard time finding the part of the rules that would prevent this.
So far, I have run these 4 dragon ogres in 2 games of 2,000 points against empire and beast men (or shall I say minotaurs) and have accomplished nothing. I won't give up on them yet, because I like the models I'm converting. The arms are in the mail, and I intend to green stuff scales and spikes on their backs and some armor on the shoulders.
I can't stand the GW Drogre models. I have seen some that looked cool, but that was only due to their Godly paint jobs. I am in the process of converting these.
I'll be so upset if GW releases better looking dragon ogres after I finish with these.

They can support with up to 3 attacks, its in the BRB FAQ, the monstrous support USR.

Yeah... they're still wickedly overpriced compared to the damage/survivability they typically put out.

At base S5, if you've got the space, go 4 wide.
You're giving up 2 S5 stomps in the 2x2 cube.
