Hey i was bored today and in need of a good army creator tool for my ork army so i decided to do one myself

Thought i'd share it with you guys as theres quite a lot of work in this one.

Please note that its not 100% bug proof and any feedback is welcome

Also for the time beeing its just for the Ork army. I got plans to later (when i got extra time again) add a space marine section to it.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum but its more or less about Army Lists...
Incase it is in the wrong section please move it to the correct one.

Wasted the better part of the day on this one so now I'm gonna hit the sack

Edit 1 : sorry forgot to mention its an Excel file

Edit 2 : Excel 2003 file added, I'm not sure if it works like the other excel file does but it should

Edit 3 : Dedicated Transports section fixed. Both files updated.

Thanks for all the positive feedback

The one thing I that I'm probably going to do later is fix the dedicated vehicles section as its really not that great now.

I'm quite sure I'm going to make one for the Space Marines when I have some more free time.
But as those 2 are the only armies i collect at the moment they are also the only 2 codexs that I own.

So to answer your question, Space Marines = Yes, Soon(tm). All other races, doubt it.
If anyone wants to make one using the template I made I can probably help out a bit.

Could you fix the lack of dedicated transport choices? I don't know how to edit these and make it work... Thanks.

Done, hope 6 choices is enough for you, in case it isn't then just tell me as it is really easy to add more

Also noticed a bug on the dedicated transports section where it wouldn't add the points to the total army value field. Ooops.

To get the updated versions just redownload them from the original post.

Thanks for the awesome tool. The only comment that I'd make is that the front page doesn't display which upgrades each squad has.

For printing purposes, I'd rather have it show that stuff so I can present the army list to my opponent and show that everything adds up.

At the same time, it IS awesome as it is currently!

Yeah i really really understand what you mean and I've wanted to have a feature like that myself.

I will look into it when i have some more spare time, but I got waaay to much stuff to do this week.
I'll look into it next week though, but I'm not sure if I will be able to do it :/

This is awesome! When I hit print what will print out? will it just be the front sheet or will it include all my choices too?

Untested, but it should print out the selected page in case you have that option selected under "Print". Theres also the option to print out the entire document which will of course include the options you've chosen as well.
The catch is that it wont only print out the ones you've chosen so you'd need to cut away all the excess papers of unselected units.

Also as the pages are quite wide i think it would probably be best to use the landscape printout setting. But as I said, I haven't tested this at all so test it and see for your self

Edit 1 : I just did some print preview testing and sadly it doesn't seem to be too printer friendly. You can try to print in landscape view and then cut and paste the pages together (as they overlap) to get a nice strip of stats.
Edit 2 : That got me thinking, maybe I should add the characters stats (like WS/BS/S/T etc)there somewhere as well, in case people are already printing out them it wouldn't hurt I guess. Got to look into it next time i got more spare time.
