Violent Enforcer

I'm thinking of doing a Deathwing esque army, because I like the idea of having 30 models comprise a whole 1850 list and I was thinking about striking bright and bold colors to use. In a strike of brilliance I thought of a two step paint job that should do 90% of the painting outside of details and I'm wondering if anyone thinks it might work: Instead of my usual black primer, I plan to use caution orange spray paint as my primer. Once the primer's dry, I then plan on using a red ink wash. VOILA! Outside of details like the stormbolters and other fiddly bits, I'll call it a finished model. Maybe if I want them to look a little lighter I could dry brush some 70/30 blazing orange/bad moonz yellow, but that depends on the product.. First step will be to find a couple unwanted minis to test this on. That and a name for the chapter. I would think with the color it should be the fiery somethings or the something phoenix's or some other insanity.. Anyone think it'll work?

They will blind your opponent. You need caution stripes on the power fists just for kicks.

Thats a great idea! I might steal it for my unpainted Space Marine house army I have for people that come voer to play but don't have an army.
What paint are you going to use? I always thought those safety colors were much heavier pigment then other spray paint.

I don't know yet. Firstly I need to gather the funds for said army. Then I'll try it out. One good thing about it is that I won't have to worry about missing my minis after a game, like I do with my camo'ed up scouts who've gone MIA several times after being placed in wooded terrain.

Well, the Krylon paint I tried was WAY too thick coming out and it resulted in my test minis looking more like bloated neon servants of Nurgle than Loyalist Marines But oh well.. Also, on a humorous side note, castrol super clean seems to react to the paint and turns what paint you can't scrub off a very lovely shade of light pink, making my marines look like reformed Slaaneshi Marines...
